I called the business owner, Brenda, to set up home care services for my daughter, who needs 24/7 care. I told her my needs, and Brenda made an appointment to meet us at our home in two weeks, the day my daughter was being discharged from the hospital.
One week later, I called the owner again to give her specific day and time information so that she could schedule the aides. Her phone went to voicemail, but the mailbox was full and I was unable to leave a message. She did return my call (Missed Call list) but didn't seem to remember having spoken to me the week before, and didn't seem interested in hearing what I had to say. She told me to send her an email and hung up. She didn't give me her email address, so I had to call again.
The day of our meeting arrived. Brenda didn't show up for our appointment and didn't call with an explanation. I called her the next day - once again was unable to leave a voicemail message. She called me back but didn't offer an explanation for missing the meeting the day before and didn't offer an apology. She sent a nurse out to meet us that afternoon.
The next morning, Tonya, the aide, arrived. I confirmed the day's time schedule in addition to the rest of the month. She gave me no indication that there was a schedule problem. I briefly trained her on things she needed to know in order to care for my daughter properly. I told Tonya that I would be just one block away and could come home if she needed anything. She had my phone number as well. Imagine my surprise when I returned home to find my home unlocked and my daughter abandoned in her bedroom, laying in bed in a dark silent room. Tonya was gone. She didn't call me to say she was leaving early. Brenda evidently gave her the incorrect time, and she apparently didn't hear me mention the work day schedule when she had arrived earlier that day.
Even if there had been a miscommunication with the time schedule, Tonya should NEVER have left my daughter unattended without my permission (which I never would have given considering her medical condition). My daughter is totally unable to care for herself. She can't make a phone call in an emergency or get herself out of the house if there had been a fire.
Loving Care Home Care, LLC is by far the worst experience I have had with a Home Health Agency. This business deserves a ZERO STAR rating for patient negligence and abandonment, but Yelp won't allow a zero star rating. read more
