Tremendous selection of items and mostly at a reasonable price. Other perks like financing options and MyLowes card are nice as well. I especially enjoy the rental truck or van. Odd thing about how employees treat you. If I stop in wearing my business attire, everyone wants to tell me how to do stuff and almost seem to think I am lost. If I come in work boots and a Carhart jacket, no one bothers me unless I ask but I seem to be automatically considered to know more. Just an odd observation. I'd make this a 5 star review but I find it a nightmare to find straight lumber for big projects where I might need a lot of it. Not so bad if only looking for a few boards. Oh and customer service is great. If you have a problem with an item, there is generally no hassle and a replacement is easy to obtain. Installers can be hit or miss. Patty McGuinly (spelling?) is amazing at hardwood and even cut it so it forms around the stone of my fireplace. Installed damaged range hood 06.16. Had to call Customer Service twice for any promise of action. Spoke with CS on 06.23; told me store had not yet reordered replacement hood; promised to update me by end of business day on 06.25. On 06.25, I received an email informing me that installation was complete; this sounded like Lowes was washing their hands of situation. So, on 06.26, I bought the hood elsewhere. On 06.30, I received a call from Lowes CS informing me that they reordered the hood. I told them I would be returning hood. CS informed me that I was still responsible for paying $150 installation fee. I advised CS that I will never buy anything from Lowes again; she was fine with that. Service - almost non existent except for a few employees who, come to find out, agree with me, usually retirees with deep experience in the trades or related. I usually don't mind since I know where everything is most than employees who either say, "I'm new", I'm just stocking stuff, or, thank God consult to their handy online store map. Something I usually do once I can't find someone. (The app should map and show employees in real time on that store map). I often ask customers who are clearly either frustrated or pissed where they can find stuff. I've over heard employees telling those who are not sure what to do or what product to use absolute rubbish, then step in after the employee is gone and ask if they want accurate information. Selection - this store is closest to me, but far more poorly stocked than adjacent Lowes stores. Has less variety and some product are not stocked. When I come home with nothing or go to the local Ace store to get what I want, my wife asks me why I torture myself. Layers of dust on products sitting on shelves too long do not bother me since paying another employee to do the dusting only takes way from more critical functions. Value? Close to the penny vs Home Depot if they actually carry the product. Lack of value exists when I have to go elsewhere. I had an interview with Lowe's Bethlehem today. Never Never Ever again. Very unprofessional. Had an appointment at 2:15 for the interview for cashier. The original person wasn't there to give said interview. Customer service said please come sit here. Normally statisfied with Lowe's contractors, did carpet and garage doors. Went today to see about removing a tub, updating q shower and a vanity. They said they had contractors that could do it the for me. Later I got a call From " Bath fitters" saying they were the Lowe's contractor. Had the same issue with Home Depot, had them come for an estimated. They came in and gave me a quote of $24,000. An earlier contractor quoted $3,500. Did not go forward with Bath Fitter. Interesting both from Lowe's and Home Depot Bath Fitter quote both would not use Lowe's or Home Depot bath/shower products, they had their own supplier. Lowe's delivery sevice is terrible, I bought a refrigerator from them on Tuesday 3/25/24 and told me they could deliver on thursday the 27th I would get a call the night before to let me know when my 4 hour delivery window would be, they called and told me between 12:30 to 4:30 so I figured i would go to work till noon and be home by 12:30. they delivered it at 10am and left it sit outside. I called and complained and they came back around 1 to put it in the house and the guy told me Im lucky he came back he was doing it as a favor to me, I raised my voice when he told me that and he said he would take back the refrigerator so I told him to take it back if thats what he wants so he ended up taking it back. Another sweet experience today from this Lowe's. Order three items online at 10am. Come to the store to pick up at Noon. No one can find the three items as they are not in the holding cage. Well, four associates and a good 15+ minutes later one of the associates goes to get the three items since apparently no one bothered to. So once again the 20 minute guarantee is moot as even with two hours my order still wasn't ready and I wound up waiting almost as long as the guarantee in the store while the customer service team was clueless as to where the order was or even if it had been picked. It's a shame because I'm a True Believer in Lowe's but this is the worst one I've ever dealt with. Most of the people that work here don't know what customer service is they're very serious faced and it just seems to be a job. No one seems to have a passion for customer service here. It's obvious from the top down that there is no customer service culture being created. The main reason why customers are in the store is simply because Lowe's is a great brand they do good marketing but loyalty is not being driven from the store. And to top it all off if you deal with Professional Services and get anything installed or even get a quote a lot of times you'll be doing the follow-up calls because they don't get back to you they don't keep you informed it's a shame. I personally spent over $15,000 at this location in the last couple of years and my money will now go to other Lowe's locations and no longer this one. read more

