I've used this company three times in the past 18 months for private pet cremations, each time arranged through the in-home euthanasia service I trust and deeply appreciate. Until now, the convenience and care they offered made the difficult process a little easier, despite the cost. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with picking up my beloved 12 1/2-year-old dog, Koa, was very disappointing, and I will sadly be looking elsewhere in the future. When the driver arrived to transport her, he unrolled a transfer mat onto my clean bedding that was visibly soiled from the previous pickup. He quickly apologized and replaced it with a clean one from his vehicle, so I let that slide--mistakes happen. The bigger issue came at pickup. I was unexpectedly charged an additional $21 for the mahogany urn because, according to the receptionist, the company had recently changed (suppliers?) and now charges extra for that option. She showed this was noted on the form I signed at the time of service. While it may have been in the fine print, I was not verbally told about the change or the upcharge, when I paid him for everything else (at the time of service)--something that had never happened during my two previous experiences with the exact same urn selection. During that moment, I was crying, didn't have my glasses, and was in no state to scrutinize paperwork. I trusted the process would be the same as before. Had the driver simply explained that the included urn was now different and that mahogany carried an extra fee, I would have happily chosen the standard one (which I actually prefer and think is prettier). Instead, the new "mahogany" finish is noticeably different and no longer matches the three previous mahogany urns I have from this same company. I ended up paying the unexpected fee because I just wanted to bring my girl home and they are almost an hours drive from my house-I didn't want to come back. However, I am very disappointed in the result. The woman working the front desk that day was new, incredibly kind, and clearly wanted to help, but she wasn't able to waive or resolve the charge on the spot. I'm truly saddened that after 4 services (in total), this is how my relationship with this company ends--over a $21 surprise charge that could have been avoided with a 30-second conversation during an already devastating moment. The convenience was meaningful to me, but trust and clear communication matter more. read more

I coordinated Loving paws with tranquil passings. (The vet from tranquil passings was fantastic so this has nothing to do with them, I would use them every time that was a great experience.) We had coordinated the times between each of the companies so that when the euthanasia was finished loving paws SHOULD have been there to pick up. After waiting for an hour we started calling them. Craig finally called back 45 minutes later. This was excruciating for me to have to look at my beloved cold dead dog laying there with no more life in him. When they finally showed up 3 hours after scheduled, Craig looked like he just got out of bed in sweats and floppy boots, very unprofessional, said their van broke down. I asked why no one bothered to call us and let us know. No response. Never apologized just picked my dog up on a stretcher and left. No compassion, no offer to do the foot print, etc. (luckily the vet that had come out did it). Then after 2 weeks no call on the ashes being ready to pick up. So I call them and they say he has been ready for a week and that they had called us (they didn't). Will not be using them again. Would give 0 stars if I could. read more

Loving paws was so amazing in such a difficult time. They explained the process to me in detail (I had a lot of questions about aquamation... but I would definitely recommend it over cremation now). They were so kind, caring, and supportive throughout. They provided me with numerous options in terms of urns and keepsakes without pushing. The woman who was there when I picked up Nala was SO sweet, kind, patient, and gentle. She let me take my time and was a great source of comfort while picking up my baby Nala. They also gave me a tray to put everything in (see photo), which I was not expecting. They really went above and beyond, in my opinion. AND they are not too costly! They made a difficult time a little easier and for that I am so grateful. read more

We were put in a real bind in a painful situation with another cremation company, who backed away when we were needing their services. One phone call to Loving Paws, was met with a kind and caring response from Craig who responded that he would be there to pick up our beloved 12 year old Bulldog. Craig picked up our boy the next morning and brought him to us to say our final goodbyes, also suggesting that our last boy be taken out to his vehicle, to say goodbye too. They were compassionate and caring when I recently lost my 16yr old border collie/greyhound cross, Brodie James. They understood how devastated I was at losing my beautiful boy who was not only my loyal companion, but my diabetes alert dog , who'd saved me many times when my blood sugar levels dropped to dangerous levels. I would gladly recommend them, and their prices are reasonably low for all the care you get. I received 2 fur clippings, 2 paw prints, his urn with his name laser etched into it, and a dog tag that stayed with him during the process. I chose them because they are more environmently friendly, but would recommend them for everything they did to support me through this difficult time. read more

