Meeting friends in the quad cities we landed on Front Street as the meeting spot. Parking was tough. The place was super busy and a bit loud when we arrived but we were able to get a couple spots at the bar. Service was slow but that was okay. Over the course of an hour or two we had their beers, a soup and some appetizers, all good. Definitely worth four stars.

The salmon and rice is ideal for those with food sensitivities and/or those cutting calories since there's minimal oil/butter. Cool vibe, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. Loved the caper dill sauce! Thanks for the experience.

I had the blackened chicken wrap and the Goldilocks golden ale. Wrap was great- the honey mustard dressing had a bit of a horseradish kick which I didn't mind. Beer was light and refreshing.

Burger is a bit dry and sweet potato fries are very salty but overall okay for the area.

We were seated quickly and the food was very quick. We ordered the chicken wings for an appetizer and they were great. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with garlic mashed potatoes and it was disappointing. The chicken had no seasoning and the garlic mashed potatoes had no garlic and no flavor.

Went at an odd hour (3-4) and was seated quick. Waitress was super nice and attentive. We got some drinks that were yummy (beer, a gin cocktail, and the blue balls). We got poutine fries as an appetizer - I am not a big poutine fan but these were delicious and the fries were salty and crunchy. We all got burgers which were nice. The Mexican smash burger was the best, the other two lacked a little flavor in the patties. Portions were good. My burger came with a side of tater tots which were actually so good and crunchy.

Front Street Pub & Eatery is a great pub that offers a variety of options from beer, food, and a full bar. They have plenty of seating from bar side, to booths, and tables. They additionally have plenty of parking in the lot directly across from the main entrance. Most recently we visited for the BOGO lunch offer included in the photos and were overall pleased. I had the fish and chips and it was great. The fish had a grata crunch, and fries were good too. It was served with lemon wedges and tartar sauce and I order some buffalo sauce to go with it. The buffalo sauce was a nice add but it's an up charge. We also had tater tots as an appetizer and they are by far one of my top tater tots. My partner ordered the Cajun Alfredo, but subsistent blackened salmon for the chicken. That's also an up charge. He enjoyed the meal but said it wasn't really a Cajun Alfredo, more like a Cajun brown butter sauce but nonetheless very good. He did not the andouille sausage wasn't very good at all it took that out of his meal. For drinks, we had the Mahalo which is a pineapple radler beer and one of my tops beers from them. We will definitely be back and take advantage of that lunch time special and recommend them. PS they have daily specials and offer a military discount.

The beers were from like 30 years ago, not up with times. The food was below mid bar food. I wouldn't come back here.

The cheese curds were oil soaked and not fried properly. Most had no or little cheese in them again from improper frying. The crab dip was powerful fishy and the toast rounds were butter soaked... again more grease. My chicken dumpling soup was luke warm and any food served, especially a cream soup, cant be safely served not piping hot. The sourdough grilled toast with it was... again soaked in butter and thus inedible. Husband's chili was off tasting and again not piping hot. His sourdough was also swimming in butter. While the meal itself was solid, the service experience left a little to be desired. To make a long story short, the hostess was not very friendly and there appeared to be a miscommunication in what level of service to expect when sitting at the bar. We were told we could order dinner there as well, but struggled for quite a while to get a menu or meal order in. It wasn't the end of the world, but it was uncomfy as I eventually had to return to the hostess and ask for a menu and help getting our order placed. Ordering simply wasn't a smooth experience - perhaps this would've been different had we been seated at a table, but again, we were told the bar was full-service. I fully acknowledge this could've been an off night and not the typical experience, but it was a little awkward. Otherwise, the meal was super solid. I ordered a mocktail (highly recommend, I love a good mocktail menu!), shared an appetizer, and opted for a burger as my entree, and everything was delicious. I would definitely visit again to try more of the menu.

Early afternoon we both started getting a little hungry, The breakfast sandwiches from Dunkin' in Muscatine had run their course. I'd heard The Filling Station had a pretty good tenderloin at one time and their site and online menu looked pretty good. It was easy to find and their parking lot is HUGE. No problem finding a place to park on a Saturday afternoon... Two hostesses greeted us as we walked in. One of them seated us, gave us menus, and let us know a server would be with us soon. Don't expect a Michelin star environment. It's kind of old school casual sports bar. Lots of dark wood and neon signs. Lots of TVs. Seating is booths as well as both low and high top tables and chairs. There's the standard bar and stools too... Standard table service for ordering and payment. I didn't catch the young man's name who served us, but my receipt said Jordan so I hope that's correct... Jordan greeted us and let us know he would be our server. Took our drink order, and let us know about a couple items on the menu. The tenderloin and wings. A couple minutes later he was back with our drinks and answered a couple questions we had on the menu. I ordered the breaded tenderloin and fries and Heather ordered the cheese curd burger with frie and a side of ranch. While we waited for our order Jordan checked in on us now and then and kept us updated. Our drinks (a tea and water) never hit the bottom of the glass. Our order hit the table hot and fresh! It was easy to tell the tenderloin, cheese curds on the burger, and fries were right out of the fryer. The tenderloin is 3/4 of a pound and served on an 8 inch bun. It's nice to see a bun that is some semblance of proportional to a large tenderloin... That being said... I think it is a true tenderloin and not a fritter. BUT it is pounded a little more thin than what I normally like... I could see why some people in other reviews, and on other sites, would mistakenly call this a fritter. It's a couple of whacks from getting the point of ground up pork. The taste was on point, but as I ate it I could feel it getting dryer and it was harder to eat when I got to the last of it. I think leaving the 'loin a little thicker would eliminate this happening... Just a thought. I'd still order it again as is. Heather really liked her cheese curd burger too. I'm sure the ranch was originally intended for the curds or the fries, but she said adding it to the burger made it even better... I'll leave that one alone... Chicken...sure. I'm not sure how I feel about the combination of good beef and ranch. Lol Prices were reasonable and Jordan stayed on top of everything the entire meal. Couldn't have asked for a better server! We had a stellar first visit to The Filling Station... I'm going to hit those breaded wings the next time we're in town!

It's large enough for 3 people to share, as there were 2 of us and we had some left over to take home. Brian Olsen has pizza on lock! He is a master at his craft. These pizzas have an amazing flavor, terrific crust and quality ingredients. They serve burgers and a chicken sandwiche, too! We ordered 3 different pizzas... one with garlic cream sauce and green peppers, one with pepperoni, sausage & red peppers and another specialty pizza with the hot honey & arugula with pepperoni and Calabrian chili's. Man, that was some good Za!! Claire was our server and she was terrific, too! Clearing dirty plates, refreshing silverware and beverages. Terrific attitude! All in all, Bettendorf has an amazing pizza restaurant that the locals should be grateful for in their own neighborhood! And, Smash serves beer, wine, and cocktails, too. I wish I lived closer. I'd become a regular and dine in often! Whenever I'm back in town, I'll be sure to stop by to try some different specialty pies, like the elote pie. That one sounded really good! So did the za with wild mushroom & kale!! Maybe one day Smash will create a taco pizza to compete with Happy Joe's, rip Joe Whitey. But, seriously, there is no comparison between the two. Smash is hands down one of the best pizza restaurants in the QC's and is better that many BIG city pizza spots. Thanks for the good time, great food & service!!
