A Client of mine brought a box of Lowery's Choclates as a tip for the work we did for him. This is the best Chocolate that I have had in many years. People rave a bout DeBrand in Ft Wayne, but they are not even close to the wonderfull treats in that box from Lowery's. The dark chocolate covered Cherry was the best I have ever had. Maple and Vanilla creams as well as orange and raspbarry. Nut clusters. Oh my, it just got better and better as we ate them. I will be making a trip to Muncie soon! I have no idea how much that box cost, but I will be buying some for friends family and of course myself! read more

Hands down the best chocolate shop in Indiana! If you're ever in the area, this is the way to go. Their toffee is especially heavenly. All of the women that work in the shop are friendly and helpful. Customer service is terrible, and you can't believe what is said even when you go out of your way to make sure about availability. My senior friend called probably at least a week before Christmas, maybe several weeks before, since he would be traveling over an hour to Muncie from the south side of Indy. He had asked if they had the assorted creams available since that is what he wanted to give me. He was told that, yes, they did have those available. He wasn't told to purchase over the phone to make sure that is what he would be able to get. After driving all that way, he arrived there and was told they were out of them and all they had left was vanilla cream and peanut butter. Exasperated and truly disappointed as well as frustrated, he bought several pounds of each. I received my Christmas candy with apologies and explanation from him. I was shocked that this is what happened after he made such an attempt ahead of time to get the right thing. I am okay with the vanilla cream even tho it's not a flavor I would buy myself, but I don't really care for the peanut butter. Neither flavor was something I really like. All I can say is "thanks Lowery for doing such a terrible job and ruining my friend's day, wasting his long trip to Muncie and back, and not doing good customer service ahead of time to honor his efforts". Lowery's Candies was one of my early reviews and it's long overdue for an update after eight years. Recently I received a card in the mail that it was time to order for Easter. Since I'm on their mailing list I typically get reminders for Christmas and Easter. It's been a few years since I ordered chocolate Easter eggs filled with candy. This was a tradition in my home growing up. They have several sizes to choose from. The largest egg has over a pound of candy. They offer online ordering, however I called for a special arrangement. The staff is always super and I love talking with the ladies who have lovingly made hand dipped chocolates for decades. I ordered two large with peanut butter, toffee and dark secrets. Three of my favorites too! Of course the kids would share right? LOL Staff at Lowery's called to confirm the order was complete and mailing from Indiana to Virginia overnight. My package arrived the next day packed nicely with ice packs to ensure they would not be affected by temperature. As always the candy was pure heaven and my daughter ate both egg and a pound within the week. It's that good! My son is more disciplined and enjoys one a day. Toffee is both of there favorites. Lowery's closes for the Summer, so get your order in by mid May. They ship any where in the U.S. The chocolates are among the best I've ever tasted and they continue to use old school methods and guarded secret family recipes. Lowery's is local, not chain and welcomes new customers to spread the word of their history of candy making that dates to the 1940's. read more

Last year I went the service was fantastic. This year the Saturday before Mother's Day I stopped in with all the moms in the car to buy them chocolate. There's an older lady with glasses very tall playing with the chocolates with her hands no gloves on. I don't know who the owner is and who the other two people were but they were not very nice. I asked for bonbon size and they got insulted. I asked for a pound of chocolate assorted and another pound of chocolate with nuts. The lady just threw nuts into the box. I couldn't believe they wouldn't go individually into wrappers whatever. The biggest insult was on me putting up with people that don't want me in their place and at the register charging me $62 for 2 pounds of chocolate guess who's never going there again. I'd rather have truffles from Macy's Godiva brand. At least I get a beautiful presentation in the world's best chocolate and a lower price. If you don't wanna be nice to your customer sell the place to somebody that will and don't play with the food with your hands with no gloves on after you've been messing with the register and credit cards I just can't even believe I have to tell someone older this sort of thing. read more

Looove Lowery's and have since I was a kid. My grandma use to buy us their giant chocolate Easter eggs with treats inside. And every Holiday season my grandma gifted Lowery's to her clients or my school teachers as thank you's. As an adult and living so far away I miss having Lowery's all the time and I'm so thankful they ship. We have picked up traditional holiday boxes to take home this year along with other little treats. Mixed holiday box is $24(I think, but it maybe $25) - I know it's not cheap, but that's because everything is going up in pricing. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place! Growing-up in East Central Indiana, I fond memories of Lowery's chocolates at many holidays. I stopped by today to get a box of chocolates to take to a dinner tonight. Their chocolates are not the fancy European artisan type, but rather your good old fashioned homemade chocolates! They have assortments of nuts and cream and milk and dark chocolate. All are delicious! They do a wonderful job of creating novelty holiday treats! Today the shop was filled with valentine surprises. My favorite is their Easter egg that is a hallow egg filled with wrapped chocolates. This should be on your list to order in a few months. If you are in the Muncie area, this is a must stop! Several weeks ago I ordered 5 boxes of their candy over their website for my elderly mother who also lives in Muncie. My mother is unable to get to their store so we were happy to pay for shipping for the convenience. These were Christmas gifts sje wpuld be giving to friends. After a few weeks of waiting, my mother called Lowreys to see what the hold up was. She was told the candy had been delivered two days earlier by the husband of the person on the phone. She was told he had given the candy to someone on a different street and was then told by that neighbor that she knew my mother and that she would see it got to her. When my mother asked who they had given the candy to,they had no idea. What kind of business practice is this? When you pay for shipping you expect in the very least that the item will be delivered to the person who purchased it--not to a random house a street over. And when you find out you are at the wrong house with way over $100 of merchandise, you don't just leave it there! And in a pandemic! This was ridiculous. Their candy is good, but if you are unable to go in person, it isn't worth it. You will be charged for shipping and instead of using a carrier, they will hand deliver it and not care if they leave it at the correct house. Two days after the candy was misdelivered, the neighbor got around to bringing it to my mother. The opportunities to give it to the people she had planned had passed. read more

The legendary Lowery's candy shop is a Muncie institution along the lines of Pizza King and Concannons. They use Blommer chocolate from Chicago to make their wonderful candies. This is just simply great american hand-dipped candy; not all a jazzed up with gold leaf and rolled fondant. Some of my personal fav's consist of their bourbon cherries, dark secrets, and their pecan balls. They are not open during the summer because it's too hot for the chocolate so plan accordingly! read more
