Grand Bayou Resort is a gem, in that it offers RV/Trailer and primitive campsites to the right once you pass the main security office. If you go left from the security office you will be greeted by cabins up the hill followed by lodges but may be a favorite or the bungalows toward the rear. *If you decide on the bungalows and need to up pack, you can access the bungalows from a parking lot nearby, but I recommend following the signs to their beach and drive up a small hill to unload your gear then you can keep straight and park in the lot. Security makes their rounds so your vehicle is safe. The staff is very friendly and will provide you with any information needed if you are not from the area. Walk around and be with nature. There is nothing like having a fresh cup of hot tea or coffee in the morning while sitting on the porch watching the sunlight dance on the waves. Almost forgot, time goes slow in these parts so if you are not going to make it to the resort by the time the office close, you will need to make arrangements because you will need a code to enter through the security gates.!!

The decor was not as outdated as it could be and you can see where they have touched things up over the years. It is a massive facility with other things to do besides gamble. The place smelled of smoke as I would expect from any casino/hotel. The Top Golf Suite cafe took an hour and a half to bring food and it made everyone in there mad as h*ll. Nobody understood how you couldn't be prepared for an influx of people due to a conference. The burger I ordered from there was ok but the fries were overcooked. Paragon disabled the hdmi capabilities of the tvs so don't bring your PlayStation or Xbox thinking you'll play any of that here. They don't have a do not disturb sign for your door. The water pressure on the shower may be the worst in the United States of America. The light above the toilet area inside the bathroom was supremely dim. Flashlight needed My room had a sour smell mixed with housekeeping cleaner that kind of settled down after I ran the AC through my room. Stains were everywhere on my carpet and sofa chair. For the second day of my stay the water coming out of all of my faucets were BROWN (pictured). I notified the front desk and they recommended to just run the water for a while...I started running water at 4:45 pm and it is still brown at 10:21 PM. My coworkers also had brown water issues. The bed was very comfortable though. The towels in the room were clean and the surfaces that really mattered like the bed and countertops were clean. Paragons ability to host a conference is not in question because the infrastructure is there to do it and the service was polite. The food served at the conference was good overall. The movie theater was clean and a great experience. I would've tried the spa but it was closed. Numerous certain areas of the hotel just had a snapshot of an absolutely putrid odor. Every time I walked past a certain smell I just got mad as h*ll lol. If your love is not totally with gambling and getting drunk like never before...I would just stay at the Hampton across the street and then visit Paragon for certain activities. If you really need to gamble, come to any of the hotels in Shreveport/Bossier....may be a fraction of the size of the Paragon but I can almost guarantee you'll be happier and cleaner. We arrived about 20 minutes after the buffet opened, and the place was packed; we waited just over an hour for a seat. If you arrive any later than when it opens, be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait for your table. The place is that popular. They have most anything you would expect on a southern buffet. My favorite selections included the crab legs, boudin balls, fried catfish, fried cabbage, the shrimp (boiled, spicy, and fried). I ate a ton and then rolled myself out of there. The service was great! The people working my table were friendly, smiling, and were quick to empty our plates of shells into the bin. For the next event- a band I didn't know and don't remember- I was RIGHT UP FRONT. And the lead singer seemed to take a liking to my friend, so she got special attention. That was fun. For both events the beer was expensive, but not hard to come by. The ticket prices vary by venue but aren't unreasonable. I do recommend this venue if you really want to see 'that band ' .

This venue is located on the same compound, and directly adjacent to the BBQ pit, Silver Star Smokehouse & Saloon. It is in the rural realm of Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott's hometown of Haughton, but is still in Bossier City, right off Highway 80 in close proximity also to Harrah's Louisiana Downs horserace track and casino and hotels. The Bossier City Police Department maintains a friendly and welcoming, but heavy presence here during shows. The setup here is amphitheater-style, and actually makes for a quite enjoyable and intimate live music experience. We were situated primarily and relatively in the back of the house, as it were. We could see, and definitely hear the acts just fine. And though, it's the middle of the summer, thankfully, even with all the bodies in attendance, the stage lights, and other various lighting systems overhead, it never got too killin' hot. There are plenty of long beer tubs, iced down and adequately staffed around the area, making it very easy to grab an ice cold tall boy! There is also a two-sided, long bar in a tiny saloon close by, also adequately staffed to mix up your favorite batch of poison. There are beers-a-poppin', drinks being slung, and barbacks running every which way. The place is in motion, and running like a top. This is a solidly-run production. Parking is free, self-service, no valet, and there's plenty of it. There are three clearly-marked parking sections that distinctly go the distance from closest to The Stage, to furthest away. And in that order, they are as follows: Paved asphalt, then Gravel, and then lastly, the lawn (or grass). For Pat Green, last night's phenomenal performance, we parked in the outer reaches of the grass. (Pat Green? Grass?...Green? Grass? Buuuuaaaahahahahaha!!!...C'mon, people!!! Work with me here!!) But even if you park at a distance on the property, the walk is a pleasant and short one to the entrance. Ticket prices are agreeably kind to the ol' wallet, and I would gladly return for another event at this location!

The DJ kept the energy high and did a great job mixing music that appealed to everyone, no matter their taste. That evening, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Jack Binion's. Our server, Austine, was exceptional--attentive, friendly, and truly helped make the dining experience memorable. While Lady Luck wasn't exactly on our side this trip, we still managed to hit the jackpot when it came to customer service. Anya at the Promotions Desk went above and beyond, providing outstanding service with a smile and making us feel genuinely valued as guests. From relaxing poolside to great food and exceptional hospitality, Horseshoe Casino made for a memorable Father's Day celebration. Give the cleaning a 5 out of 10. Restroom was a bit rough on the workmanship or repairs done. Wall paper peeling, caulking around the shower tube was not professionally done. Toilet has a small seat installed on it. Bed area - the door that connects to the other room had a liquid drip mark on it??? Not sure what it is. Small chairs had hardened stains on it on the seat and the arm rest. The bed looked clean. Didn't look under the sheets. I bring my own bedsheets and pillows. The mattress itself probably needs replacement. I can feel the coils. At this point stopped looking. For it being a Ceasars property with the history of Binion's, you'd think it would be maintained better. Even though its not Vegas with the Cesars brand alone should demand better quality in cleaning, and repairs. This has that Harrah's, Flamingo, Linq hotel feel to it. 1 to 3 star level hotel. I work and deal with furniture everyday so, when it comes to quality of workmanship, cleaning and the eye appeal of the furniture fabrics, surfaces, the finish (color of items) and functionality it instantly catches my eye. Overall I had a place to stay. I've stayed in worse places but also in better places. It was for one night only. If it was longer I would probably just driven the last 4 hrs to Dallas. My opinion.
