I just recently stumbled across Perfect Balance Yoga. Two reasons brought me to this studio…read more First it's close to my work. And second they have more class options that fit into my schedule. I had tried this studio when I first got into yoga. My experience was good but at that time I was looking for something else in my practice.. Well I didn't realize what I was looking for was there the whole time just in a different way. I've come to realize lately that I need a more challenging practice mind, body and soul. And Giovanni is the one who has opened that up to me. The way he teaches and explains movement is so detailed I can close my eyes and listen and adjust my body as need be. When he comes around to correct or aid in some spot or comfort so me as a student can trust and allow to let go, my body can release and go places I never thought was possible. I have too jumped into a basic class when that is all my Sch will allow me to do and I still get a great practice and continue to push myself by reinforcing movement correctly. In the past classes that were over 60 min just frankly bored me... Not here at PBYoga. Even in the beg class I really enjoyed the class and movement. Brought me back to the basics!! This studio is really great! If your looking for a humble environment with some added amenities, I highly recommend PBYoga. I'm very happy I found them and now can practice yoga more often with a schedule of classes that work for me!

The last decade has taught me a lot and I find myself at Perfect Balance a few times a month for their Sunday community classes. $5 a pop, no contract. Their studio is way in the back corner of a complex, so it's private and quiet. The teachers are great at explaining things and are happy to help adjust you. Absolutely non-judgmental atmosphere. It doesn't matter if you're a ninja or a 60-year-old - they encourage you to be kind to your body and go at your own pace. It does feel a bit small in there, so when things get crowded, you'll end up spending the entire yoga class pretending you aren't staring at the rear end of the person in front of you, but that hasn't happened often. Give it a try!

I was visiting in town and my friends treated me to an all levels low heat class. I didn't know…read morethere'd be a heat element and I wore a sweatshirt- whoowhee, it was rough! The instructor, Octavia, moved from pose to pose fairly quickly but she did a great job explaining proper form, walking around the room, and noting modifications for thr various levels. I thought the class was wonderfully done. I talked to the instructor afterwards and took a flyer for prices and the schedule. It was very reasonable. Also, this studio is HUGE! There is kombucha on tap, two bathrooms, a sitting area, and a little locker area. They're open cubbies but the studio is locked during classes to safeguard your items. The actual yoga room is also large. They put little tape squares on the floor so people know where to lay their mats so everyone has the same amount of space. I docked a star because, while the store size is impressive, it wasn't clear where you should and shouldn't wear shoes. The studio didn't seem very clean for this reason. Everyone in class had dirty feet from walking around barefoot where people had been wearing shoes before. The communal mats were free to use, but they were all light green Lululemon branded and you could see every smudge of dirt on them so it wasn't particularly inviting. Def recommend coming with your own mat.

This review has been a long time coming…read more My experience here at Tower Yoga was right before the pandemic and is based on a few encounters I had with the female owner. I want to say that the studio itself looked great and I loved the location/set up and a majority of the instructors. (Mj and Astrid) I became a paying member after a few clients mentioned it to me as I lived in the area. I took a few easy classes at first and decided to take a hot yoga class. A friend and I signed up for an intro hot yoga class which was described online as slow moving, lots of water breaks, and verbal instructions on how to breathe and so forth. When my friend and I arrived to the class it was lead by the female owner. Who I had taken a class or two with before. We went right into what felt like an intense version of hot yoga. No breaks and no instructions on how to better handle the class and difficult poses. My friend and I were so confused because we thought it would be for beginners as listed. At one point, my friend and I were struggling to keep up and she looked over at me, and I whispered, "I'm sorry." She whispered something like, "I hate you" and we both quietly laughed at ourselves and carried on. At the very end, after the instructor finished, I walked up to her and asked if they had an easier class for beginners. Her demeanor immediately changed and she got defensive. Suggesting that the free beginner class was held on a certain day. I was confused and mentioned the class that day was labeled for beginners. She didn't believe me about the description of the class being easy or for beginners so I showed her the class description from my phone thinking it was just a mix up. Confirming the description she actually rolled her eyes. Then said something along the lines that if my friend and I hadn't been talking then maybe we would have gotten more from the instruction. Let me be clear that there was no instruction and my friend and I had only one small convo which I mentioned. I told her that we were paying members and that we had no issue we just wanted to take an easier class first to help us get better. She rolled her eyes again and asked, "So what did you have trouble with?" I mentioned having a knee restriction and her response was for me not to come. At that point my friend and I left and I was very upset by how poorly I was treated. In other classes, with this same woman, I noticed the vibe was different. She's got an ego and does not handle feedback well. This sets the tone for the whole studio in my opinion. I definitely feared retaliation as she acts like a big shot in The Tower District. So be aware, if you "disagree" with her or you don't behave how she wants you to, she will show you her awful side and it's not fun. If you want to walk on eggshells and feed her ego, this place is for you. Which is unfortunate because the studio is beautiful. If this place is under new management please let me know and I will reconsider my review after taking/paying for a beginner hot yoga class.

The teachers and staff are amazing!!! I only have great things to say about this studio, the staff, and the experience. At first it was hard for me to start as I hadn't done hot yoga in a few years. I needed to take breaks. My mind and body felt so good after a few weeks of classes. It has felt like an amazing restart. If you haven't tried it yet, you should and you'll be hooked.
