I work in the ER, and although I was sent home with steroids and antivirals, I still felt lost because many of my questions were unanswered and no one could give me a clear reason why it happened. I was told it could have been triggered by a virus, stress, or lack of sleep. Before starting acupuncture, the entire right side of my face was completely paralyzed. I could not smile at all, I could not close my eye, and I had to tape my eye shut every night to protect it. Watching your face change like that is incredibly hard and scary, and it affects you emotionally in ways people don't always understand. After finishing my steroids, I decided to start acupuncture with Dr. Lanie Quan, and I truly believe I came into the right hands. I am currently on session six and the difference has been incredible. No it was right there for her to see and she immediately knew what I needed. I showed up and showed them my card and they assured me they accepted my insurance, but since it was a Saturday, they would have to charge me the full $80 and would reimburse me the rest via check. I never received that check. When I called a month later to follow up, they said they don't take my insurance. I told them I never would've gone there if they had told me that from the beginning! Most every one takes Blue Cross PPO, but if they didn't, they could've simply told me so and I would've gone to virtually any other Chiropractor (as most take it). Instead, they took my money and deceived me. So as far as I'm concerned, this place is a total scam. I would give them zero stars, but that's not an option.
