We have dealt with sunnyside cemetery for yrs. With the way they run n maintain the cemetery n all they do is give us the run around the people they have working have no respect for anyone n no manager to run the place which in my eyes is crazy u cant have a business with out someone who know what n how to run it. It is just really disappointing that we pay so much to bury our love ones n expect them to respect n take care of the grounds as they should.

One star only because zero isn't an option. If I receive a return call or see meaningful action on the services we've already paid for, I will gladly update this review. Until then, more than six months after my father's passing, his grave is still marked with a temporary paper marker. My parents prepaid for my father's military headstone in the late 1990s. After my father passed away in January, my mother also paid in March to upgrade their shared marble marker with a different vase style. Despite repeated follow-ups, the headstone remains uninstalled. Each time we've called or visited the office to ask for an update, we've been given conflicting information and promises that have not been fulfilled. Rather than receiving honest communication or realistic timelines, we've been left with more questions than answers. To make matters worse, last summer my father paid approximately $700 to have the engraving on his parents' headstone repainted. The paint washed away within two weeks. We were told a new vendor had been hired and that the work would be corrected promptly. Nearly a year later, that repair still has not been completed. This isn't about asking for anything extra. We're simply asking the cemetery to fulfill the commitments that were paid for years ago and to complete the work that has already been purchased. Grieving families should never have to repeatedly chase a cemetery for updates, accountability, or basic follow-through. The lack of communication, urgency, and compassion has been deeply disappointing. It is especially unfortunate because families in Sunnyside no alternatives for cemetery services. We sincerely hope this review results in someone taking responsibility, communicating honestly, and completing the memorials and repairs our family has already paid for. read more

Over a year after services paid for, work still not performed. Was humiliated and belittled by office staff when calling about problem. It appears numerous other complaints and a news article published is also getting no results on this corrupt outfit. This company seriously needs to be investigated and its staff replaced with a competant staff. read more

My family the Crabtree's and Coburn's are buried there. The grass is dead, we can't find some of the stones because the grass had grown over them and the cups for flowers. Every year my family has to travel there with our own garden tools to clean up the headstones. They placed one stone so close to the road that it got ran over and cracked and refused to pay for it. Seriously thinking about lawsuit if anyone else is willing to jump on board with us. read more

Have had several issues with secretary Joanna not giving the family and I straight answers about issues pertaining to our loved one who has passed, having his headstone being knocked down off its base and now his bench being broken in broad daylight. According to Joanna she had no knowledge of how it happened or who did it causing my family and I emotional distress because this has happened twice now and the first time we were unaware of who dropped his headstone and now this second time with the bench that was over $2,000 being broken we had to find out from another source that she does know exactly what happened the whole time, but continues to change her stories why? We have no idea but she really doesn't care about grieving families and has a horrible attitude towards people instead of solving the solution and bringing clarity to the situation. I still don't understand after all of the other families who have complained as well about her attitude and how she is in communicating with others, why she still has her position?! Been trying to contact the owners and no answer! read more

My mother was buried 1 month ago in the Sunnyside cemetery. My brother is also buried there and my father along with many other relatives. I was there today to visit them and became very upset about the way their gravesite looks. At my mothers gravesite all the grass is is completely dead. The ground was not leveled out before they put the grass back in place so by the headstone, it is about 6" lower than the rest. When I returned to my house I called John Miller, owner of the cemetery. I told him who I was and told him I had just been to the cemetery. He was very nice and said, "Oh good." As soon as I told him I left the cemetery very upset about the way it was being taken care of, HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!! I can not believe that this is someone we had trusted to take care of our loved ones. We paid a 10% fee for each grave for endowed care. The money must be going into someones pocket because it sure isn't going to make sure the cemetery is taken care of properly. Diane Beaver Wenger read more

This cemetery is aweful. They have their chapel locked so visitors cant go in and visit loved ones. The maintenance is terrible they go weeks without mowing and lied when we asked why the water hadnt been on, they said the irrigation wasnt running yet but we called the irrigation and they told us that they have started the water a week prior. The Girl in the front office and foreman of grounds are rude. read more

First, the day of the viewing, the funeral director called an hour before the viewing started to say her hair and makeup was not done. The 2 daughters had to scramble and do the hair and makeup by themselves as attendees were walking in. Second, the day of the service the unprofessional funeral director came out at the start of the service to announce to all attendees the pastor (who he recommended) was a no-show. The funeral director asked another pastor who was just attending to officiate the service without consulting with the family. That pastor was not prepared nor knew anything about my mom and spoke about my mom's husband. Then there was the graveside service, lasted a whole 30 seconds after just 1 prayer. The funeral director told everyone 'if you want, you can add sand or a boutanier' and announced we were done. Everyone drove 20 minutes to get to the graveside and expected an appropriate and honorable graveside service for my mom. This whole experience with this funeral home and director was an embarrassment to the family and was a disgrace.

You did a horrible job I will never recommend them to anyone who has lost a loved one. It was not organized what so ever! That is not the Family job they trusted you how sad.

People can say things online about anyone, even if they don't really know the person. I've never met this Shannon person but she still gave her input here, and she wasn't at the cemetery that day when the 3 men attacked me. ------- I understand how malicious rumors can spread however, since you were not present on the day of the incident, here is actually what happened. Three men came to the cemetery unannounced and cornered me on my utility vehicle while I was working on my day off, helping a family. They made numerous threats against my life and to harm me physically, stating they were going to beat me to death. I jumped off the utility vehicle very quickly and retreated backwards and told the men that I will call the sheriff. I told the men that I was armed, to stay back and they still continued to come at me in an aggressive manor. It was at this point that I was fearful for my safety and only pulled my weapon in self defense because they told me that they would leave me for dead in the cemetery stating it would be an hour before the Sheriff would find me. I immediately called 911 and the third individual took off running to his silver 4 door mid size car and left the scene on Van Belle. Apparently, these men brought an 11 year old boy to watch them in action from their truck. I've heard from several of their own family members, and they tell me that "my family are known for threatening people and that they have always been that way." There were no charges filed against me that day for my actions and unbeknownst to the men threatening me there was a witness to the attack. read more

We have had a number of issues with the past manager and the last secretary Joanna about our mothers head stone not having a date of her passing away. Also our grandson site looks like no one bothers to water the grass as it is completely dead. We met with John Miller who advised us he had no idea of any complaint made by anyone regarding the total disregard of the Memorial Gardens. He further advised us the some of the past employees were laundering money to a cartel and some were already in prison for their actions. We advised Mr. Miller that we would be taking legal action for breach of contract if our issues were not cleared up. We are going to ask people to file a class action suit against this corporation. Somehow their office at the cemetery burned down destroying a lot of information. It has gone on long enough. For a 1 man…read morecompany, they are precise, and care about their work and make sure property is left clean of all clipping, debris, etc. Neighbors ask if I am opening a golf course with how straight the lines are, clean and professional my yard looks every time he mows my yard. I asked how he does it so well, and he said he never mulches (unless distinctly requested), will not mow when the grass is wet (said this only damages the grass and is hard on his mower) and he takes pride in his work. That right there, pride in his work, is the mark of a professional and not a fly by night lawn mowing company. If you need a lawn maintenance company, you will not regret calling DK Lawn. Their drivers were able to negotiate the twists and turns in very large trucks with no problems or hitting anything. They are good drivers. They removed and pruned the trees then did a bang up clean up job. Several of the large branches were located in an area where something on the ground under them could have been damaged; Uribe's Tree Service was able to remove everything without damaging things on the ground. I not only recommend Uribe's Tree Service I plan on having them back for two or more jobs. Great service!
