Rooms were clean, comfortable beds and the bath towels are thick and absorbent; something you don't expect from small motels. Oh, and there were two towels per bed, more if you needed! Tv, WiFi, and ability to connect your streaming services with Coffee service in our room. We had a kitchenette setup but didn't need. Short walk to town with several historical items from Lewis & Clark, Sacajawea, old west buildings and a beautiful Veterans Memorial across the street. We'll be back next year!

No longer spending way to much in Hamilton Montana for a chain hotel that is not as clean as what Mountain Spirit Inn offers at a afforable price. Sadly I see a hateful review a one star from a disgruntled individual who is well known in this small town. Kinda like Yellowstone being filmed in Darby. How cool!! I take what this person says as a grain of salt. Toss it over your shoulder and move on to truthful reviews. I was here this winter when this person stayed here for quite awhile due to lack of affordable housing. The owner gives folks the respect you need for privacy by allowing a do not disturb sign to be hung. So if you dont let housekeeping in to freshen room or replace towels then thats a You problem. It is a very disgruntled person who wrote this review. So without this quaint clean motel I guess this dude would of been?? Gratitude matters not whiney folks that act entitled for their poor choices and lack of manners. Its much better to stay at Mountain Spirit Inn than be on the street homeless in the dead of winter. Never have I seen such a disgusting review full of deceitful statements. If you were so unhappy then why didn't you check out sir?? Never have I had a problem in over 4 years and if I did the owner resolves it to the best of there ability. One of the few places I've stayed that always washes the bedspread, blankets etc after each person's check out. This is a quaint motel that fits budget minded customers with a home away from home stay. I pray the 1 star complainer receives the blessings he needs in his life to be thankful for not being homeless in Darby because the owner offered him a place to stayed at this motel. Trish answered the phone right away and went out of her way to help make their stay one to remember. The breakfast served each day was out of this world - Trish loves to cook and it shows. She even invited the extended family members to join them for breakfast one morning simply because she wanted to make a recipe that serves a bigger group. We were immediately greeted by the host, Jason, which led us to the room. He was extremely friendly in showing us around and they let us roam freely on the grounds down to the river and meet all their little chickens. We stood in the west slope suite which was very cute and the bed was extremely comfortable. They give a lot of pillows, blanket, toilet paper, towels etc. I would not consider the room to be a cabin or anything of the sort, it is quite literally a room with a bathroom. The bathroom is huge and has a nice jacuzzi tub. There room is attached to the main house so it doesn't feel private at all which is when my only complaint goes to. I do like to feel a bit more secluded and private and not feel like I'm intruding on someone's home or property even though you're paying to stay there. It does feel a bit awkward at times. The hosts once again are amazing and very attentive when we needed anything at all they responded extremely fast and went above and beyond to help us with anything. His wife Toni is very responsive when it comes to texting and our phone call to her , she made us feel heard and safe as us people coming in from the city. It's always a little scary staying out in the middle of nowhere but once again they made us feel very safe. The hot tub is very nice but it is on the back deck of the main house which again didn't feel private but that's just my own preference of things.

There are two kinds of spots, those with full hookups and those with water and power only. The ones without sewer are down by the river amongst the trees and this is where we stayed, right next to the river. Very relaxing. The site is nicely landscaped and maintained, with plenty of grass and trees dotted around. There is a slipway if you have a small boat. The river can also be fished and the on site general store sells all kinds of fishing gear, as well as many other things, including locally sourced preserves and honey. I bought a jar of the organic salsa and it was so good that I ate it all in one sitting. The store also sells souvenir items and alcoholic beverages, including local Montana brews - so I had to try some - very good! They also sell propane. The staff in the store are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is a 'restroom, shower and laundry' block on site - I didn't use the laundry, but the showers are nice, you are provided a code to get in. There are also poop bags provided and doggy waste collection container. The rear area of the site by the river is behind a lift up barrier and you are provided a card to operate this to get in, it automatically lets you out. There are nice views of mountains in the distance and a cycle path all the way to Missoula if you want to go that far... We've certainly enjoyed our stay here so far and would recommend it to anyone.

At about 9:30 PM, I was sitting in my RV when I looked outside and walking up the road, about 20' from us was a HUGE Bull Moose! It stood at least 6' at the shoulder and had the largest rack I have ever seen! From ground to the tip of the rack he was easily at least 10'! I'd say between 600-800 lbs! He casually walked through the camp like he owned the place, walked to the fence and leaped over to the neighbors property. He was BEAUTIFUL! You won't see that in Seattle, Portland, New York, or even Missoula!
