It had come highly recommended by some parents of precious students, but I also wanted to be sure it would be a safe place for him to be now with Covid-19 procedures in place. Dr Fernandez is very open and clear about their protocols and what is expected from the children as far as contact between kids, mask wearing, and hygiene, which was very reassuring and made me feel comfortable sending my son. They also have a large outdoor space where they spend a significant amount of time in the summer months. My son absolutely loved his time there and always had something fun to tell me about when I picked him up. He enjoyed the weekly themes and the crafts and activities that go along with each week's theme. My son had clearly made a genuine connection with many of the staff and other kids there in just three short weeks, which I believe reflects greatly on the caring nature of the staff and nurturing atmosphere that they create.

The other photo is of the "inclement weather" in question. We're about 1.5 miles from Blossom Station, lest you think the weather was wildly different between our house and the school. I also drove there, just to take a picture of the sign, because it's so unbelievable that that's how the "notice" was disseminated. Three cars of parents + kids pulled up during the 2 minutes I was there taking the photo, and talking to another flabbergasted parent. You see, Blossom Station uses the Acton school district as their "do we close" barometer AND notification mechanism. But during Christmas and February break, Acton doesn't cancel, because there's nothing to cancel. So instead of having a backup notification mechanism, a sign o the door is the only notice. No phone call, text, twitter, Facebook -- nothing. Just a sign. Oh, and they don't answer the phones, so you can't call ahead to see if they're closed. Oh, and their website doesn't load. Not the homepage, not the "closings/delays" page, either. At best, you can call (why would you call on a rainy day?), but you'll get an answering machine. Getting an answering machine with a generic message isn't a very strong "we're closed" signal. Now have a look at the rain. You decide whether you think their decision to close was reasonable. -- So that's a single day. Let's talk about their "not being open" philosophy in general. Blossom Station's holiday schedule will NOT work for you if you have a normal job, unless your company is shut down from Christmas through New Years. They're just straight up closed. If Christmas falls on a Wednesday, they'll be open that Monday the 23rd and the following Monday. Because apparently December 26, 27, and 31 are all holidays. BS is also closed on every other marginal holiday, so you'll need to make alternative arrangements for those days, too. -- We've heard through the parent grapevine that when BS is closed for snow days, staff aren't paid. That suggests that their staff aren't paid for holiday closings, either. As the customer, you WILL pay full price, no matter how many days BS is unavailable. In October 2019 (a 31-day month), BS was open 20 days. Full time toddler parents paid $1780. In December 2019, BS was open 13 days. Same price. That means the cost per day in October is $89. The cost per day in December is $137. This would be more acceptable if staff were paid for snow days and holidays. -- The staff, on the other hand, are great. Our daughter has been at BS since she was 8 months old. She's been in four rooms now, and has done very well in all of them She takes great naps, and is always happy when we pick her up.

We're now in a preschool with a play-based curriculum, plenty of outdoor time and teachers who have been with the program for several years, and our kids are thriving.

Our son didn't last even 3 months in the toddler program because they deemed he was 'aggressive'. Yet he has displayed none of those behaviors at his new, more spacious daycare. So much time is unstructured play that if kids don't yet know how to play on their own they end up a bit lost. At least that's how Early Intervention explained their observations of BH Sudbury. Bright Horizons say all the right things but in our experience rarely actually followed through on the things that were going to make a difference. When an action plan was put together the staff were 3 weeks late putting together a cozy corner to help the kids have a relaxing space for when they got distressed. That was what upset us the most they didn't seem to put the action that would have benefitted our son first. We care that other children were being affected, which is why we acted immediately upon being informed it was a growing concern. Initially they said it wasn't a problem and deemed just toddler behavior between the children until the center could not cope. It felt like that they had decided that he became too much hassle and because they can fill the available space ten times over it seemed to us they just couldn't be bothered. They asked for our agreement to bring in 2 outside agencies, Early Intervention and Enable who could not start with the center until Dec 4th and yet he was asked to leave on Dec 11th. Enable had not even completed their assessment of the situation or plan to support the center and our family. Early Intervention had been only twice. When we offered to pay for an additional teacher to support the center it was deemed not necessary in the early stages and we should wait for the intervention of the supporting agencies. But they never gave the experts the time to help. All this coupled with the fact that we signed an agreement the week before our son was due to start and the center director got the price wrong on the contract and she also told us she had made a mistake while we were on the wait list and that the place she had reserved for us was no longer available makes our overall experience of Bright Horizons Sudbury very unsatisfactory. It's not like we are biased against Bright Horizons our son went to Bright Horizons Wellesley for 3 months while we were on the wait list for Bright Horizons Sudbury and we can't fault them. During the process we would have done anything to keep our son at Bright Horizons Sudbury, in the end you couldn't have paid us to keep him there.

A few hours later a girl was eating the same donut at the same table for snack. my daughter is part black, and this does NOT sit right with me at all. she was moved down to infants because she wasn't as Mobil. she's extremely Mobil let alone advanced she's the busiest girl I know. she's at the age of toddlers. I was then fired a few hours later not even given a chance to fulfill my full day. They had me pick up my daughter in front of the other teachers and leave in front of everybody. they used an excuse I was not hands on but I very much was and have worked in daycare before and was always praised for how I interacted with children. when I picked her up she was absolutely filthy. they didn't even use a bib on her white shirt. her diaper was extremely full. they did not update me on her diaper changes, time of nap when to when, or gave me access to the photos taken. very rude and discriminatory center.

They have a great curriculum, amazing caring teachers, friendly and helpful directors, a clean and safe building... everything you could ask for! We are sent emails each week with the curriculum and activities that the children will be working on throughout the week. Even in the infant classroom, they're working on specific activities that address motor skills, language (including learning sign language), literacy, math, STEM, art, and social skills. We get alerts through the app whenever she has a meal, a nap, or a diaper change and pictures throughout the day showing us know what is happening in the classroom. She lights up when she sees her teacher in the morning which makes leaving her for the day so much easier. I really couldn't ask for a better place and group of people to help take care of my little girl!
