I went to the LGH ER 3x in 2 months and I have to say that they have the most helpful staff. The quality of care was great. The ER beds are very comfortable. I had to wait in the hallway because it was extremely busy, but I didn't mind. When I went to MGH for the same issue, the waiting room chairs are so uncomfortable I wanted to lay on the floor. It took forever to be seen at MGH. The ER beds are just as bad like I was laying in an old dentist chair. read more

If you're in pain Do. Not Come Here! I've never seen anything like this in my life. I told them I'm at constant 9 level pain and they let me sit there for 6 hours while they took everyone else of which none looked like they were in pain. One other woman looked like she was hurting and she sat there for 6 hours then left. I'm at 6.5 hrs now and still no help and the emergency room had no more than 20 people all afternoon and night. Whoever directs this emergency room needs to be fired immediately! After waiting 10 1/2 hours in the waiting room, I left at 1:00AM. Several others also left after they heard how long I was there. Unacceptable. Why wouldn't they tell you that it is a long wait when you check in? This hospital cannot handle the normal volume of patients In the emergency room. They need more staff on duty since there were not a lot of people waiting to be seen. Second time I've been here, and second time I didn't see a doctor. This will be the last time. I got scheduled for a renal ultrasound by appointment. They are going to scan my bladder to see if I have an issue with urinating. I was told to drink 32 ounces of water 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to the appointment. I showed up and waited 20 minutes, never saw a doctor. I was told to "wait my turn". I'm sorry, then why did I make an appointment? This wasn't a walk-in! I couldn't hold it anymore and left. They have a patient advocate line you can call, but it goes to a voicemail. They don't care. Just look at all the 1-star reviews across Google. Go anywhere but here. read more

Had an unscheduled visit to the ER via ambulance here the Friday before Labor Day due to a fall down some stairs. Remained outside in a hall room. No worries on that from my point of view. Treatment was excellent with all sorts of CTs done and I was checked on frequently. Received an incredible number of staples (26) to close the laceration on the top of my head. All this took a while, but I wasn't going anywhere anyway. Thank you all in the ER for taking care of me. read more

This hospital saints campus ER, not fast track. They are extremely abusive. This hospital shot medications into me that I did not want to take. I went in after being assaulted for knee pain. I ended up strapped to a bed because I wanted to leave when they asked me to change my clothing. Go to Boston. This is a sleezy hospital. It has sleezy staff sleezy doctors nurses etc. The staff especially nurses lack the common sense needed to deal with Trauma patients. In this case I was abused and then sought help and they abused me more. Please see the aftermath of what Lowell general saints ER did to me. It's horrific. The nurses make comments about addicts and homeless. One nurse stated they leave the beds in the hallway to make sure they aren't comfortable so " THEY DONT COME BACK " who is they ? This nurse was here on February 19-20 night hours and then again on March 18th. She made this comment March 19th. These people are horrible human beings. Anyone with a similar experience needs to report them to the state. read more

My boyfriend is a quadriplegic ventilated person and everytime I have to bring him here he's treated like an nobody . 3 gtube changes in a month and a half and one one checks on him. Dr Greg Franco is the best!!! Everything about him is top level. Let's just say this. My moms case was so unique and complex, but he managed to figure out a way to fix her bowel obstruction without doing a bypass. Without the success of getting that she would've had to be in a very bad and scary situation at her age. But he and his team figured out away to get it done because unfortunately, my mother's case was very complex due to her anatomy. Franco and his team are top notch. I came here to the emergency room because i found my brother passed out and he has a history of heart issues. We're still waiting in the emergency room waiting area 2 hours later. I just saw a man wheeled in with his foot soaked in blood. He probably stepped on something. It looked like a chunk was missing. It took 15 minutes for them to take him into a room and wrap his foot. Then he was given an ice pack and sent back into the waiting room. There's people here who look like they're a second away from death, and there's no urgency from staff. I've been seeing nurses and doctors with their phones out. That's kinda crazy for a hospital. There's at least 4 people in my line of sight sleeping because they've been here so long. No emergency rooms should have 30+ people waiting and counting. Fuck lowell general. read more

