The parking lot has very few handicapped parking spaces. The entry to the building has a sensor on the right of the building. which opens the door to the left side of the building which is approximately 6 feet away. At the end of all scheduled appointments, I was advised to continue with Fyzical on a weekly basis. It was at this time, (after three months) that the front desk advised me the copay had actually been $75 all along, and that I owed them a large balance. Apparently they had gotten it wrong and decided to just let me go into debt instead of saying anything. Now I'm stuck with a bill over $600. I should have just learned some exercises on YouTube. She had fallen and they thought she had fractured her right elbow. After she was sent to the ER, her provider called the ER twice (first speaking to triage nurse, Sarah, and then to her nurse, Mina) to tell them that my mom has advancing dementia, so she does not have the capacity to give consent. She also told them to contact me before they did anything because I am her POA and health care proxy. During that afternoon I received numerous MyChart notifications for tests being done. For the first few hours they were x-rays, but then it changed to blood tests, ekg, and a chest x-ray. After I got out of work my husband and I went to the ER and it is a good thing that we did. When we walked into my mom's room Dr. Guizano was telling my mom that she was being admitted for surgery. I said no she is not. The ER was explicitly told to get her elbow stabilized and send her back. He said ok and walked out of the room. In his notes he wrote family is "aware of risk-benefit". At no time did he have a conversation with us regarding this. Dr. Howell in his notes stated that "patient verbalizes understanding" in consenting to x-rays and an ecg. She does not have the capacity to understand or consent to anything. At no time during this day was I called or consulted regarding her treatment. My mom is extremely frail and has bad reactions to anesthesia. The risk of surgery is too great. Had I not got there when I did, there is a good chance she would not have made it through the surgery. It is appalling that this took place. Protocol was not followed. The elderly rely on others to look out for their needs. This was not done in this case. I will be looking into what options we have.

After the paperwork was completed and turned in I had to wait 16 minutes after my appointed time. When I met Lisa she was very abrupt with me and acted very bizarre and not very welcoming. I had initially told body works / Lisa that I was in a wheelchair. When she met me and I had stated I was in a wheelchair, she asked me how did I transfer out of the chair normally I told her I use a sit to stand in my home and I had brought my aid with me to help if I needed assistance out of this chair during my appointment. She stated in a very abrupt manner,.. what is a sit to stand., as she stood in front of me intimidatingly. Although her manner was abrupt I followed her into her gym and she proceeded to ask me questions in a very clipped manner, I began to feel uncomfortable. She continued to ask me questions about my condition and I patiently responded, at one point she needed to go get her stand and stool that I assume she normally uses. While she was gone I made myself comfortable by one of her mats in the gym. When she came back she seemed unnerved that I had apparently sat in the spot that she normally inhabits. I quickly stated that I could move but she emphatically stated back to me no that's not necessary as she continued to look unnerved. I simply moved and she quickly took the spot that I had been in. And appeared to be more comfortable at that time,.. but she continued to question me about the sit the stand that I had mentioned. I was at that point becoming very uncomfortable but wanted to have a good experience from my initial therapy with body works. We eventually or I should say she eventually pulled up on her laptop what I said the stand was and proceeded to say, nice you have one of these. She even stated the amount at the time,.. since she was so curious about it I offered to bring it in for my sessions and she said how would you be able to do that and I stated that I had a wheelchair van that would be able to bring it. She proceeded to say wow that's very nice for you. At this time I'm not quite sure where all of this was leading. During part of our conversation she asked me if my legs moved and I stated that they did not and she bizarrely said to me that you really can't move your legs. I can go on but I'm not really sure what her problem was but eventually I asked if they was anyone else that I could work with and she stated yes.. which I intern said that would probably be a good idea. A young lady came out from the back her behavior was appropriate and she seemed to have a better demeanor then Lisa whom had told me that she was the owner. No matter what it seemed I was going to have to be evaluated by Lisa initially by this time I was over it. I wasn't feeling very welcomed and I promptly told Lisa that it probably was not going to be a good fit. I recently had abdominal surgery June 6th of this year and I have been looking forward to going to body works. I was looking forward to strengthening my muscles after the surgery. I don't know if Lisa was off put by me being disabled in a wheelchair and my limbs not working to full capacity., but I know that I wasn't made to feel comfortable and welcomed. I will say the receptionist that greeted us was nice before I met the owner.

Husband was there for 2 weeks before he got an infection and had to be readmitted to the hospital…read more Took over a hour after he was told he would be going to hospital before the ambulance was called. Their excuse was they had to wait for the doctor to ok it. When he got to the ER they had to shock him twice because of high heart rate and low BP due to the infection. Food was always cold. Medicine not given on a regular basis. Colostomy bag was not emptied when he told them it was full. Once they didnt change it for 2 hoursafter he asked that it be emptied. Staff was pleasant enough but did not seem to care about the quality of care they gave. After he was released from the hospital we were fortunate to find a different place for his rehab. Would not recommend it to anyone.

My dad was there for about three weeks. On his second night, he had to be sent to the hospital because his roommate caused his G-tube to be pulled out of his side. For at least five days his call button did not work, and I was the one who discovered it. My dad could not get out of bed on his own. If he had aspirated on mucus or needed urgent help, no one would have known. He also had a catheter, and his urine became extremely dark--almost like mud. It appeared that no one noticed this or tested it. Shortly after, his condition rapidly declined and he had to be sent to the hospital. What was most upsetting was the lack of communication. No one from the facility called me. The hospital was the one who notified me. I called and left messages for the unit manager and the social worker, but neither returned my calls. My dad ended up in the ICU and passed away two days later. Families trust facilities like this to care for people who cannot care for themselves. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others to ask a lot of questions before placing a loved one here.