We had to put our sweet dog Abby down. Scott with Loving Paws came to our house and waited until Dr. Lacey with Tranquil Passing completed the euthanasia and we said we were ready for them to take her body. We were given all the time we needed and Scott and Dr. Lacey carefully removed her body to be cremated. It was a difficult day but the care and compassion shown by both Loving Paws and Tranquil Passing helped. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! Not only will I never use this place again, I can't in good conscience recommend them to anyone either. To begin, we chose to put our family dog to sleep with a traveling Vet (Tranquil Passing), to give our furry best friend comfort. The Vet was great, and not a part of this review. The guy from Loving Paws that was collecting our family protectors body wore his boots "RUN DMC" style and looked very unprofessional. He actually asked for our help in carrying our dogs body out to his vehicle. He was very polite, I'll give him that, but that doesn't make up for the nightmare they put us through. The employee from Loving Paws hand copied down my debit card number. He messed it up, so they called me a week later, and I gave my card number to them again. Then a week after that, I'm starting to wonder where my dogs ashes are. I've got a daughter who was in crying fits, and our son was getting very upset, mind you it takes a lot for this to happen, as they are both adults now. SO, I finally get someone on the phone from Loving Paws, and they were essentially holding our dogs ashes as collateral for payment, seriously. I had to have my wife handle it at this point, as I couldn't converse with the level of incompetence that we had been facing with Loving Paws. They didn't call me after the second time they screwed up the transaction. They simply held our furbaby's ashes until we called them and paid. I fully understand and support one paying for services rendered, but to not even reach out and contact us after the second time the reversed my exp date? There is simply no excuse for this bad business. Finally, they get the payment through, and now my daughter had to go pick up her childhood dogs ashes finally. I had planned on doing it, but in the couple of weeks we were kept waiting, and Loving Paws holding our dogs ashes for payment, I had a much needed surgery that kept me down, and unable to travel. Therefore I was not able to retrieve his ashes. Had Loving Paws gotten this right the first time or two, I would have been able to accomplish this. Read the fine print too, it's not the cremation that one would think of. They dissolved my dog in some solution, essentially stripping away the flesh from bone, then the pound the bones into ash. If they screwed up the process that bad, that fast, I hope it's our dogs "ashes" that we received back. I deal with other dog owners on a regular basis, as I'm part of the largest K9 training group in Eastern WA. Word will be spreading about how unprofessional, and incompetent "Loving Paws" was during our time of grief. I will not use any Vet's office that uses this company, nor will I do business with anyone who does. This is my choice, and mine alone. To think of someone else going through what we went through as a family, it's heartbreaking. Attn: Loving Paws, I genuinely hope that you are reading this and that you change the way that you conduct business. Please, for the sake of the families doing business with you, please care more, please be more professional, and please learn how to run a credit card after the first 2 or 3 times. There was nothing wrong with my card. As a matter of fact, my card worked so good, that 1.5 weeks after you finally ran it, someone local went on a shopping spree with my card, and I had to call my bank to report it. I don't use that card much, and Loving Paws the last company to run my card, after giving them the card numbers MULTIPLE times. Well, that's my review of Loving Paws. Not so "loving" in our experience. Best of luck to anyone else who decides to use them, hopefully you won't have the heartache, anger, and frustration that my family and I were forced to endure. they were very kind , caring, and amazing with myself and my best friend(our dog). we went vet Tuesday said its time within next few days. I called loving paws they came 6pm Thursday. when i called they were very upfront on everything going on at time like the process, $, just everything. i was a werck and she was so kind. and when i picked everything up was very nice and professional it just was amazing more than i honestly thought. i wanted put a picture of it up but its not letting me but its was so beautifully done. read more

Craig was affable, has human funeral home experience, and was supportive; the perfect person to be the face of this company. They offer all of the typical items for remembrance, should you be so inclined. I asked to see the chamber in which the aquamation was performed, but was not allowed to "because there are deceased animals in the room". I asked Craig to take a photo of the chamber with his cell phone, and he graciously did so. The stainless steel tank was huge. "Large enough to hold a tiger, and we have placed some in there." After I left, I wondered if they placed several bodies inside separated by partitions, as this would be the most efficient method of streamlining the process. But what concerned me . . . . their web site stated that the owner would receive a 20% higher volume of processed remains than with cremation. Well, I had two prior cats cremated and still have the ashes, which weigh 6.9 oz and 6.4 oz respectively. The remains from aquamation of this cat weighed 11.9 oz., which is 72% heavier than and 3x the volume as compared to the ashes from cremation of my largest cat. The feline body that underwent aquamation was not much larger than the cat that produced 6.9 oz of ashes. This made me wonder how "pure" the remains that I received may have been. The service is great, but i don't like the process . . . even if it is better for the environment. The results look 'foreign' to me. read more

First I'll start off with Scott who came to our home to help us with Jesse James our 13 year old Australian Shepherd who just crossed the bridge to Heaven. Scott was very kind and respectful. Craig who is the owner was kind but he deeply disappointed me when he never followed through with what I asked for. I asked him to look for a Harley Davidson Tank Urn and I also asked for a necklace with ashes in it. I waited for the call to pick up my love Jesse James. I then sent a text as they say they respond quicker to those. Never heard from them. I then called and Craig said he called me. I said no you didn't I have no missed call from you. He then said sometimes they transpose numbers when transferring information. I asked if my necklace was done first he knew nothing about it then said yes. I went to bring Jesse James home. My necklace was not ready nor did they know anything about it. She had to take Jesse James back open up his Urn and take ashes out. I was so upset they had to disturb him. She showed me the paperwork and my information was correct on both forms. I rate the lady who helped me a 5, Scott who came to our home a 5 and what they did for my boy. But I don't know if I would recommend Craig. I don't think he ever looked for what I asked for nor did he communicate with his staff or me. I think maybe he's over his head. read more
