Let me start off by saying someone paid it forward for our meal at Las Salsas. To whom ever you are Thank You! Our server was amazing! I honestly don't know how he didn't mess up our over with all of the changes that was made! We sat near the salsa bar which gave us quick and easy access to try all of the different flavors. I enjoyed the avocado salsa the best! The dinning area was very open which may get loud on busy nights but we weren't before the dinner rush. My tacos were definitely hearty and taste amazing. We found Las Salsas on Yelp. On a roadtrip, we scoured a local spot for dinner and margs. Their menu is ROBUST. Fajitas, burritos, chimichangas, milanesa, tacos... and some regional Mexican plates that I've never even heard of. Not sure why they have a 4.2 rating. Wife and I just left there and neither my wife nor I were impressed by our meal. I had their Spicy Molcajete Burrito (Steak) and my wife had the Fajita Burrito (Chicken). The meals came on large plates and both burritos were large. The refried beans on the plates looked puréed down to a sauce consistency and the bean purée had no flavor. The rice on the plates was cooked well and had a great flavor. My Molcajete burrito had way way too much cheese versus vegetables and meat which caused you to taste the bland cheese more than anything else. My wife said she didn't care for her burrito either. While the chicken in it was good, the vegetables in the burrito were not cooked hardly at all. Won't be returning. read more

We went to Las Salsas Friday evening while visiting family in Morganton. To our surprise, we didn't have to wait long to get a table for five. The adults each ordered a jumbo margarita, which were delicious. I ordered a combination entree that came with two cheese enchiladas, two shredded beef taquitos, rice, and refried beans. I really enjoyed the flavor of everything I ate, the portion sizes were generous, and prices very reasonable. The salsa bar is a nice feature, with plenty of options with varying levels of spiciness. We found this restaurant in 2012 on a road trip. it's an hour from our home. We go there about once every two weeks now. it's the best Mexican I've had before or since. Everywhere we go we visit Mexican. the food is excellent and the salsa bar excellent. try all of them. I never liked green salsas till here and the spicy green is the most original and best anywhere for spicy. You will not be disappointed. Hidden gem off the highway that was an amazing experience. When I arrived, I ordered a Stein of Dos Equis for $2.99. Amazing deal. For food, I ordered the spicy molcajete burrito with steak and wasn't disappointed. Portion size is enough for 2 meals, so I had plenty of the onions, cheese, and cilantro the next day with the 2nd half of my burrito. The salsa bar had many great flavors as well to suit any spice level you desire. Definitely something we'll return too soon. So many people that I love a whole lot realllllly love Las Salsas. I always feel bad that I don't love this mediocre Mexican restaurant even half as much as they do. For the first few visits, I thought I was just picking wrong. The fajitas my husband always gets look pretty good but my tacos, burrito, enchiladas, insert my order du jour here were always no good. I've had enough blah dishes at this point to say without hesitation... It's not me, it's you Las Salsas. I think the only decent thing on the menu might be the fajitas. Service can be hit or miss here, too. They're either hovering or nowhere to be found. Since the little rabbit from Bambi taught me that you shouldn't say anything at all if you don't have anything nice to say, I will close with this... The salsa bar is a nice touch. Solid Americanized Mexican restaurant in this recent find of Las Salsas! On my way to Asheville and Las Salsas was conveniently on the way as well when the hunger pains hit! A very cool themed restaurant on the inside with a very clean dining room! My first impression ratcheted up a notch when I noticed they had a fresh salsa bar! From mild to hot, and fresh pico to boot, it's a great way to sample various salsas with your chips. They also bring hot bean dip to the table which I tend to find out on the West Coast frequently. Being on a plant based diet for the better of 7 days, I wanted to stick to that regiment which landed me on the Spinach/Mushrooms Enchiladas! They were very tasty with an excellent side of beans and rice! The topping of guacamole was slightly different than I'm used to, but the results were excellent! I believe the only thing that kept me from giving them a five star rating was the fact that I couldn't sample their meats...yet! read more

If a fat North Carolinian likes it; I usually stay far away because they like most anything as long as it is huge portions and really fattening. But, I was in the area and thought Id chance it. Big mistake that was! I ordered a meal as easy as you can get; cheese enchiladas! The cheese was cold and clumpy in the middle . So it was a no go immediately. Gross! They used the same cheap white cheese as some other "mexican" food restaurants in the area so as far as I am concerned it was a flop through and through. I didnt even want them to fix the problem because they may have just zapped it in a microwave. My waiter said they were having problems with the cheese machine. So why the heck did he bring it out to me?! I am from the SW where we know how to cook authentic great tasting mexican food using all kinds of cheeses. I know great mexican food because Ive had it all my life until moving to the south. I tipped my waiter 4 bucks for bringing me tea and a cold meal. Thinking about it later I realized that he was equally to blame for bringing it out to me like that. But seriously, I know why he did. He knows that the avg customer which is a wide load nc will shovel anything down. The woman at the front was extremely rude to me on my way out. She didnt like hearing that I was disappointed. I may have triggered her sensitive sensibilities. I have my doubts about the rating for this place. My entire family has been coming here for years and the reason we always return is due to the fast service and excellent food. We have had many of the same waitstaff for years and it's nice that they always are on top of things. My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite late last night and this is the first time we have eaten inside the restaurant in a while because of Covid. They do a great takeout service as well! The only issue with their Covid response is the bottleneck of people coming in and out of the front door and paying at the register. Other than that they're being very responsible with the tables spaced apart and booths shut down. Last night my wife and I both tried something new for the fun of it, I had a potato and steak burrito and my wife had shrimp enchiladas. Both of our meals were amazing! The flavor was fantastic, the portions are huge, and the price cannot be beat.
