Combinación mexicana unas saladas otros sin sabor
    Maribel A.

Such a great great place I'm so glad we stumbled onto this little gem in playas de Tijuana. I love a good backstory when it comes to restaurants and this one is insane. Nice little house built into a restaurant you could tell the kitchen is still made into a normal house kitchen. They use the rooms as a place to eat just awesome awesome environment and story. Now the food itself was amazing. The tacos that I got were delicious not dripping in oil, which was amazing to see my wife got the Gorditas and those were delicious. You could just taste the homemade flavor food. Our waiter encouraged us to take a little walk in the restaurant since it wasn't too busy and definitely worth the time.. the food we got was recommended by the server and I cannot disappoint. See the pictures of what we got definitely a great place and I will definitely return.

I found this gem on yelp I've been to Tijuana multiple times through the years but this place is different. It's intimate romantic classy. I would bring my parents here. The food is delicious. 10 out of 10. The customer service is great. I will definitely come back.

wow, is the first thought as I bit into this plate. The chili stuffed with a perfectly folded egg and nopal topped with a crema. The rolled tortilla filled with queso fresco and topped with a subtle pink mole sauce. The service was incredible, I was greeted with complimentary frijoles, chips and salsa. My coffee was topped multiple times keeping the warmth in every sip. I sat in the garden area of the restaurant, where you can enjoy the freshness of being outdoors without the sun hitting you. I will absolutely be back!

The place is literally like a house, hence the name. The service was fast but unfortunately the food la led flavor. They do have a great café del la olla and a lady making fresh tortillas :)

Loved breakfast here. We're mid-pandemic and they are taking all precautions to ensure safe dining, including: temp check, sanitizer at entrance, patio dining, 6 ft distancing, employees wearing masks. Thank you for being neurotic about all our safety. Delicious food! My husband got the menudo, and I got the veggie omelette. Bonus: fresh handmade blue corn tortillas!

Food: 4 Ambience: 5 Decorations: 5 (old home antiques!) Service: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Parking: 2 (limited street parking only) Prices: 5 Very reasonable La Casa de Don Juan is literally the former home of Don Juan. The charming and elegant home is now transformed into a delightful restaurant open for breakfast and lunch, open till 5 PM, serving mostly Mexican traditional cuisine. I was there for a special group event, so we were given a beautiful private room upstairs. There were about 15 of us. Otherwise I would have enjoyed the patio dining near the fountain. I was arriving from out of town and had not yet checked into my hotel. So I asked permission to leave my luggage in the office, and they were glad to oblige. In fact, one of the young men offered to help me bring in my bags. The whole staff was very helpful and friendly. I ordered the tostadas de carne deshebrada (shredded beef). I received three, well loaded tostadas. I would have enjoyed a bit more cream or avocado, but they were very good, especially with the habanero hot sauce! Others in my group ordered chile rellenos which almost made me regret ordering the tostadas. The chile en nogada looked especially delicious. I really enjoyed the old furnishings, antiques, family photos, and the beautiful decorations around the home. It felt less like a restaurant and more like going to eat at a friend's hacienda. The bathrooms were very clean. Everything was clean. The service was excellent, and the wait staff was very friendly and competent. Parking is very limited, and the place is difficult to find because it doesn't look like a restaurant, and the trees in front are covering up parts of the building. But once you get there it's definitely worth it. I really enjoyed it and look forward to returning.

Came here based on yelp pics and dollar sign. It should be updated... more or so to two $$ signs. The portions and food were great mind you. But for this area, its a little pricey. Delicious and great service, but I think I'll stick to other places in area where prices are somewhat more fit ands serve the same items.

Overall, it was a very good experience, but not quite a 5-star visit. The food was fresh and delicious, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. While we waited for our meal, they brought out a complimentary dessert and fresh fruit plate, which was a thoughtful touch and a nice surprise. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't allow outside drinks. Our server politely informed us that my daughter couldn't have her Gatorade inside the restaurant. It wasn't a huge deal, but I wish there was a little more flexibility for families with young kids. The other reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the seasoning. While the food was good, I felt it needed a little more flavor. Maybe our taste buds in the U.S. are just used to stronger seasoning, but I found myself wishing for a bit more salt and seasoning to really make the dishes pop. Overall, the food quality is excellent, the complimentary fruit and dessert were a nice touch, and I can definitely see why this place is so popular. I'd still recommend giving it a try and would come back the next time I'm in Rosarito.

There's parking around the corner, but if it's busy, it'll be hard to grab a spot. Worth looking around for parking though! We went on a busy Sunday morning where we waited about 25 minutes, which was not a problem because there was plenty of wait seating and the store to keep you busy! Every seat is met with exquisite natural lighting, and we were seated next to a window, so it was even more bright! The restaurant itself is very home-like, bringing bright colors with dark wood details all around. There's also a cute fountain outside, and a shop cat to keep you company (el gatito!!). The menu is large with many options, and as you can see, it's a little bit on the pricer side for the area. However, I'll argue that it's well worth the money! When we were seated, we got the complimentary toast with butter and pumpkin jam, which is always a treat! We ordered a few mains for our family: chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, enchiladas and French toast (see photos). All were made with love and tasted homemade! The best part - and the reason why I begged to come back was for the fruit salad with frozen yogurt ice cream! DO NOT SKIP THIS!!! It is the BEST thing on the menu! I'll always bring them my business when I come to TJ!
