Pricing for things that I am interested in can be hit or miss, but maybe that's what works for them. I had a pretty disappointing experience today when I picked out some childproofing furniture straps and a KiwiCo board book for a total of $7 plus tax and the owner informed me there was a $10 minimum on card. I apologized and stated I didn't realize. She then proceeded to dramatically and passive aggressively wave to the small paper sign on the front of her register and the larger sign on the heavily decorated wall behind her that read "$10 minimum on cards". I felt that was needlessly rude after I had sincerely apologized for my mistake. The place is tiny and I had already scoured all of the inventory so I did not complete my purchase. I'm a local and even showed her how to use her Square system when she first opened in her original location because she couldn't figure it out. I get processing fees are a bummer, but all the other thrift stores in town only have a $5 minimum for cards. Unfortunately I see no reason to go back. She also has no problem selling outdated and recalled baby items such as the Rock 'N' Play so buyer beware.

When the new owners took over in November of 2022, they renamed the store Rustic Rose Mercantile. From my understanding, I believe that the new owners kept much of the same vibe/ambiance as Rustic Roses, but they have added even more local artists and color to the store's whimsical displays. I stopped in here recently.The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and welcoming. He was helpful whenever I had questions about their inventory. I didn't have much time to browse, due to time constraints, but I did spy a plethora of fun finds during my brief visit. I ended up purchasing a 'soft edged arrowhead shaped piece of what I believe is jade strung on a cord' necklace. The gentleman behind the counter (who I believe may be one of the owners) explained that a local family makes the necklaces and that they bring them by the store to be sold. Many of Rustic Rose Mercantile's showcased jewelry artists are local. Jill King is one my favorite local jewelry artists - and she has a stunning turquoise necklace being sold here - along with her other well crafted jewelry pieces. In addition to a plethora of local and vintage jewelry items, Rustic Rose Mercantile has decor items, clothing, candles, antiques, crafts and much more. Everywhere you look inside this spacious spot - you'll find something new. They even rent out a decent sized portion of their store to a local comic book seller/collector.
