Can't believe one jackwagon ruined the rating here bc they were closed basically when everything was closed. Place is awesome. Great view over the river. IPA wasn't the best I've had but wasn't bad. The Pintail Pale Ale was awesome. Son had the Dunkel and Red and said both were good. Don't miss out bc someone wasn't happy about being closed.

This is a great small micro brew for a small town like Ft Madison. We went for a couple of beers and some appetizers. It was all very cheap and the micro brews were pretty good and you can tell they are home made. Service was fast and they were friendly once they opened up to you. Place is located downtown and it's a perfect location to hang out. We will be back for sure. They are cash only and closed on Sundays and Mondays so those are the negatives.

Wowsa, my second try for a brewery on the Mississippi to find it closed. Nothing on the website either. Update your hours!

Nice view to the river and fort, good beer selection and had a very tasty Jumbalaya bowl. Place is clean and well taken care.

I would send everyone I know to this little bar on the river if we knew anyone remotely close by.

Heavy metal riffage in a ice cold glass…read more To round out a day of exploring the Quad Cities, Emily and I dropped into Wake Brewing to have a beer and a few rounds of Uno and a few other card games to relax before the drive. I didn't look into the place before we stopped here so I assumed it was either surfer-themed or was attached to a coffeehouse. Little did we know it was a heavy metal/groove metal nanobrewery. I thrive on heavy metal so perfect for me, not so much for Emily. There were about 10 beers on tap to pick from so I got the Midlife Crisis (fitting as I near 40) and Emily got the Green Mind. The place was filled with what felt like the regulars so we took a spot over in a corner to drink one last beer before the road and play some card games in my 'pub kit' as seen in the cover photo above. My pub kit is a simple plastic container I got from Walmart that is full of quick and easy games to play at breweries, coffeehouses, or wherever you are. It just happens to be plastered in stickers from my travels. Anywho, back to the topic at hand. I really liked Wake Brewing. I have been into IPAs lately and tried a West Coast one for the first time. It was tasty but since I've been drinking hazy or tropical ones, it didn't quite hit like I am used to but that's on me and not the beer itself. Emily really liked her gose beer. I was eyeing the other IPAs on the menu but with a 2 hour drive back, I didn't want to delay us getting home before too late. While we sat there, some really nice groove metal was playing. It reminded me of Tool but less technical and more foot tapping. Shazam said it was King Buffalo and I'll have to check them out once life settles down a bit. If the heavy metal scene scares you, don't be intimidated. Most metal heads are big nerds and are some of the chillest people around. We didn't stick around too long but I wish we had. I loved the entire vibe of this place and would've liked to try some of their other beers. They do have some merch for sell, so you know Emily and I got all their stickers for this trip. If luck finds us back here again, I will def get a shirt. Anything to support heavy metal (and beer). As a side note, do know that trying to park here had me miss the parking lot's few entrances quite a few times. So, if it's your first time, be vigilant of the weird layout and multiple entrances. Rock on!

3.75* (out of 5) Food: 4* Atmosphere: 3* Value: 4*…read more Service: 4* 07/08/2023 Our son and daughter-in-law invited us to eat with them after the days events at the John Deere Classic and we ended up picking the Tap 22 Grill & Bar. It doesn't look like much from the outside (a refurbished industrial / farm building - see picture), but the inside is quite another story (see pictures). They appeared to be short-staffed in the kitchen - possibly overwhelmed by the extra customers coming from the John Deere Classic. Tanya, did a great job keeping us informed on the order status and keeping our drinks full. I ordered the Tin Can Nachos (see picture) for my meal and to share with the table and another guest at our table ordered the Arizona Chicken Sandwich (see picture). The sandwich and fries were very good and the Nachos were likely the most unique delivery that I've ever seen. As the name implies, they come with all the ingredients layered in a tin can and then the server lifts off the top at the table (see picture) to leave a delicious stack of chips and toppings! I would definitely stop by on another trip when it isn't so busy - and I highly recommend that you try the Tin Can Nachos when you go. Also, be sure to say 'Hi' to Tanya - she is a wonderful server!
