Single leg hip thrust from her group class
    Leticia R.

I have had such a great experience with Coach D!She takes the time to understand my goals and definitely helps me work hard to achieve them. I have taken her group classes as well as personal training sessions, and I have enjoyed both. She takes the time to correct my form and ensures that I do all the exercises correctly... I love having a trainer that helps me stay accountable with my workouts as well as my meals. She leads by example and does so with positivity! Each workout has been fun and challenging!! I'm glad I found such a motivational coach!

They offer unlimited support and genuinely want each athlete to be successful. This is my 2nd month. Every week I see rapid improvement. A PT suggested I do strength training (nothing was really wrong, I was just weak), but I was worried about hurting my back further by doing things wrong. So I looked for a place with instruction and coaching, and found FIIT60. Mike has been such an incredible help! The first few months I needed a LOT of guidance and suggestions, but he was always there to correct my form an explain things clearly so I wouldn't hurt myself. Starting as a complete beginner was really daunting, but over time things became easier and I not only did I feel stronger, but my back hurt less, and I had more energy in general. I started attending more classes and after nearly a year I felt completely different from before. I'm still improving and learning because Mike knows how to increase the difficulty and make modifications for people of different skill levels. I've got long terms goals I want to hit, and I feel like I'm moving toward them! The mood in the classes is great too, in addition to the health benefits (which are many!), it's just a nice expereince and I look forward to going to class. Everyone there is really supportive and friendly, and Mike maintains an upbeat and positive environment. It's a very family friendly place too, you will spot the occasional kid chilling in the corner or even a baby in their stroller. I cannot recommend this place enough! If you're a beginner like I am then you're in good hands. And if you have more expereince, then there's plenty of room to grow here.

Specifically, do not ever take a class with the owner (Peter) if you have an injury and require a substitution for a specific movement. For example, I have a severe knee injury. The only thing that relieves my knee pain is the circular motion of riding a bike combined with the analgesic relief that cardio from bike riding has been proven to provide. Meanwhile, one morning, Peter refused to let me ride the gym's erg bike as a substitute for one of the standard movements, which happened to be Jumping rope. After he continued to refuse to let me substitute bike riding for jumping rope, I said out loud to him, "Peter. This is my body. My choice." And yet he still refused to let me ride the erg bike. So I walked out. And I asked via email for my membership to end Sept 18. Then I had a discussion with other coaches who would let me use the bike whenever I felt like it. They convinced me to stay on as a member. But Peter refused to let me keep my membership unless I agreed to do whatever substitutions Peter deemed appropriate. Peter also gave a long lecture to his staff that week, insisting no coach should let me use the erg bike when I ask for it. And then on the morning of August 4, I realized Peter had canceled my membership early because the app was trying to charge me a "drop in" price just to sign up for that morning's classes. When I asked him to reinstate my membership, even if it was just until the date I had originally requested of Sept 18, he refused. He said I could only stay a member if I had a meeting with him and agreed to comply with whatever terms and conditions HE so chooses. He hides behind the guise of his "specific training program backed by science". But that's such a joke. And he knows he's a joke. He knows most of the members hate him. It's obvious by the low attendance for classes that he coaches. And he's taking out his issues on me simply because he can. It's so infuriating because it's so obvious to me he's suffering from severe control issues brought on by his behavioral and severe personality disorders. If he really wanted to give me a proper substitute and cared about my longevity he'd perhaps suggest I throw a d-ball up against the wall and catch it. Or something to that effect. But instead he gives me BS moves like calf raises, while refusing to let me ride the erg bike. Meanwhile the other trainers are courteous and respectful and gracious and allow me to make whatever substitutions I want. The only problem is a lot of the coaches quit working here because Peter's behavior drives them away. So there's always someone "in training". He also wastes members' time and staff's time with long lectures before or after classes. And he refuses to change his ways--often arguing with members. He's disrespectful when he insists that a coach knows a members' needs better than the members does. I've noticed he also tries to train his younger staff with this same methodology: "a coach knows better about a member's body than the members". For me, that breaks a moral boundary. There's another incident where a member did not want to box because of her elbow injury. But he insisted she box. Of course, she then reinjured her elbow. And that to me is sickening. The workouts themselves can be somewhat good. But nothing makes up for Peter's terrible management style and the nonsense policies he tries to enforce. In summary, this gym is a disaster. And the owner is a disgrace to this franchise. Edit in response to Peter's comment on my review: Peter's talking about himself in the third person because he was the trainer that day. Also, Peter, that's obviously just cut-and-paste lip service. You're obviously grasping at straws to protect your bottom line. You absolutely do NOT care about your members whatsoever. And you do NOT wish me well in my health journey. You make it obvious you only care about one things: having ultimate control of your franchise and its members. And if you can't control them, then you cancel their membership. If you actually cared, you would not have cancelled my membership before I asked for it to end. The fact that you effectively kicked me out of your club before I wanted to quit simply because I wanted to use the erg bike as a substitute for whatever movement I so chose just goes to show how severely warped your behavioral and personality issues really are.

Abe was very welcoming. He had us perform several exercises with no weights so he could make sure our form was correct for the workouts we were doing that day.0 There were 2 phases of the workout. First we started with several rounds of light weight excersices and stretching. This was for about 15 minutes or so. The next phase was timed (about 40 minutes) and consisted of a circuit - several strength exercises with weights and some that were more cardio focused. The timed portion really gets your competitive nature flowing and you want to push yourself. I was gassed afterwards. During all the workouts Abe was always checking in to make sure everything was good and also providing encouragement. And it just wasn't Abe, all the other members there (about 10 or so during the time I went) were all very friendly and eager to answer questions. I had such a good experience I came back 2 days later for another round - albeit sore from the previous workout but ready for more. A virtual instructor leads a variety of workouts, including barre, Pilates, yoga, stretching, cycling, rowing, and more. Each sauna can fit up to three people, but I've often had the sauna all to myself. The studio also has a small weightlifting area and a shower for those who need to get ready after their workout.
