Dave and Linda took the time to make sure that we had the correct battery for our new mower. He took the time to show us how to properly insert the battery. Had a patio set sent to Canandaigua Lowes...the employees that work here are completely inept....one of the three packages were missing. The customer service is the worst I have ever seen. I couldn't imagine anyplace worse. Tried to call them and their recording was supposed to connect me with a department. Phone rang for 21 minutes in that department and then they took the phone off the hook and left it off. Heard people talking by the phone but no one would pick it up and talk to me. Bought a frigidaire side by side refrigerator in January 2023 from Canandaigua, NY Lowes and purchased the Lowes 5 year protection plan. after 6 months had multiple problems and called the protection plan number. Had 3 service call visits that did not solve the problems. eventually the refrigerator stopped working completely only 9 months old. Had to buy new refrigerator and have been attempting to get refund for 9 month old broken fridge as well as get broken fridge taken away. Now after 3 months still have broken fridge in garage and no refund. DO NOT ever purchase the protection plan from Lowes. it is completely and utterly useless and waste of your money. if I could give less than one star review I would definitely do that. DO NOT buy any appliances from Lowes. read more

I am so disappointed. When you walk in the store, it feels like entering Nordstroms. Everyone greets you, asks if they can help. Then, if you are considering a new kitchen countertop, caveat emptor. The saleswoman significantly underestimated the cost. The installer, Stone Central, came out with a laser to measure our small kitchen - for 2 1/2 hours. Then, he had to come back again since he apparently made an error. We waited, never heard from Lowes, so stopped in to see our contact. "Oh," she says, "I was just about to call you." We paid the additional $750 and waited. For two weeks. She did not know how to send the paperwork to Stone Central confirming that we paid the revised amount. Apparently, the third time was the charm. Stone Central installed in countertops and left a 3/8" - 1/2" gap between it and two walls. We sent them pictures, their only solution was to provide a vertical 2" high backsplash that was a totally different color and, therefore, unacceptable. We had to pay a handyman to place wooden molding to hide the gap and then paint it to match the wall color. Neither Stone Central nor Lowes wold cover this cost. I then called Lowes' customer service department, was given a manager's email address. I wrote her, describing the issue and she has never written back. Do not use Lowes for any large job as they do not stand behind their work nor that of their third party installers. read more

I just spent 15 minutes at the paint counter trying to get a color sample for a design project I am currently working on. I was told that my can of unmixed paint was perfectly fine and that I could stir at myself. I can't believe I just paid money for that. The level of talent at this location lacks luster. This is my second encounter with an uneducated, disrespectful associate. Never will I visit this location again. They should really take some customer service courses from the location in Greece where they are talented, educated and helpful. read more

I just spent an hour searching for two items at the Canandaigua Lowes using their app which indicated that it was in stock and provided an aisle and bin number. Needless to say, neither were at the location specified and it appears that they may not be in stock. The person who is in charge of the department was missing and the person I did find was unable to locate the items. The app is almost totally useless if the store management doesn't keep it updated and accurate. So, after significant frustration and time wasted I'm ordering the items from Amazon. John read more

Worst customer service EVER!!! I ordered 18 boxes of flooring in store for pick-up. I was told flooring would arrive in about a week. No call so we stopped by and was told they tracked it and it was being scanned in on Tuesday. Thursday rolls around, still no word so I called. Was told it was a discontinued item and they couldn't order it. This is the second time this happened to me at two different locations in a matter of weeks. Took my money for product they couldn't get both times and I had to call them multiple times to figure out there was an issue. Not once did they call me back before I called them. I went to Lowe's to buy garden soil . I was trying to get all my shopping done at once since gas is so expensive. No place to park. I drove around their whole lot. Rented a truck today from Lowes in Canandaigua. When returning it, the one woman at the counter had a difficult time figuring out what 90 minutes was from the time the truck was taken and kept figuring out the supposed return time was in fact 10 minutes earlier than what it actually should have been. Add to that the fact that we waited in line in the store before actually getting to the counter(about 5 minutes) so that time was added to the time that we "rented" the truck. I think any time you have to wait in line to get to the counter should be deducted from the total rental time. When I mentioned that we had waited in line for a few mins, the person assisting us gave us attitude and asked if we had "been waiting in line for an hour" and said they could check the cameras to see if that was the case. Wow!! I work in retail so I know customers can really suck, but I didn't feel like we were giving them attitude, just saying that time spent in line shouldn't count as time renting a truck. We were charged for going 30 mins over the 90 minute allotment, but if the 90 minutes was figured out correctly, and the time we spent in line waiting in the store was deducted, the charge should have only been for an additional 15 minutes, not 30. Very poor customer service in my opinion read more

Once in awhile, things go wrong - connections are missed, communications go wrong, etc. But how it's corrected or not that makes all the differience and in my case, Lowes came through and corrected the issue and got me back on track nicely! read more

