Delivered my boat as they were not willing to come to my marina, next town over. Ok, no problem…read more Understand, my boat is my baby and I've take meticulous care of it. My Mercury motor was taking a few tries to start, so figured it was time for a checkup. They did the tune up quickly, which was great. I picked up the boat and left it on the trailer while I was away for a week. I dunked it back into the water at the marina and upon turning the key, the alarms starting blaring, the engine stalled, and oil started pissing out of the carburetor, all over my boat. I had to get towed to my slip. I called ... several times, before the receptionist got someone to respond. Before even listening to the issue, Mike, the owner, stated arguing (loudly) that it wasn't his fault or problem .. on and on for 20 minutes. He insisted it was something I did after he did his repair. Said "the best he can do is look at it in 3 or 4 days" ... Really? It only took 20 seconds for him to charge my credit card the $700 for the tune up! He said he's self employed and goes home at 5 ... Really? I'm self employed and realize my customers come first and if I got a call, I'd respond ... now, not in 3 or 4 days! He finally agreed, if I could get it to his shop that night (which meant finding someone to tow me back out of my slip, and load it back up and deliver it), that he would look at it the next day. I did. Well, very long story short, it was not anything post-tune up. He determined it was a hose and replaced the hose (yes, he charged me $70 for the hose, okay fine). They loaded my boat back on the trailer .. using my new $75 tie downs. They put them on backwards .... so, they busted. I went back in .. the receptionist gets him on speakerphone, he starts yelling, calling me every nasty name and using every "f" ing profanity, so that a customer in his shop could hear what a jerk he is. Really? This is how you conduct business you blow hard? Don't think for a minute that everyone at my marina and boating community won't hear want a jerk you are. Avoid the drama. We all know the type .... loud, "not me" kind of guy. No one wants to do business with someone whose first reaction is to blame the customer. Poor business. Obviously, he won't be getting mine in the future.
