This tiny place feeds my nerd itch. I have been there once…read morebefore and enjoyed it and this time didn't disappoint either. Everything is organized but spread throughout the store. I enjoy that as it gets me to look at things I normally may not. They have a great selection of physical media and records. They even have a few comics and board games. I will say the prices are a little high but this is a physical location in a beautiful neighborhood by the beach so I am not complaining. The owner (I assume) was really cool on checkout, even chatted me up a little. I will definitely go here again.

Walking back to the parking lot is when I decided to just pop my head in and was pleasantly surprised. They not only sell books, but everything else spiritual, from statues to stones to anything else in the spiritual realm, Buddhist to Christian. There was one employee behind the counter that I could see. He sounded extremely knowledgeable about the merchandise. I overheard him speaking to a couple other customers, letting them know he was happy to help them look for anything in particular they were searching for. He could tell I was primarily window shopping, not looking for anything special. I noticed they were selling some interesting wall hanging that were reasonably priced. If you're in the area, I recommend visiting.

The reasonable pricing, consistently friendly people and great finds kick-started their love for thrifting. Today I was admiring a lovely pair of 1940's Bakelite earrings in a locked case. Even though I managed to control myself and walk away, my enabler husband asked to see them. It turns out the woman who helped him was the vendor for that section. She was so kind to offer me a discount, which of course I couldn't refuse. :) It's such a wonderfully nostalgic place -- we'll always be back!

I like to spend Fathers Day alone so I can go to all the places I want without my wife and kids…read morebothering me. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that this year because my family and I were traveling together in Santa Barbara and Solvang. However, I still got to decide where to go, so I decided to find the nearest record store after our lunch. This is the first one that popped up on my Yelp search, and I can see why. This place isn't that big but carries some really hard to find items, at least the stuff that I like. I found some old records from the 80s that I couldn't find at any other place near where I live. I found Ministry's "With Sympathy" and Stryper's "Soldiers Under Command." There were many other rare items that I wanted to buy but I had to keep my my budget in check. Store was well organized by genre. The owner was friendly and fun to talk to. Will have to come back here on my next visit to Santa Barbara. Because my kids were with me, I couldn't spend too much time in the store. I will just send my wife and kids to the museum across the street while I browse here.
