I first became acquainted with Big B's while visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art in the Lower Downtown section of Denver a few years ago. The occasion: viewing the incredible "Keith Haring: Grace House Mural" exhibition at MCA Denver back in 2021. Towards the end of my visit, I went upstairs to the rooftop and purchased a bottle of Big B's organic lemonade. Organic ingredients include lemon juice, cane sugar, whole lemons and apple juice, along with filtered water and natural flavor. What I loved about this lemonade is the citrus essence was great, it was not cloyingly sweet (more moderately sweet), and the apple juice gave it a welcome, totally different taste not found in most lemonades. Drinking this delicious lemonade was a great way to cap off an enjoyable visit to the museum. On a different note, I didn't realize Hotchkiss, Colorado is actually closer to Utah than Denver. It's about 236 miles away from Denver. But if I'm ever taking a road trip, I would like to visit Big B's Delicious Orchards. read more

Big B's is a truly awesome place. I have been there for tent camping by one of the ponds as well as for food and drink in the main building. I have also purchased their cider in other venues. Camping is awesome with incredible views and solitude depending on how many other people are camping. The ponds and kayaks are so much fun. The cider is excellent and service is friendly. I would definitely go back and hope to go to one other concert sometime in the summer. read more

We stopped here on our way to Ouray on a road trip. We loved it soooo much that we had to come back again on the way back!!! It's a beautiful spot nestled with beautiful trees and orchards. Our kids did not want to leave their amazing rope swings. They also had a delicious menu of food! I loved the tacos and burrito bowl. My fam loved their burger, chicken tenders and frozen lemonade! Had a blast camping in the orchard for Dogs in a Pile. I drove from the northeast and was really taken back by how nice Big Bs orchard is. Really good and unique spot to catch music, pick fruit, swing on swings, or eat a home cooked meal. The only bummer was the amount of flies in the orchard constantly biting me. It was annoying but with spoiled produce on the orchards ground that is bound to happen. I had a blast overall and wish i took advantage of the brisket sandwiches and cole slaw but i wasn't particularly hungry. People get exceptionally hoggish with chairs and drape things over them just so others dont use them closeby. Kids running and screaming everywhere during the concert was a buzzkill but overall this was an awesomely unique experience for a concert-goer such as myself. I enjoyed camping in the Apricot grove, would have been cool to be there a month before with ripe apricots all around. Apricot trees were totally empty by 8/8/25. read more

Stayed in Paonia for 5 days recently and stopped by Big B's twice. The first time was on Saturday when they had live music. If this was a review of the atmosphere I would probably say it's a 4 or 5 stars. Very cool vibe with lots for kids (and young at heart) to have fun with. Service was good. You order inside and they give you a buzzer that you bring in to pick up your food when it's done. In the two visits, my wife and I had the burger, the brisket sandwich, poutine, pork green chili, fries, and potato salad. Burger was decent. Very lettuce/topping forward but was enjoyable enough. Not sure I would go as far as saying it was "delicious" as it's described on their menu but there's so many burgers out there that it's hard to stand out. This was fairly average but that's not really an indictment. Brisket sandwich tasted good but it was too fatty with the kind of fat that isn't rendered. Being a BBQ fan and at-home enthusiast, I appreciate a well rendered brisket, but I suspect they aren't trimming as aggressively as I would prefer prior to cooking so there is that thicker fat that isn't really rendered out. Poutine was fine. I was just excited to see it on an American menu. Pork green chili was good. Would have it again. Fries were solid. Potato salad was good but more onions than I personally prefer. Wouldn't hold that against them though. Try one of their hard ciders because they're good. read more

I've come here a few times and all have been great. They have live music each weekend and a large seating area which makes it perfect for groups. Their drinks and food are both great. Cimaron at the bar was super helpful and made me feel welcome all three times I was there. Their camp sites are well priced and roomy. If you are sharing with some friends it usually only comes out to around 10 dollars a night. read more

