Well, since I finally was able to go with him on a food tour, we obviously had to stop here. Got the costilla (rib) and arrachera (skirt steak) tacos with cheese. Love how they don't skimp at all on toppings as you can put as much salsa or guacamole as your heart desires. Anyways, I get it now. These tacos were AMAZING. They were bursting with flavor and juiciness. I would eat these every damn day if I lived down in Tijuana. Service is pretty good. They don't really speak English, but they are very friendly and honestly it's not very hard to figure out what the menu says. Just use Google Translate and point at what you want! We came here a couple times instead of the other one due to it being closer to the Casino. Both times were ok, the Carne Asada & Adobada tacos were pretty much the same in both locations, real good. But the other meats weren't, the Tripa, Cabeza, Birria tasted bland & not freshly made. Also the customer service was not as good as the other location, workers here look sad & they were not too attentive & were kind of slow. At the other place they were fast, active & happy, the vibe at the other location was just better. It's a well known spot with the locals with several locations in the city. We ordered tacos with both crispy and soft tortillas as a vessel for our combo of birria and chicharrones. The taco was a dramatic flavor explosion in my mouth. I was almost reduced to tears with every bite because it was so good. The mixture of flavors and textures in this taco was unlike any taco I've ever had! My friend said that haven't great quality and tasty food isn't new to Tijuana and it has always been like this. As an Alta Californian, your dining dollars go a long way here. $1 - $2 per taco. I'm in love with Baja California and their food scene right now. I can't wait for my next visit.