NEVER USE THE CANANDAIGUA LOWES!! I would NEVER EVER recommend this Lowe's for fence installation, or installation of any kind, if their fence contractors are anything to go by. Completely incapable of communicating, disrespectful, rude and more! My install has been moved 3 times and I STILL DO NOT have an installation date!!! I have been waiting almost 2 months and I am receiving ZERO communication from their contractor. Their contractor, Chris, is incapable of communication, managing his projects in a timely fashion, communicating delays, concerns, date adjustments, ANYTHING, but Lowe's themselves assured me all my product for my fence was IN STOCK and I have paid UP FRONT for everything - then they tell me they can't deliver as scheduled because they don't have everything. april/may 2021-they did NOT care for their plants. a couple other times my experiences were average but tonight, fri sept 10 2021 , HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. 5 workers standing around talking like there was nothing to do at the service desk but wouldn't cash out. had to go stand in a 4 person after walking the whole store to find aisle 28 way the h^ll in the FRONT of the store. no respect for someone limping through the whole store. in the year 2020& all 2021 , EVERY TIME my son has gone to lowe's to have them cut him some boards FOR A HANDICAP SCOOTER RAMP , the saw just happens to be "broken" IN A HARDWARE STORE FULL OF THOSE VERY TOOLS. they seriously need new management. who the hell laid out the aisle # s? read more

Looking for 2 sheets PT plywood to complete my project and went online to search ...... website said 33 sheets in stock. I drove almost 40 miles to pick up. I arrived at the store and found none so I asked an associate for help. He checked and confirmed that they should have 33 sheets. He said he would try and find the plywood while I completed gathering other lumber. He returned and said that he found the plywood but they had it set aside for someone else. I asked why the inventory showed 33 sheets and he said that the person had not paid for it yet so the inventory number was not changed. I said I wanted to buy right now and he said that if he could he would let me have 2 sheets. I asked for a manager. A manager came and said no they were set aside ....... so what I learned was that you should call the store and tell them to set aside anything and then shop elsewhere if you find it don't call Lowe's back they will deny sales to people who are there ready to pay. I have spent tens of thousands of dollar renovating my home over the last 8 years. I put an addition on our house this spring and order all the windows through Lowes Canandaigua. The guys in millwork are helpful, but never seem to be available. I have worked with Ray before and had this issue, now I'm having it again trying to order my interior doors. I stopped in last Wednesday, waited a half hour for Ray to get back from dinner. Her said he would call the door manufacturer in the morning and get back to me. This did not happen. I received a call from Alex on Saturday and he told me he would call on Monday. Called this morning he is not even in today. I called customer service to find out when they would be in, they told me they do not have the schedule. I asked for the storage manger, Mike, they also did not know when he will be in, asked to go to a voice mail or phone for him, he does not have one. I do not write outstanding reviews ever. I have been to Canandaigua Lowe's regularly since they built this store & Chase Pitkin closed. I have gotten the rude cutomer service desk employee. I have gotten the ill-informed "expert" that didn't help at all. I have encountered apathy. But more recently I have encountered excellence & not just once. I have been in many more times than usual lately & have met Marybeth. She has answered my dumb questions, researched information for me & has helped me to solve crazy "think outside of the box" problems. I also found her making sure that customers were taken care of by other Lowe's employees in their jurisdiction. Go see Marybeth when you really need someone who knows or more importantly, can get you the answer. Also, I was helped in the paint department by a woman who really took the time to help me read the labels & make the best choice, & more than once. I was helped greatly by a man who was on his way to his break, but stopped to helped me find the right sealer for my sign. I also have to thank Ryan in flooring. He really knows his department & is very helpful. read more

I am almost ready to move into my new house that was rebuilt after a fire we had in January. I have researched appliances for hours and hours. I have a list of all of my model numbers and just really need to order and pay for the appliances to have them delivered. Don Shepard in the Kitchen Cabinet department was so amazing in helping me plan and order my kitchen cupboards and counter top that I never thought twice about going to Lowes Canandaigua for my appliances. Didn't check pricing. Just went to the store TWICE to order. The first time on August 7th I went with my 18 year old daughter. The gentleman in that particular area was working with someone so we just looked around and waited patiently. The previous customer left and we were left standing there for 35 minutes unacknowledged. 35 minutes. Not one "I will be right with you". Not one " What can I do for you today?" Nothing. Deciding that it would better be left for another day...we left. On August 18th I went in to the Lowes Canandaigua store again. List in hand. It was almost 8:00 pm so I thought it would be a great time to get this chore done. Stood in the appliance section for 10 minutes. During that time one young man walked right past me, looked at me and kept going. Five minutes later another man came into the appliance area and asked if I needed help. I said yes and he said ok. Checked a computer and left the area. 15 minutes after that encounter, I added up the amount that I had intended to spend there. $6300.00 plus tax. I quickly walked up to the customer service desk where I showed the young lady there my phone. Her name was Kayla. I told her that was the amount that I had tried to spend there twice. Twice and was unable to be helped. I didn't even have any questions about the products. I just needed to purchase them. She really could not have cared one single bit. She pointed to the hardware section and said "well the guy that is working in the appliance section is right there. He is helping someone else right now". I have worked in customer service for 20 years. This was unacceptable. If any one person had acknowledged me on either of my trips they would have made the sale. If Kayla had been trained properly enough to apologize and perhaps get me immediate assistance they still would have made the sale. Instead I find myself writing this awful review before heading out to Home Depot to purchase my appliances. I haven't yet decided whether I should bother calling the store or not yet. I will absolutely contact Don in Kitchen Cabinets. He is the only thing I can say isn't a joke there. He is very talented and genuinely enjoys his job.
