The occasion: viewing the incredible "Keith Haring: Grace House Mural" exhibition at MCA Denver back in 2021. Towards the end of my visit, I went upstairs to the rooftop and purchased a bottle of Big B's organic lemonade. Organic ingredients include lemon juice, cane sugar, whole lemons and apple juice, along with filtered water and natural flavor. What I loved about this lemonade is the citrus essence was great, it was not cloyingly sweet (more moderately sweet), and the apple juice gave it a welcome, totally different taste not found in most lemonades. Drinking this delicious lemonade was a great way to cap off an enjoyable visit to the museum. On a different note, I didn't realize Hotchkiss, Colorado is actually closer to Utah than Denver. It's about 236 miles away from Denver. But if I'm ever taking a road trip, I would like to visit Big B's Delicious Orchards.

Kebler Corner is one of those places you know is special the second you pull over. It sits along a…read morestunning stretch of Colorado landscape at celebrated Kebler Pass. Quiet. Cinematic. Effortlessly beautiful. This is the exact spot where you turn for the long, winding road toward Crested Butte, cutting straight through what is the greatest aspen stand in the world. I haven't been received by the hotel yet, but honestly, based on location alone, it's a future no-brainer. When those aspens go golden in the fall, this area is unreal. There's something magical about being right at the gateway to that drive. For anyone who loves Colorado the way New Yorkers love a great view and a great story, Kebler Corner already earns five stars.

They have a nice clean bathroom that is only available to customers; I found a cute pair of earrings for $10 and used the bathroom before shipping out. I didn't have the highest expectations going into our trip to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National…read morePark. I didn't know too much about the park and was a bit disappointed that we had to nix the plans to do our large hike in the North Rim of the park. That being said, BCGNP far surpassed all expectations on just our very first overlook - Tomichi Point - within minutes of driving into the South Rim. I was not prepared for the sheer beauty of the canyons. The South Rim is so very different from the North Rim, so if you only have time to go to one, make sure to do your research. The South Rim is much more developed, more popular, has plenty of tiny hikes and overlooks, and brings the easy, classic beauty. The South Rim drive is an easy 7 miles and features 12 overlooks with the longest hike to the overlook being about 0.5 of a mile. And most of the hikes are more like walks. Stunning views, perfect for sunset. You'll also find the BCGNP visitor center on the South Rim drive. The North Rim is much more underdeveloped and less visited. We visited in the late afternoon and only ran into one other group of people while driving their scenic North Rim drive. I believe it's about 4.5 miles, and it is unpaved - that being said, we drove it in a Toyota Corolla without any issues. These overlooks are equally gorgeous but give you a different perspective of the canyon. You'll find a lot of the bigger hikes in the North Rim. While we weren't able to fit one into our schedule, we did do part of the North Vista Trail to see Exclamation Point - wonderful hike, wish we had been able to do the full trail. Overall, I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I visited Black Canyon of the Gunnison, but it definitely wasn't how breathtakingly beautiful this park is. 100% worth a stop, and if all you do is stop at their overlooks, you will still get to experience so much beauty.

So they're lying to try to make customers upgrade for an unnecessary cost. They should be embarrassed. If you don't want to allow JetBoils then say that but don't lie to make it sound like they're not allowed when the county says they're okay.

It was super easy to check in and they were kind enough to let us check in early (11:45am) They do offer cabin rentals, RV sites and tent sites. Our Site: We got a tent site and it was pretty big. A bit bigger than the rest and it was perfect for our party of 4. You can only bring one tent and it has to be on the tent pad so extra tents or any tents placed other than the tent pad are not allowed. Which was a huge bummer. We were 2 couples with 2 tents and had to purchase a bigger tent to fit all of us in it to fit on the pad. All in all we made it work. Parking: You have to register all vehicles that are staying in the campsite and only one car is allowed per site, which is somewhat of an inconvenience. Any extra vehicles are $5 more. We were told to park the extra vehicle in the extra parking spaces that were far away from our site. Bathrooms and Showers: They only have Male and Female bathrooms and showers an no gender neutral bathrooms or showers, so it can be very uncomfortable for masculine presenting women to go to the bathroom. They did say they had just remodeled the entire place so they completely missed the opportunity to be more inclusive. However, the bathrooms were very clean, and the showers were really nice. We did bring our own bathroom tent to avoid any type of uncomfortable encounters when having to use the little girls room and were told we could not have it bc they were trying to grow grass and any bodily fluids would be harmful to the soil. So we had to put our toilet away :( Each site has a fire pit and the camp ground offers wifi and a little convenient store. They do come around every other hour or so on their golf-cars selling fire wood and making sure everyone is following the rules. I honestly loved this place and would come back. The town's nearby are gorgeous and the staff here is super nice.

THE GOOD: The host just couldn't be nicer or more helpful. LOTS of open, nicely maintained lawn…read morespace. Good individual lawns at most campsites. Easy in and out and backing into the spaces is pretty easy. Quiet with lots of mature trees for shade. Surrounded almost exclusively by horse pastures. Relaxing! THE BAD: Not much. No fire pits at the campsites and we like a fire in the evenings. The WiFi doesn't cover the vast majority of the campsites. We like camping here but need connectivity for remote work sometimes. Wish the owners would make that investment and extend the WiFi coverage. We camp here two or three times a year and would likely be more, and for more nights, if there was WiFi. Perhaps if they put in fire pits they could make enough money selling firewood to partially pay for the WiFi?

The campground is right off the road so you can hear traffic going by into the evening and night, which was a bummer; the view was slightly less meaningful when listening to the sound of tractor trailers barreling bye. They gave me maps of the area and let me know about the firewood available for purchase ($7 at the time) There is a nice little stream that runs next to the grounds. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and permanent fire pit with attached grill. At one point a group of turkeys patrolled the site. Was super cute!

We had an amazing time this morning doing the half day kayaking tour on the Gunnison River. It…read morejust so happened we were the only 2 people signed up, so we effectively had a private tour. I kayak quite a bit, but mainly on flat water, so the guide (whose name I sadly cannot remember) gave me a lot of paddling hints and taught me a lot about reading water conditions and how to approach water features. I will definitely be putting her advice into practice at home. My husband, who is less experienced, also had a wonderful time. I could not recommend this experience more!

We had the BEST time on our half day family rafting trip on the Gunnison River while we were…read morevisiting from AZ. Daniel and Gordon were both wonderfully friendly people to work with and get to know and made the whole experience so easy and pleasant!! We had our 11 year old and 3 year old with us (and 3 adults) and we weren't sure how the kids would do, but they absolutely LOVED IT!! They even jumped in the water at one point AND even got to help row a bit. :) We cannot wait to go back to CO and spend more time on the river. If you do a rafting or paddleboard trip, make sure to stop in Paonia for some yummy ice cream after at Ollie's! :)
