My daughter and I had an absolute blast piloting the boat, and once we got over the fear factor that we were going "too fast" and gained confidence in piloting the boat for the first time, it felt like second nature. We did the 3 hour Mystic River tour which ended with a "free sail" hour at the end. However, we opted not to go out into the Sound due to heavily windy conditions, so we stayed in the channel in the "playground" area doing donuts and figure-eights. Before we knew it the 3 hours was up. Rob was a great host and he taught us how to pilot the boats in no time. He was also very knowledgeable of the Mystic seaport area. We had a great time and will absolutely be making this a regular part of our yearly Mystic trips!

The reviews were all highly praising and it looked like a fun experience. I have to say: don't hesitate! Book them! Rob was a pro guide and made sure we understood how to operate our boat safely and how to get the most fun out of it. Yes, there are safety things that you need to be aware of, but he was very encouraging of us trying out what the boat can do. We loved getting to do donuts in our boat! The tour itself was very informative, and we really got a feel for the area. We're already looking forward to returning for another season with a full group of friends to rent out all the boats. This is a must-do activity when visiting Mystic. Be sure to arrive on time as requested so that you can be briefed on the safety. That is so important, and that is why they tell you in advance that you will be turned away if you are late to the safety briefing. For those of you who may be wondering, there is ample parking, and it was about a 15-20 minute drive with traffic from downtown Mystic. Again, a huge thank you to Rob for being an awesome guide and helping us have the best experience possible for my husband's birthday surprise. Hope to see you again soon!

While it's no Watch Hill dockyard, the Westerly Yacht Club holds it's own as one of the premier boating and sailing locations in the area. The marina is extremely clean and very well organized and the building's interior reflects just the same. While there are of course some ongoing issues with membership and other issues not needed to be addressed here, on its face, the Westerly Yacht Club is a beautiful part of the town.

We were looking for an activity that would be fun for a multigenerational group of 23 people with toddlers, seniors, and everyone in between. We had been in communication with Oliver for months in advance. About two weeks before the big day, we saw that the forecast called for showers throughout Memorial Day weekend, particularly the Sunday of our planned cruise. We monitored the weather and decided to make a decision closer to the day. Throughout the entire process of planning, Oliver was responsive, reliable, accommodating, and kind. On the morning of the trip, Oliver gave us multiple options and worked with us to make sure that we could cancel and get a full refund due to the inclement weather. He provided us with agency up to the last hour of decision making. On a day that could have been really stressful, Oliver alleviated some of that stress. Yesterday, the owner of the marina cut me off waiting in line to fuel up. We let him know we were…read morewaiting and his response was "I'm getting paid $140/hr to have this boat (yellow everglades) ready, I'm the owner of the marina and I'm next." I immediately left and will purchase $1200 fuel elsewhere. For 20 years I have heard nothing but horror stories about this place, the false promises, the shoddy workmanship, the owners nickname being Robber. etc. If this is how you treat your customers at the fuel dock, can you imagine what goes on in the background. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere, I certainly will.
