We stopped in here to pick up last minute essentials for our trip up north. The store, while not huge like a Meijer or Walmart, was well-stocked with all the essentials, including a very nice "wine cellar" area and deli. The store was clean and had a good layout. I like these smaller town grocery stores like this one. They even sold paint supplies and home decor items. It was kind of unique and unexpected. I didn't expect to see something like that in a small town grocery store. I found everything I needed very easily even though I've never been in this store before. Prices were pretty low on everything and they had some incredible deals on local wines and beers, some Northern Michigan wine brands marked down to $5 per bottle. We picked up the few things we needed for our trip and were in and out of here within a few minutes. There was no line- this definitely was not Meijer or Walmart- and no wait, which I appreciated because I really just wanted to get back to the hotel. After all, my hot tub was waiting!

The checkout lane for a few items wasn't open. The lady wished the customer a merry Christmas Eve, but said nothing at all to me. I thought that was incredibly rude and disrespectful. These donuts are fresh made and quite often made while you wait for your order. They compare favorably to cider mill donuts in size and texture where there are multiple toppings to choose from to include the cinnamon sugar you get at cider mill's. Nice! If you are fan of these types of donuts, which I am, you should definately check this place to but be warned they are very popular on Saturdays and Sunday mornings with long lines out the door during peak tourist season in the summer. Now that there is, this one is fantastic for anything you're looking for! In particular, they have a really good produce section. Some of the biggest onions and yellowest bananas that I've ever seen!
