A Walmart is a Walmart is a Walmart. If you need something, they've probably got it, usually cheap, tho not always. And every town now seems to have one, even Tawas City. This one is pretty big. I wonder what they had to tear down to build it. Out front there is a gas station with the cheapest gas in town, at least that I could find. Walmart Supercenter - the front of the store - Department Stores Near Me - Tawas City, Michigan

Came here and nothing was hardly in stock. Asked employees and they were extremely rude to me and my family. We got back to where we were staying and one of the condiments was open. The second time we were here at the checkout lane the self checkout attendant was especially rude to us and would not let us check out with our items. When we come up here on vacation every year I will be shopping at Neiman's even if it is means paying a little more. read more

Basic smaller Walmart that has a fairly good grocery store and retail combo business. I am usually not a super big fan of this chain but in this instance this store is a godsend for this Northern Michigan area. In a part off the state where IGA's and Spartan stores rule, this is the most cost friendly grocery market around post Covid where most of the smaller grocery stores prices have gone through the roof. Here at least you are paying reasonable/fair prices in line with Metro Detroit which is the only option I have seen like this in the greater Oscoda/Tawas area. read more

Tawas- Terrible customer service. First: I did say about another transaction the employee I spoke to before needed some training. Apparently wrong thing to say. He hung up on me once, I called back asked the boys name and he hung up again. Called 2 more times it just rang and rang. Called a last time a girl named Anne picked up told me there were NO boys working there. I asked for mgmt and a coach Laura came on and said it was probably someone in electronics and she would go talk to them. Pretty sure without knowing who it was because apparently everyone is the operator, but she's gonna go tell him about phone etiquette. Thinking they're all liars and trying to appease me rather then fix the problem. read more

In the mostly resort town of Tawas on Tawas Bay. Large lot, shared with a gas station and McDonalds. It is branded as a supercenter but is more of a marketplace. Small and inferior produce and beer selection, okay frozen, meat, and dry groceries. Smaller selections of hardgoods, but a lot of grills and outdoor/hunting items. The employees are slow and good at evading eye contact. read more

I'm writing specifically to compliment the bakery and its manager, Tammy. She and her staff have produced special occasion cakes we have ordered for years. They are delicious and beautifully decorated. If there was an occasional miscommunication on decoration, she has expertly "fixed" the problem while I shopped. I went to the Tawas Michigan SuperStore, looking for a Zero Water Filter. None on the shelf! I was by the candle section when I came upon a Employee Penny super nice and very professional helping and steering me in the right direction to find a Zero water filter which she thought may be in the back . She called the section who takes care of the Filters and Cody is the person put forth the employee customer service we have never had at this store he was talking back and forth with Penny that he was almost sure he had seen some in the back, but he had to move some boxes and he would almost sure find them! Penny kept us from leaving assuring us Cody would find the and he kept assuring her thru the head phone, Cody not only found one but 4-double boxes and put them on the shelf, after Penny and Cody said how sorry they were that it took 10 minutes. They both Thanked us for shopping at Walmart Tawas SuperStore! Thank you Penny and Cody!!! You saved the day! read more

No mask required in Tawas Walmart. Nice entrance for check in but when a family of 4 was asked if they had a mask they proudly said no and walk right in. Not inforced in Tawas. Will not ever return! read more

I cannot believe the rude employees I come across every time I shop there. The store itself is nicely laid out and clean.. aside from the restrooms that are always in need of cleaning. My biggest complaint is the rude cashiers. Not your typical friendly Tawas area employees I see everywhere else. read more

They do not stock many common ink carttidges. You can find larger size for twice the price . Asked salesperson if they had more, no we do not. You can order online for store pickup. Drove 40 miles home, ordered online, was informed you can pick up now. NOT...was supposed to be in store 2 days later...got email, order delayed 5 to 7 days. Tried to cancel, was informed they would attempt to cancel, no guarantee...you may still be charged for and receive the item. Will not order online ever again....if they don't have it, I will purchase elsewhere. Prices reasonable inventory severely lacking, zero customer service. Every other Walmart I've been to is far better than this one. Either they don't carry an item or brand that is popular, or they carry it and then abruptly stop. Recently I went looking for blue cheese and was told they had stopped carrying any. Of course they have FOUR different types of Feta available in one section and then two rows of Feta in another... So what is up with that?! The employees at this Walmart are great. Really helpful and friendly. read more

Just went to the self check out and behold it didn't work worth crap. Thought I would go to another one but two of them were out of order. I said to one of the ladies working there, you people need to report these machines. She said we do all the time but no one does anything about them. this store is dirty and the stock is not kept up. A bunch of us go to the West Branch store because they know how to run a business. read more

This particular store is more like a ghetto-mart....dirty with narrow aisles.. Too bad they used a beautiful piece of land looking over the water to build such a nasty store. read more
