I've been to Front Street a few times now and overall I've had a pretty good experience. The service has been good most of the time, especially when it's not super busy. There have been a couple times where it felt a little slower, but nothing too bad. The food is definitely the best part though. My favorite thing there is the pork nachos, they're honestly really good and I would go back just for those. The portion is big and the flavor is really good, so it's easy to share but also hard not to eat all of it. Overall I'd say it's a solid place to go, especially if you're looking for something casual with good food. I'd definitely come back again. read more

Very good American pub-fare selection. My pork tenderloin sandwich from the pub-fare side of the menu, with Fries, beautifully done, and with creamy coleslaw side, was needed comfort on a plate. Meeting friends in the quad cities we landed on Front Street as the meeting spot. Parking was tough. The place was super busy and a bit loud when we arrived but we were able to get a couple spots at the bar. Service was slow but that was okay. Normally this is my go-to downtown spot. My favorite meal is always the blackened steak salad. However they changed the steak. Instead of a plump, delicious cut of meat, it was topped with thinly sliced meat that resembles gyro meat. For the price of the salad it wasn't the cut of meat I was expecting. It was honestly gross to look at and it completely ruined the salad for me. Also I sub out the dressing for ranch, which is normally amazing - I could literally just eat that as a side. Tonight it was made incorrectly and resembled tartar sauce. It's was also not the best tasting. I was super disappointed and I hope the changes to the menu shift back to the quality I loved and expected from here. On an extremely positive note, my server was the sweetest and amazing at her job. Tough to get to right now with all of the construction. They have a large shaded patio in the back and plenty of inside seating. River views in the front of the restaurant, once the construction barricades are gone. Nevaeh said she was new to the brewery, but was so professional and friendly. She did a great job taking care of us! I had the Rueben and really enjoyed it. Lots of flavor and well balanced. The tots were too salty for me, but that could have just been the cook that night. Front Street Pub & Eatery is a great pub that offers a variety of options from beer, food, and a full bar. They have plenty of seating from bar side, to booths, and tables. They additionally have plenty of parking in the lot directly across from the main entrance. Most recently we visited for the BOGO lunch offer included in the photos and were overall pleased. I had the fish and chips and it was great. The fish had a grata crunch, and fries were good too. It was served with lemon wedges and tartar sauce and I order some buffalo sauce to go with it. The buffalo sauce was a nice add but it's an up charge. We also had tater tots as an appetizer and they are by far one of my top tater tots. My partner ordered the Cajun Alfredo, but subsistent blackened salmon for the chicken. That's also an up charge. He enjoyed the meal but said it wasn't really a Cajun Alfredo, more like a Cajun brown butter sauce but nonetheless very good. He did not the andouille sausage wasn't very good at all it took that out of his meal. For drinks, we had the Mahalo which is a pineapple radler beer and one of my tops beers from them. We will definitely be back and take advantage of that lunch time special and recommend them. PS they have daily specials and offer a military discount. read more

Front Street is located in an adorable older building downtown, overlooking the river. Despite parking being very limited, my friend and I were seated quickly on a busy Saturday night and got to enjoy the patio atmosphere (would highly recommend the patio, whether permitting!). While being busy with a very large party, service was great and very attentive. We started with the poutine appetizer. It was good, but I'm not sure it really blew me away. I would try a different app next time. Next came the side salad - which the kitchen brought out by mistake, but I happily enjoyed. It was very fresh and had a great blend of lettuce. Finally, for my entree, I chose to order the blackened chicken salad as a wrap. I like that they offer this option! I was very impressed with the amount of protein in the wrap - they were not skimpy with the chicken and it made for a perfect, filling meal. The menu doesn't say so, but the wrap came with tortilla chips and salsa. Overall, this was a solid stop for casual food. Would definitely recommend as a low-key option for meals downtown. read more