Told him that i will report him for not doing his job or listening to the patient who knows whats best going to help them! He then put his hands on me and i was blamed for saying i was going to report him! Got a lovely letter in the mail saying i violated their policy mind you a DOCTOR decided to put his hands on a patient! Under no circumstance is this appropriate! They completely covered him and said it was okay for him to SLAP me because i said i was going to report him! Then i called patient services and SHANNON decides shes going to start yelling at me and tell me her job isnt to advocate for patients. While the doctor is screaming about you in the hallway and the nurses are all talking about your care. Talk about a hippa violation huh? This place is a absolute JOKE. I went to the ER from a major panic attack. The girl who took my blood didn't seem to be having a good day. I told her I might pass out because I'm not good with blood draws and she said "why" with an attitude. she could have made me feel more comfortable instead of just asking why. ALOT of people faint from getting their blood drawn so idk how that girl didn't know she's supposed to be a nurse. Her whole demeanor was off and when she put the tight tourniquet on she told me to make a fist and my whole half arm was EXTREMELY red and felt like I was gonna pass out I had to rip it off because I couldn't breathe with it on. The next nurse that drew my blood put the tourniquet on with no redness to my arm and not feeling faint. I think the original girl who drew my blood Needs more experience. I kept apologizing to her and that didn't seem like enough cause AGAIN she had hella attitude and told me to just wait in the waiting room. PLS be more respectful to patients that just came down from a panic attack or any patient at all. DO BETTER!!! read more

Emergency Department Bad customer service with the whole start of the process with registration, triage, and finally dirty blood on bathroom floors looked like someone used a hypodermic in there. Horrible bedside manner and uncountable practices of wrong medications and injections into wrong parts of the arm, I had a steroid to stop the anaphylaxis secondary to first admit of EPI after initial reaction. I was given this in my subcutaneous layer behind the arm instead of the muscle of the bicep or buttocks. The treatment received 0 stars with incongruity of patient care and their families. This place is a hell hole. Might as well go to anywhere but here, even Mexico has better ERs than this one. read more

My mom was taken to the ER on Wednesday and passed today in Lowell General. I can't speak highly enough about the doctors and nurses in this hospital. They were caring, compassionate and very professional. Their treatment of my mom and my brother and I was so caring. I highly recommend this hospital. I do want to mention one thing. When I arrived at the ER I noticed they were giving my mother vancomycin. I immediately went to the nurses station with my brother and told them to get my mother off of that she was highly allergic to it. When the woman came in to do my mother's registration, I looked at the form she gave me and told her that was not my mother that was not my mother's chart that was not her date of birth, her age she never lived at that address nor had that insurance. She said she would be back in a little while would give me some time to take in everything that was going on and she would be back to confirm the information. My reply was that she could come back in five minutes or two hours. It wasn't going to be my mother. The doctor then came in and apologized for using the wrong chart and I explained to him my mother had never been in that hospital before, and he stated that that was why she was given the Vanco my son because it was off of somebody else's chart. my advice is when you're going in the ER make sure that they are using the right chart. read more

Rating for Nurses is 5 stars. Doctors 4 stars. Administration by Tufts 0 stars--TERRIBLE. Last year I went for pre-op tests and it was a single check-in and moved along fairly quickly. 1 year later, post Tufts, I had to check in at 4 different desks including a robot check-in for blood work. The people at the desks didn't seem to know exactly what to do, so I just bounced around from place to place trying to complete the puzzle. On the next to the last stop they took all my paperwork and put a bracelet on my arm. I went to my last stop and the nurse tried to scan my bracelet and said, "what was your name again?" She showed me the bracelet and it was for some random female. After lots of typing she as able to find my record on the computer and was able to complete the EKG. The person who was supposed to first register me when I came in the entrance said, "I didn't see you when you came in." This after I waited 5 minutes for her to finish gossiping with her colleague. I was in the Emergency room at Lowell General on June 6th 2024 for a spinel injury to the middle of my back. The emergency roon doctor ordered a spinal exray which showed no fracture and released me from the hospital? After having a Cat scan in July by my Cancer Dr. I was told I had a fracture in the middle of my back T11 vertebrae she also told me the emergency room ordered an exray of the lower spine instead of in the middle of my spine where my injury was. Needless to say I have been walking around for over a month with a fractured vertebrae because the emergency room Dr ordered the wrong exray. read more

