I have been to yoga classes before but never an aerial yoga class! A hybrid mix of yoga with aerial hammocks? SO COOL! No matter your flexibility level or prior yoga experience, this place is good for all skill levels. The instructor explains and demonstrates things clearly. With soothing music playing, this was an experience that allows for experimenting at your own comfort level. Time flew by so fast! Phones were not allowed in the room but the instructor takes pictures (with your signed permission) and sends them to you afterwards. She even gave us chocolate strawberries at the end of the session which was such a sweet surprise!!! Laying in savasana in the hammock alone was enough for 5 stars for me. They also offer a variety of classes from barre/mat yoga, prenatal yoga, aerial yoga, and even goat yoga!!! The community I have found here is something else, absolutely everyone is welcome. The vibe is that of the women's restroom of a bar or club, everyone is fast friends asking where you got your shoes and helping each other with pole moves, minus the occasional crying. I came to Aerial Silks on their first day in business, June 6, after following them on instagram for a while and deciding to register for a class online. I took an intro class with Brittany and she broke down the moves really well. There's only 3 silk setups in the studio, and when you're not floating around on silks, you'll work on stretching and conditioning. Brittany was fun & engaging & incredibly encouraging! I'm hooked and now enrolled with their monthly membership plan so that I can build upon those skills from the introductory class. They are located inside the Sun Stereo building in downtown, directly across from Tioga- Sequoia brewery. As far as I know, all parking is metered or in a paid garage.

With Covid the small gym was too small and I needed to find a bigger gym. I checked out GB3 but didn't really like the feeling/vibe. I tried a free 7 day pass a FWF three weeks ago and immediately loved it. Everyone is doing their own thing, is positive, and courteous. The customer service is spot on and all the employees seem happy--and are very helpful. I'm easily the scrawniest guy in the gym and understand traditional gym culture the least . But I'm super comfortable going to FWF. I never have to wait for a bench or machine (I'm there late Monday morning; Wednesday and Friday midday). Everything is clean. This is a really nice weightlifting gym in northern Fresno. If you are focused on powerlifting or…read moreolympic lifting, you will find basically every piece of equipment you could ever need for both your main workout(s) and your accessory work. They have numerous lifting platforms in different shapes and sizes, as well as different types of squat and bench racks. There's multiple types or barbells, and bumper/metal plates in both lbs and kilos, including smaller denomination plates. There's also tons of accessory machines, a GHD, and even some cardio machines for warming up. There's also a large open area for sled pushes, sprints, etc. This is one of the most comprehensive gyms I have ever been to in terms of range of equipment, and if you can't find what you need to complete your workout here, it might not exits. Two minor criticisms: the first is that the bathroom definitely had some dirty areas and some things that were out of order/needed repair, and the price of a day pass ($35) is a bit high, even for a gym like this. Otherwise, a great spot to work out in Fresno.
