We made an appointment for our 7 year old Golden Retriever to have a basic grooming. After picking up our Scott, when we got home we noticed our he had a really bad cut/scar and he was rubbing against the wall. He never showed this behavior before. We called Maria, the owner and she right away was on the defensive yelling as us in Spanish. Maybe it is possible that this cut did not occur yesterday while our dog was at Maria's but what is NOT POSSIBLE is that no one noticed such a big red and ugly cut!!! They should not have accepted our dog or at the very least pointed out to us that they noticed he had a really bad wound! She claims she was not there and that they were very busy! This is not the reply we would expect. If you love your dog, think twice and then think one more time before entrusting your pet to these uncaring and unprofessional people. Our Westie terrier Mac just LOVES coming to see Rita Mar at Doggiestyles 101. At home before we…read morego, I tell him "Mac, today is Spa Day" and he gets SO excited, he runs to the garage to get in the car to go there, tail wagging the whole way. And as soon as we get to Rita's place and I open the car door, he jumps out of the car and drags me in to Rita's shop. And when I open the door to Rita's shop & let him off his leash, he runs in, heads for the back where the tubs are, and runs up the ramp & jumps into the tub to get his bath!!! I've been taking Mac to Rita since at least 2009 or 2010, and I wouldn't take him to anyone else. Rita is the BEST groomer in South Florida. Mac always comes out looking SO handsome. And Rita is super experienced with dog care as well as dog training. Mac has allergies, as many Westies do, and Rita has always had the best recommendations for his care and has directed me to authoritative sources of info on dog allergies and has provided access to veterinary brands of shampoo for dogs with allergies.

I've had my pup for about 3 years now and this is the second time i've taken him here, and they out did themselves this time. For reference my dog is a shih tzu and he weighs 8 pounds on a good day. The first time, my 4 month old pup came out with a cut of about an inch on his belly with dried blood on it. I chose to find another salon and just have them there in case of an emergency. My regular salon was booked to capacity today and I decided to give them another shot. When i go to pick up my dog, I greet the front desk woman and say i'm here to pick up my dog, they say "Oh, el terrible," and proceeded to laugh. I ask why, and what he did to be called like that and they proceded to tell me how horrible he behaved, how they had to chase him about the salon with a towel over him to catch him, and further on. I communicated to them how that's so weird and I apologized because i've never received any complaint for his behavior when he's being groomed. Seconds later someone starts screaming from the back of the salon in spanish, "Que? Hace me el favor, se portó horriblemente mal que hasta la persona que lo dejo aquí dijo que era tremendo pesado." Mind you, during this whole interaction, the front desk woman is dying of laughter. I step to the side to see who's screaming at me instead of peaking they're head over and tell them how my boyfriend was the person who dropped my dog off and he just warned them, as we do every new service place, that he was a very nervous dog and isn't too fond of new people so he might be a little hesistant at first. They both tell me how that's not what he said and that again, my dog behaved horribly end was un are able to deal with. I conclude the conversation and wait for my dog to be given to me to get out of the salon. As if the interaction wasn't HORRIBLE enough, when i get to the car i notice his face is not cleaned or cut and it's full of eye boogers, the same way i left him. The way they cut his hair was super choppy and even cut him again! They left a little indent/hole on his back leg close to his butt!! I wasn't told about this when picking him up either.

A very lovely woman named Yolanda greeted us when we came in and brought our 6 month Morkie. We showed them a picture of exactly what we wanted and we left him with them for about 2 hours.