This place is honestly full of rude, unprofessional, petty workers and receptionist they don't care about the people that walk in, they will argue with you, give you attitude, and even try to make your experience worst if you got on their bad side. They are only there to make money and go home, they have no sympathy whatsoever for the people who walk through their door. Everytime I go to that hospital I have an issue with how rude the receptionists is and it's actually awful how they don't even improve their work environment at all. I had an excellent experience at Lowell Hospital in 2021 when I had my first daughter. Everything flawless! My second child was born in the month of December, specifically on the 26th! As I had to have a cesarean and I was at risk of uterine rupture, I scheduled the surgery for the 23rd of December. But unfortunately I tested positive for covid. As I would have to stay 4 days away from my 1 year old daughter, I decided to reschedule the surgery. I took the test two days later at CVS and it was negative, I knew I didn't have covid anymore, I asked the hospital to do the test again and they didn't accept it. I was isolated in the room for almost 3 days. So far so good. But I want to report two things that happened, when I arrived at the hospital, I was poorly attended by two people who were at the reception where I did the first procedures because I was having a contraction. They monitored me for a few minutes and said that they would send Lara home because, according to them, I was not in labor. But I know my body and I knew I was. Luckily, one of the people at the reception, by the name of Paula, decided to take the test to see if the water had broken. Result? My water had broken and I didn't realize it as I went to the bathroom to pee and thought it was just urine. She previously said that they didn't have enough anesthesiologists at the hospital, they didn't have a doctor to deliver my baby, but when she saw that my water had broken, everything she said she didn't have available at the hospital appeared. A friend and I who were with me noticed that the tonality of her voice and that of another nurse who was with her was not good. I asked Paula: are you mad at me because I canceled the c-section on Friday (December 23) and now that I'm in pain I've come to the hospital to see what's going on? Why are you treating me badly? From then on, everything changed, she changed the tone of her voice and started treating me well. The rest of the staff, the anesthesiologist, the doctor who delivered me and a nurse called Meg, were wonderful, wonderful! I have no words to thank them enough. The delivery was perfect, my son came safely and I was super happy. I give nanowires a bad review, but it's good for them to improve in some ways. I went to the isolated room for which I had covid, and so far so good. I was well cared for, even though I knew I was no longer with covid. My symptoms with covid started December 7th as I reported it to the doctor and I believe it was a false positive on the test I took. But so far so good! I was released to go home ahead of schedule, I was happy to be able to go home with my son and see my 1 year and 3 month old daughter. But when my husband went to pick me up (he couldn't see me during the days I was in the hospital, they didn't let him see me), he forgot my bag on the bed. When I realized I forgot the bag it was time to go and clean the room. They threw my bag away with all my son's records and birth certificate. Yes, they threw it all away! like I have a terminal and extremely contagious disease, like I can't get my own bag. I was extremely disappointed. It does not justify throwing away a patient's bag, putting it inside another bag as protection and returning it. Anyway, these two situations, the service when I arrived at the hospital and when I left were bad experiences. Other than that, I don't have much to complain about. read more

My wife who worked there for over 15 years as BSN RN, she recieved the worst possible care because she was having breathing issues. I got so upset at the care she received here. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone seeking urgent care. During the 7 hours she was there, she was seen twice! What horrible care could a place inflict upon a person - they honestly had no interest in helping my wife who was genuinely really sick. my husband went there because we believe he has kidney stones. the staff at the emergency entrance were very nice and helpful. We waited about an hour. Then they brought us in a room, then no one came in or talked to us for 3 hours. A male nurse final comes over because I'm now waiting out of the room asked if he peed in a cup? Well no one told us anything at all I mean not even how are you etc. never mind give us a cup. WOW ! He brings him a cup, I who never say anything to anyone. Told him someone should have at least came in to check on us. He told me none of the nurses can do anything. The doctor should be in soon. We waited...gave up , left and never seen a doctor after 4 1/2 hours. It was bad and sad. I have friends who are nurses they are very good to their patients and even people who are not. My mother spent over three weeks in Lowell General after a minor stroke. The nursing care was excellent. They were caring and attentive and she felt at home there. While one case manager was difficult to deal with and at times unreasonable, the second one assigned to my mother went above and beyond. This is the absolute worst hospital emergency room I have ever seen .. on Christmas 2021 my 16 year old son fell on ice an split the back of his head open dizzy and throwing up in the ER and they leave him there for 7 hours before my wife left and took him to Tufts in Boston .. Please do not waste your time here I wouldn't let the people in this ER wipe my dogs behind . And when you call you get the rudest people on the phone .. No one can or will help .. every excuse in the book is used .. How can you leave a child bleeding and dizzy for 7 hours .. They were extremely understanding of my initial confusion and made me feel welcome immediately. This was a very in depth visit however never felt hurried. Came to the E.R for chest pains and the doctor told me "the emergency rooms are for people with emergencies" and made me feel bad for coming to the E.R. Without bothering to run any diagnostics the doctor told me I have covid symptoms and to go home and have a good day. (I already tested negative for covid two days prior). I was admitted for a simple surgery for a 3 day stay. It turned into a 2nd surgery, massive infection with a stay in icu. Developed icu dementia that is yet to resolve 9 months later. Staff was told that something wasn't right with me and they ignored it. Finally passed off to a rehab, where I was abused. Now I will need a third surgery to fix damage caused. A second ovary was taken out when only one was bad and I was never told. That can be life threatening due to lack of hormones. Do yourself a favor and don't sign any consent forms. You will have no recourse. Go to another hospital. Too many errors here. Magnate award means nothing when it's given because of local statistics. read more
