I have gone to Charlie for years. The last 2-3 times, my nails look terrible. They are chunky, rough, and the polish is terrible. I should've gone with my gut and not gone in. I will not go back. The last time the full set lasted 5 days, no lie. I realize my cuticles are bad, I just finished with nursing clinicals. These look ridiculous!!! read more

My friend and I went and were uncomfortable the entire time. She got a pedi and I got a full set. The ladies doing her pedi were rude and she said she was uncomfortable the entire time. Not worth a $23 The man doing my set started off fine and then took off his own shoes, answered a video chat phone call when doing my nails and called me baby girl twice. Then when we were trying to pay they messed up and made it extremely confusing. I will never go back. read more

If I could have put no stars, I would have. First off, they were super unprofessional and not super friendly. I had asked for an ombré manicure and they had no idea what I was taking about. Then, the guy made me bleed 6 times and charged me almost double what I pay at the normal place I go. Just all around a super bad experience and my nails are torn up. read more

I will not go back. It was a bad experience. The male staff were unprofessional, and he insisted I was moving my fingers twice, which he cut both fingers. He blamed me, said it was nothing that he was doing. He kept jerking on my fingers, and checked the clock consistently, it was evident he could not wait to leave, and rushed my nails. I got a manicure by a younger lady, it was great. A little longer than other manicures I've had but she did a perfect job! The tools she used were brand new taken out of the bag, huge hit with me because I felt sanitary! The pedicure part of the salon looked really nice and tranquil. My friend got her eyebrows done and they looked great! Why I only gave it 4 stars: one of the men (owner I assume) was on his phone the whole time ON SPEAKER. It was very annoying and made my manicure less relaxing. Then another worker was on her phone while doing the girls nails next to me, I just thought it was irritating. They were all also a little pushy about getting other services done. But other than that everything was great. read more

I too agree that this is a decent nail salon, but you will spend hours there just getting a fill. I was a regular there until this past week. I got a full set and their new magnetic nail polish and was hoping for a pedicure. After two hours I was really wanting to get home, have some dinner and downtime. We scheduled for me to go back for the pedi the next day. As agreed upon the day before I would get the magnetic polish on my toes for no extra charge after the inconvenience the night before. I explained this to the guy and he rolled his eyes at me when I wanted that polish on all 10 toes. There were 3 people ahead of me. I sat and soaked my toes for 20 minutes stewing about the man rolling his eyes and got up and left. They are not the only place in town. I really liked to give them my business, but they are not the only ones here and if this is how they treat a regular they don't deserve my business. Pros 1. clean 2. efficient 3. nice selection of polish and designs Cons 1. slooooooow 2. occasional rude staff I would go here again in a pinch, but will be looking for somewhere else to go. read more

The male staff is so unprofessional. Inappropriate conversations with customers. And will try and argue when you complain that you are uncomfortable. Will also leave you to go work on another person and make you wait even if you were there before them. read more

The service was horrible the owner barely spoke english and did a horrible job he even gave himself a tip out of my total (because he knew damn well i wasnt giving him one so i paid $33 for a fill in. I recently died my hair (without gloves) and he kept saying i had fungus. I went to another place he said it was just my hair dye and fixed my nails. And he fixed them for free because thats the person i usually go to but hes in mattoon. This was by far the worst nail experience ive ever had and ive had some pretty bad ones if it were up to me id give them zero stars. They over charge and can barely do the simplest request read more

I've gone here twice now and I've had a relatively positive experience both times. I've gotten a no chip and a wax both times. The service and the employees are great. They are incredibly nice and accommodating. Both times I was the last person in the salon, and they didn't seem to mind. I didn't feel rushed, even when I could't make up my mind regarding what color I wanted. My first trip - the no-chip lasted for 3 weeks before it started to peel up. They talked with me about my color choice and the brand of the polish. They were incredibly patient with me while I asked a lot of questions. They didn't have my go-to color/brand, so that threw me off a little. My wax wasn't so great. The paper that was covering the chair was definitely already used and they didn't change it before I laid down. Within about a day I had to start tweezing because there were strays already. I also had my upper lip waxed, and you could hardly tell. My second trip - the no chip didn't even last 2 weeks before it started to peel up on a couple of my nails. The color has also started to change and become slightly discolored. That was highly disappointing. They did remember me though. That was a really nice feeling. It gave me the sense that they are trying to get to know their customers. This time I brought my go-to color with me to match it to what they had. They also told me that they were ordering more colors and other brands and took down the name of what I loved. That was really nice and made me feel really appreciated. I got a wax again and had the same results. Overall, I would go back here for my nails. I would not recommend this salon for a facial wax. I haven't gotten a pedicure here, so I cannot comment on that service. read more

This nail salon was recommended to me by the front desk clerk at my hotel. I needed to get a mani pedi and her nails looked great. The place is clean and has a pretty good color selection. I like that they match up all the regular polish colors with the numbers of the gels so you can easily pick matching colors. The tech who did my nails was a young male and was absolutely meticulous. He did a very good job on both the mani and pedi and put a really pretty design on my big toe. Didn't skimp on the leg/foot massage either which was so nice but he might have forgotten about the hand one after the gel manicure. Either way it was a nice experience and I would go back if I'm in the area again and in need and had the time - The only thing I can say is that I had to wait a while before being seen. Its not an in and out type of place. They only had 3 techs on. They will also try to up sell you on different options but I expect that from a salon, they're a business. They also seem to prefer cash here. I will say they all seemed to know everyone that came in by name which should tell you something about their regulars and customer service. read more

It's a decent nail salon. It does get pretty busy especially if when there are only two there. There is definitely alot of down time when it's busy. If you want to be in and out, I suggest being there early as possible. They do take credit cards, but they usually hound you cash, so bring cash too!!! read more

My daughter and I wanted to have our nails done, while my husband waited for us. We asked for a gel manicure - nothing fancy, nothing extra. They were so sloooww! It took one hour and 10 minutes. I kept comparing my technician to my daughters technician and they were both equally as slow! When I return to this area to visit my son at school, if I need another nail salon I will check out a different place.