My boyfriend and I were in town for a couple of weeks dog-sitting for some friends in Bettendorf. I had a craving for burgers and, of course, I checked Yelp. I was hopeful because this is highly rated. When we arrived, the front door was locked. Another couple, apparently also from out of town, who arrived at the same time as us thought this place was open. We ended up cutting through the patio and then entering through the side door. My boyfriend had to tell one of the workers, "Hey, your front door is locked... Are you open?" We were seated immediately, but it took a while before they figured out who was going to serve us. There was only one big table of people and the place was empty. So I guess they Rock, Paper, Scissors and someone finally took our order. The order was simple, or so I thought... I ordered a classic cheeseburger and my boyfriend had one of their special burgers. MEDIUM, please! We both like the meat to be pink when you slice it. When we got our food, mine was so rock hard and well done. My boyfriend's was well done, but not overcooked like mine. He told our server, who was nice enough to ask if I wanted it replaced. I was too hungry and didn't want it to go to waste. Yes, I'm like that. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Maybe it was an off day? We had the poutine which was good. It could probably do with a little less salt and then it would be perfect. Room for improvement is my verdict. Your staff needs to figure out their assignments before any customers show up. Who is running the show? Please retrain whoever it is who doesn't know how to cook a simple burger. I could have sworn I wrote a review for this brewery but I guess not and it was deemed to be a part of my lost series in which I thought a destroyed phone had the brewery and beer experience unrecoverable but thanks to finding physical notes of the experience the details have been salvaged. Steve and I met a friend of ours here which proves to be a good location for catching up of this sort. At least the day we went as it was relatively quiet and not too loud. The food here was alright. Typical pub fare but no complaints either in that regard. For the beer I had a fruit beer called the Cherry Ale. It was a light bodied beer that was lightly hopped. Cherries are then brought into the mix. I ordered as it seemed unique but proved to be a touch too sweet for me. I liked the cherry and tart aspect ok but the beer unfortunately didn't win me over and I liked the food a bit more. Nice atmosphere and location. This brewery also has another location in town which is apparently more of a taproom. read more

Excellent salad to start. Their blue cheese dressing had real chunks of blue cheese. We also had a BLT and it was outstanding the bacon with some of the best bacon I've ever had and I used to be the product manager for one of the largest producers of bacon in the country. We split a cheeseburger too and it was excellent. The only thing that wasn't fantastic was the french fries, which were kind of boring. We came here on 4th of July it was pretty packed, but thankfully we were able to snag a table in time! They have really great food and beer. I tried the guacamole and bacon burger and it was so mouthwatering!! I also really enjoyed the Pineapple Radler, great for those who prefer a sweeter taste. Food challenge Victory #9 Saturday 6/29/24 Rolled in today and stumbled upon this gem. Smaller interior with a quaint patio out back. Unfortunately had some heavy construction outside. And found a 5lb nacho Challenge promoted on their menu. Obviously, I had to try it. I asked if I could attempt it, and was told it was no problem. Food to a long time to come out, which was one of the only issues, and this only stood out because the place was pretty empty at 4:15 in the afternoon, and I imagine most of the ingredients for nachos are ready to put together. No hoopla, which I prefer, just REALLY good nachos. Consist of 1lb if nacho chips, 2lbs of pulled pork jalapeños, pico, nacho cheese, sour cream and roasted corn. It all came together perfectly in my opinion. I got 30 minutes to completed and receive the meal free, spot on their tiny wall of victory and and challenge t-shirt. I wasn't informed of a rules (usually pretty straight forward) though. Luckily, I was able to conquer the nachos, along side my boys, who split a regular order to "race" me in 22:19. Staff was very accommodating, good music, but gonna have to wait on a shirt to mailed to me. Typical brew pub...mediocre food, okay craft beer. Being a big fan of IPAs, was a little disappointed to see only 2 on tap, though both were good. Ordered a blackened steak salad for dinner. Mediocre at best. Steak was tough, not cooked to medium as requested, no semblance of blackened. The blue cheese dressing was thin, but the honey mustard was outstanding. Had a nice zing to it, like horseradish. That, combined with the blue cheese on the steak made an excellent topping. Server was super friendly, but not very attentive.