Stopped by for a sandwich and cider with my small well behaved dog on a leash. There was literally a 150 pound Mastiff sitting in the room where orders are placed. We introduced the dogs to each other and were chatting while we waited to place our orders. A young girl behind the counter was way to excited to advise me that my little dog was not allowed in the establishment without service dog credentials. So happy to have found this little gem. The orchard is amazing. The openness of the venue and what they've done to the place is perfect. The stage, swings, and atmosphere definitely made me want to come back for more. We both really enjoyed our sandwiches (Rueben + chicken). Love that their ciders aren't too sweet and they have a good selection. My favorite was the spicy cherry. They also have a market/store where they sell local goods and produce. Decent burger and fries (not award-winning, but good enough for a small cafe/bistro), and better than average grilled cheese and tomato soup. We split the soup - it was the best part of the two meals. The wine (house red, locally produced), and the hard cider (made by Big B's) were both very good and worth coming back for. Service was excellent and quick. The shop adjacent to the cafe was fun and interesting - lots of crafts and beverages, and a small farmers market section. I'd make this a regular stop on the way up and over McClure Pass, coming west or going east. It's also a frequent music venue during summer months and they have a campground and RV/Camper site that looks like a lot of fun. read more

We camped here for a night during a fall trip. The location is perfect for hitting up the local wineries, and Big B's was an awesome spot to land for the night. They had delicious ciders and a lively outdoor area with a stage. Karaoke was on fire the night we were there. Camping in the orchard was a cool experience too! Staying at a Yurt within walking distance to Delicious Orchards our hosts suggested a Sunday afternoon/evening BBQ that DO was doing with live music and food to purchase. We chose to check it out. The place itself is charming and there are a ton of activities if you will to partake in while you are visiting including, eating/drinking/fruit picking/and in our case enjoying some live music. The outside area is pretty large and very welcoming - just kind of comfortable. Definitely the type of place you could go any day of the week in almost any attire and no one would say a thing to you nor would you feel out of place. We chose to enjoy (maybe one too many haha) of the Harvest Apple Ciders on draft. Now, hear me out Yelpers I don't get cider, I just don't generally like it. In fact the only other cider I like....Bantam out of Mass! Otherwise, it all tastes like crap to me. Beer - Yes! Liquor for the most part - Yes! Wine - Yes! But cider has also eluded me until Bantam and Big B's. We loved it so very much we brought a 6-pack back to Denver with us. It was light and refreshing and just sweet enough without being to tart or overly sugary. I was impressed! While there, we enjoyed a cheeseburger and a sausage that they were selling along with a some sides. All were fairly reasonable in cost and pretty much in line with what I expected - nothing life changing just good BBQ type food. The music however, was amazing! A guy who I believe was from the area but in from New Orleans was there and incredible to listen to live! I will say the one negative to the place was while it's good to have a spot to be able to roll up to no matter what - the locals did seem to notice the outsiders which can make for an uncomfortable experience depending on who you are. Also, most of the staff was wonderful however, the bartender inside was kind of "grumpy" if you will. Overall, unless you are a local you may no know this place exists however, if you are in the area it is definitely worth a stop if nothing else for some take home cider!!! read more

This place is so fun! We came for lunch one day and for live music another night! For lunch, I had the blue cheese salad which was sooo fresh. I highly recommend trying the slosy (frozen cocktail) too. The area is so nice with big trees, orchards, and spacious seating. Kids can enjoy swings and there is enough space for dancing. I arrived at Big B's very late in the fruit producing season. As expected their fruit selection was limited, but was good quality fruit. There was a lot more there than simple fruit sales. They have their own campground, limited restaurant, and wine tasting. I was happy with their friendly service, and will return to Big B's Orchards when I return to Colorado. I did not try their wine tasting cus I had many miles to drive that afternoon. read more

