I typically don't like to give out reviews good or bad but let me tell you something that happened to me at this store. We don't live in the area (I was in need of some shorts or swing wear) We went in to the store to get a bathing suit and shorts. The following day I went back to the store to do a return and the guy said there's no returns only store credit (bummer) I stepped out of the store being a little upset because I had paid $175 for something that was not gonna be of any good use to me later. I returned to the store to get something else instead, when I come up to the register with the exchanged items, the same guy again (maybe he's the owner) says "I'm sorry, I can't do an exchange for the bathing suite (which he had seen when I first asked) claiming it was unsanitized bla bla bla and I repeat myself over and over that I had not worn it, it had the tags, I didn't even tried it at the store when before buying it (that's another thing) they don't even have a sign saying not try them on and yet he was claiming to me that it was unsanitiezed for him to accept the merchandise back. First, they don't have a sign at the bathing suite rack saying you can't exchange after purchasing even if you don't wear it. I insisted that I had not even taken the items out of the bag after I had purchased them. Second, he didn't tried to work with us the customer, we felt discriminated for being Hispanics and the prices are way too over priced. Too bad, we will not return to that store. read more

Perfect selection of all the fun stuff. A well curated disc, golf selection, great selection of shoes, skateboards, the works. This place has an amazing selection of skate and surf gear! The owner KRIS and his team are super friendly and very willing to help. They have gone above and beyond for me during COVID-19. I wanted some gifts for my family for Xmas and I could not make it into the shop. So KRIS the owner called me and gathered all the items I wanted and shipped them to me on his own time so they would make it to my house before Xmas! Amazing customer service and it's no wonder so many of his customers are so loyal to his shop. Great shop, just wish I lived in the area and could stop in more often. Love this shop and its staff. Have been in a number of times for a new wetsuit for my daughter and booties for the fam, among other things. Great selection of surf and skate gear and and as a bonus- an upgrade program for kids' wetsuits where you can trade in the one you bought there previously for half off a new one when they outgrow the previous one. Might be the only shop nearby, but with great service, great prices, and great products, that doesn't matter. Kris and the crew get my vote as a go to in Mendocino. read more

We were on a trip out to Fort Bragg and I made it a point to visit the local shop. I had needed a new deck and some hard goods, and put off replacing them until the visit. My wife and I entered the dark, disorganized shop to an employee behind the counter talking on the phone. I went to the skate counter directly in front of the counter he was standing at, and after a few moments of his loud phone conversation regarding pit bulls and partying, he had not made any effort to acknowledge me. We walked around a little more and found some other things to potentially purchase which I brought back to the skate counter, no acknowledgement by the employee. This went on for maybe 10 minutes, so I put the things back and we left without making a purchase, having never been greeted by the employee. The store missed out on a $200+ sale and left a really negative impression. They are located in a prime location in the center of a busy street, this is a golden opportunity. The layout of the store is dark and cluttered and customers need to be at least acknowledged. read more

Great little shop! A select few interesting & historical boards including a Zephyr. Got in for a new lid to add to my surf shop collection. My girls went nuts with shoes. Cannot justify any more boards, sadly. Misplaced a killer cashmere scarf while there. Backtracked the next day and the shop was cold, 10:00 am. Told the clerk we lost a scarf, he says this one? (around his neck). Was stoked it was there and they got some use out of it. Will be sending them some scarves to stay warm in the NorCal foggy summer. They are the only game in town for surf, skate and the like. Great selection of shoes, and always some on sale. The staff is friendly and helpful, sometimes you can even pet the owners dog!
