It looks a whole lot more modern but unfortunately changes have come about that for me aren't that great First noticeable thing is they got rid of all the seating now they have a Subway and a godfather's Express like a lot of loves do but yet when they remodeled it they yanked out all the seating so you can't sit down anywhere inside. And on top of that they used to have the godfathers with the oven on because this is a heavy industrial area but they got some new management here and they said to shut it down at 10:00 at night. Subway's open all night but was interesting was you could come in and if you didn't mind waiting they always had the oven on to be like 15 minutes for a personal Pizza okay cool now 10:00 that's all she wrote. So I'm dropping down the star because it kind of sucks for drivers at night but for the traveling public they probably don't really care.

Gosh I wanted to give this place more stars. The clerk was extremely friendly. Also, he was by…read morehimself and so he's having to do the job of two people (there is a a Help Wanted sign). They have lots of kitsch and actual things I WANTED! On the downside, the parking lot was gross beyond gross and I felt like it was making my shoes dirty. I'm also always bothered by a place that says not to flush toilet paper.

So many years have passed, and while faded, the memories remain. I love nostalgia. So when I was on a trip, I saw the sign, and I had to stop in. I have to say, for this location, it's really good for truckers. There's a good gravel lot that could stand to be re-graded, but it's nice to have gravel because it's easier on the tires and chassis to turn and park.it could park about 15 trucks, I suppose. The food is actually GOOD. Professional drivers will relate... it's HARD to find restaurants that are truck-friendly. Folks may say they love their truckers, they sure don't like those big noisy things they drive LOL... Truck stops always have high prices and limited services, so this place was a refreshing change with a cool "throwback vibe." Prices are competitive with truck stops and convenience stores. Best thing: THE FOOD! I've been a couple times now, and the food is VERY good! Very refreshing change from the typical Subway in a Flying F or Circle-J or whatever big brand truck stop. Hamburgers are truly GREAT. I got some brisket as well, which made great snacks in tortillas going down the road. There are some actual seating with some booths and tables. The whimsical styling is fun for those who like it (I think it's a great break from the same-old same-old at the big name truck stops that use the same colors of red and yellow so I have to look outside at the sign to see which card I need to use). Thing that needed help: Beverage selection could use bottled water and some more main stream beverages. Overall cleanliness and tidying up would be a plus. It just needs a little more help - literally and figuratively - they're short handed, and it shows. Overall, coming out of COVID shutdowns and all the things that come with that, I feel compelled to grade on a curve. Good help is hard to find. Add to that, Stuckey's is trying very hard to revive their brand name, and it is showing. Since this place is a remote oasis that's conveniently located roughly halfway between DFW and OKC, it really is in a great spot and with proper care and persistent patience, it will get better. I WILL come back, and I recommend it to all professional drivers who want something they feel good supporting that gives back some good stuff that they can't get anywhere else. An actual made right there on the grill hamburger, good fries, you know: not "astronaut food." Actually, it's probably a three star, but I'm confident in the Stuckey's name that they'll figure it out and energize the team to work out the kinks. I really look forward to future trips to bring this up to five stars. Remember: before there was a Buc-Ee's, there was Stuckey's! And Buc-Ee's is nice, but they are NOT trucker-friendly. So I am truly rooting for the underdog here. Come on, Stuckey's we've missed you, and it's great to see you again!