We picked up BLT sandwiches for a picnic in Marble. They used kale instead of lettuce. Kale was tough and bitter. Menu specifically says lettuce. Kale is not lettuce. We were on the way to Black Canyon and saw this place right off the road and decided to stop by for a quick bite. Wow! What a hidden gem! This is the place of high quality and good taste - great music, great decor with local produce goods, great food! The place has cool artistic vibes with a lot of cute things for sale. We tried brisket and reuben and omg let me tell you!!This is real farm to table experience, quality of Michelin star meats. We also tried local cider and ice cream which both were really fantastic and tasted organic. They have a farm right on the back where they grow strawberries, eggplants, tomatoes and other stuff. I grew up on pick-your-own fruit. Many summer mornings, my mom and I would go off in search of plentiful fruit and cheap prices. We gathered blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, peaches, apples. We stained our finger and mouths with berry juice, took home baskets and pints and crates of freshness, and baked to our heart's content. I've tried to keep the spirit alive, but pick-your-own seems to be going the way of roadside produce stands and VHS tapes. Still, I'm fortunate to live close to the rich and nurturing soil of Colorado's Grand Valley. Stretching from Grand Junction to Paonia and encompassing orchards, vineyards, and beautiful vistas, the Grand Valley was a new and undiscovered area for me. I wanted to pick apples, Eric was home from work, and so off we went. Delicious Orchards was my pick from the very beginning. I may be old-fashioned in some ways, but I like to do my research beforehand and Delicious seems to be the only place in the area that has a good website. I called the morning before we visited and they were incredibly helpful and friendly. They told me apple conditions (plentiful!) and field conditions (muddy!) and gave me directions when, halfway there, I feared we were lost (we weren't!). Delicious has a huge orchard of organic apples in different varieties (Macintosh, Fuji, Red and Golden Delicious, Pink Lady) along with pears, cherries, a huge farm store full of both local and their own organic produce, a little cafe where I enjoyed a most delicious quiche (seriously...it was AWESOME!), and a wine-tasting area. The girl who did our wine tasting was great...incredibly relatable because she wasn't an expert. She learned about wine on the job, didn't use any terms that were over our heads, and set us up with a fantastic bottle of local red. A bottle of wine and 30 pounds of apples set us back $36. Awesome! That weekend, they were also doing a Harvest Fest, which included music, BBQ, and the stunning price of 50 cent/lb for apples (when we visited they were 99 cents/lb). Overall, it was a lovely experience, gave me a little hit of nostalgia, and didn't hurt the wallet. I'll be back next year...and for years to come. My kids will love it :) read more

Big, ambitious place. Interesting food options - specials, sandwiches, salads, etc. Choose simply and wisely and it will work out. The real draw is the chance to taste all their various hard ciders, including some small batch/barrel aged items. Really big range of dryness, flavors, sources, tastes - impressive! What is this place?? An oasis?? I was super surprised to find an organic cidery tucked away near Hotchkiss. My wife and I stopped in and loved it. Amazing, peaceful setting and really good cider. There are indeed some cool bucket-lid swings hanging from the trees that people are free to go hurt themselves on. (We did not hurt ourselves. Please do not remove the swings.) We did the tasting, which, as a minor drawback, was overshadowed by the apparent annoyance of the bartender lady. It felt as though she did not want us to try them all and wanted us to move along. Strange. As you can read in other comments, there's lots of cool stuff here. I really wanted to try the pie, but we spent enough on cider for gifts that I didn't get to, this time. Although the cider is good, it is pricey, about $4.50 per pint-sized can. That's about average for organic, small-batch cider, but I thought it might be a bit cheaper at the source. And, as another minor observation, we saw cans of cider for sale outside during the live music event for 50 cents more than they cost inside. Come on! read more

As I was traveling through Colorado I found this hidden gem. They have a wide variety of organic products. Also they serve food and hard apple cider. I recommend trying a sample of all the ciders first. All there food is fresh and been right in front of you. The staff is nice and welcoming. read more

My family and I are Colorado natives and we thought this would be a great place to get some wine for friends and try some hard cider flights. The atmosphere was nice coming in, but service...AWFUL. The workers particularly the front desk women were so rude and looked at us like we weren't speaking English when we inquired about tasting their cider and wine...which is advertised everywhere on their building. The women helping us said she had to get someone else to help us and asked her other coworker that we were inquiring about a tasting and they looked at each other and smirked, as if it was a ridiculously thing for us to be asking. She said we would have to wait and almost didn't even want to check out the products we were already buying, and didn't give us a bag with the items we bought. Neither of them have no common sense or customer service qualities. A real shame, we decided to leave and not give anymore service to them and will be spreading the word to our locals about it. read more