Make it clear on the web how to set up pickup service. Every Lowe's I go to has clerks randomly walking around all over but never actually can tell me exactly where to find what I want. Other time I have seen clerks turn another way even if I was aisles away. As I went past they would be just standing still doing nothing. At one Lowe's I had to interact with six clerks to get one roller shade cut to length. I am stunned if there is more than one cashier open, where there are no self checkouts. At one store there was once eight of us in line for one cashier while four teenagers in the paint department were having a phone and chat fest next to us. Thought we were getting a great deal, but instead here's what happened: - We ordered the black friday washer, but they rang us up wrong - Fortunately we noticed the mistake on our receipt and had to call to have it changed - When we called, suddenly we couldn't get the black friday washer and had to get something else in a similar price range - That item wasn't in stock but they assured us delivery would still be very soon - Now about a month later, Lowe's has our $$, Edgar probably has commission, and we still do not have a washer and dryer - Every time we call, we get different details and reasons why our washer hasn't been delivered, plus we've spent hours on hold with the Bethlehem store, changed our work schedules to be home for said deliveries, and had a really negative customer experience If you want to buy something from Lowe's, go to a different location or order online. read more

I was so impressed with this Lowe's. I did a lot of research on using Chalk paint (different than chalkboard paint) but I still had questions because I was painting my grandparent's furniture and did not ruin it, plus it was my everyday use furniture. I started my search at Home Depot and it was useless, the staff was no help and half the products they list on their website they do not carry in the store and they admit to that. That doesn't help me. I went into Lowe's with a list of what I needed and the man in the paint department knew exactly what I was talking about and what I needed. He also walked me through the steps compared to what I had. I left the store feeling more confident about my projects. My furniture turned out beautifully and I now work on more projects. The store is CLEAN, well lite and everything is easy to find on your own without wondering aimlessly in the aisles until you find an associate. Zero Stars to Lowes 8th Avenue in Bethlehem. I was injured during to a visit to this Lowe's Store. I was with a sales associate at the time of the injury. He witnessed the event. He put tape around several pointy pieces of rebar that were sticking out of the bundle obstructing the walkway. The points of the rebar hit my knee cap as I was walking by. My thigh and my calf started hurting as well from the impact. I made a report to the store because I was having trouble walking and was suffering with the ache in my thigh and calf. Two managers were present while I was filling out the paperwork. They then added insult to injury when the woman manager leaned down towards my face and intimidatingly said, "You know we are going to look at the tapes." It was very awkward and I just wanted to cry that I was being treated that way. Well the report was sent to the Claims department and I received a call from them. At that point I had seen an orthopedic and had to start physical therapy. The claims department sent release forms to get the records from the hospital, orthopedic and physical therapy. I then received a notice from my insurance company saying that someone else may be responsible for payment because it was an injury. I explained this to the claims department. I asked him if he saw the security tape he told me that he never received any security tapes of the incident and that if I wanted to see them I would have to hire a lawyer. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TWO MANAGERS FOR THE GREAT COVER-UP JOB. This is why folks we need lawyers. After several months of Physical therapy my orthopedic doctor told me that physical therapy wasn't going to work and my knee is now what it would've looked like in five years. My knee has never been the same. I didn't even get an I'M SORRY FOR NEGLIGENTLY LEAVING A BUNDLE OF REBAR WITH SEVERAL POINTY ENDS STICKING OUT OBSTRUCTING THE WALKING AISLE. I ordered a custom front door and storm door and used one of Lowe's recommended subcontractors - Johnathan Gerancher. I ordered the door, paid $3,100 up front in March and after numerous delays and cancellations they finished the job July 3rd! They sent contractors who had no idea what they were doing when they arrived and left a mess on the yard every time. The door they recommended was too large and they had to cut the brick of my home on both sides of the door to make it fit. I had to continuously call the store and contractor to get them to discuss multiple miss-cuts in the trim work and sloppy workmanship. They finally sent out a guy who knew what he was doing to try and fix the mess. They were contracted to paint and finish the door inside and out. They left nail holes on the entire outside of the door, trim cut too short above the door, and there needs to be more spackling and finish work on the inside as well. I contacted the contractor by text and the store by email for a final inspection and never heard back. What a debacle! I ordered hardwood flooring online and the shipment was coming from Bethlehem, PA Lowes. I received a couple of e-mails that the shipment would be delivered on a specific date and the approximate time. They arrived on time but then told me that they would only deliver CURBSIDE. They would drop my $3000.00 worth of HARDWOOD flooring outside my home but not take it inside. This was on the 5 degree day we had in PA in January. The driver told me that Lowes was supposed to tell me that I needed other people to come to my home and bring the merchandise inside. The e-mails NEVER said this. An hour later and tons of phone calls later I had the people who were installing the floor come to my house to bring the flooring inside. Otherwise I would have had to cancel the order and send it back. There is no way hardwood can sit outside like that and not be ruined. It seems Lowes subcontracts the deliveries out and this is what happened to me. But did not clarify this in any e-mail. I did call and fuss and get a discount for my troubles but buyer beware. This was a ridiculous lack of communication and took hours of my time to resolve just so I could proceed with my project as planned. I expected better from Lowes. read more

Terrible customer service. My mom passed away and I bought a stove to be delivered to her house as it was for sale. I asked if they could call me 10-30 minutes before delivery and they said yes...3 times. I asked when I ordered, asked the day before the order was scheduled and asked the morning as well...each time the answer was yes. They went to the empty house with the delivery, and then reported no one was there and clocked out and went home. Their service manager John said they couldn't promise a call....but they did!!! I literally went in there to buy a few items for my internet and absolutely no one was helpful at all I stood there for about 45 minutes waiting for somebody to come up to me and ask me what I need I had to ask 2 people and none of them were knowledgeable about anything I was talking about. I ordered online and got shunted to this store, they canceled my order a week in for no reason then I had to place it again thinking it was a fluke and not just mismanagement but I was wrong. I thought they were supposed to have a 48 hour turnaround from when I went online and placed the order for installation (I have to pay separately) but they couldn't even be bothered with sending the order to the installer for 4 Days, when I called via telephone to some national customer service they tried to make it sound like it's good news I should be hearing from them by tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath. Do yourself a favor and pay somebody else to do your installation I can't imagine any other company behaving like this. At this point I'm not even mad I'm just vaguely entertained by how absurd this is, it feels like I'm waiting for friend's husband to carve out the time to do me a favor not like I'm paying a company a lot of money for a job. If you happen to be somebody who works full-time and your time is valuable and or you have an appliance that really needs to be replaced in a hurry you definitely don't want to do this- it's bananas. Once again i have had a stellar customer service experience at this Lowe's. Through my own fault- (i was lazy and did not get a cart) i dropped a can of paint that i was balancing on a bag of potting soil and it exploded all over the parking lot and the bag of potting soil which also hit the ground. i went back inside to try to get some paper towels to save what i had left of the paint and to wipe off the bag of potting soil. the woman who had checked me out was very helpful even though she had a line of people waiting to be serviced. i went back to the parking lot and a young man who was on his way into the store to work his shift asked if i was alright and needed help. the sales associate who helped me earlier came back out with more towels and a fresh bag of potting soil to replace the one covered in paint. i apologized profusely for all the trouble i caused and she was so kind and helpful and assured me it was no trouble and was just concerned for me. this is a marked contrast to every experience i have had at Home Depot where i can never find anyone to help me even though i have money to spend. the employees are surly and unhelpful. The Lowe's employees went out of their way to help me even after the sale which to me is great customer service. read more
