I chose Lowes for my Security Door Project based on the cost of the door as well as the advertised installation cost of $199 per Lowes website. When the installer quoted me $219 I did complain to no avail but it is an OVERCHARGE none the less from the quoted installation cost. Even more disturbing was the ADDITIONAL $190 that was added to the installation cost for 'custom labor'. Double dipping?? This was a straightforward install of a standard size security screen door in a standard size opening with maybe 10 minutes to install a small extension at the bottom of the door.NOTHING justifying an additional $190. If i could give this store zero stars I absolutely would. My husband has been buying stuff from this store for years and he went to buy a bathroom vanity. He wanted to have some questions answered about this vanity but for some reason the knowledgeable staff could just not answer the very basic question. They told him to use the phone to call an expert. There was a five dollar charge to do so. They never answered this call but yet charged him the five dollars and not only that some how signed him up for a 65 a month charge without his consent or knowledge. To Whom it May Concern, This review is because I am having the most difficult time getting my refund processed for a thermostat that I purchased and returned through the Lowes app with a gift card with this location as my favored site. The order number is 300902163254789193. The case number assigned last week 8/16/25 is 69671085. I was informed yesterday that the case number in question states that I refused delivery of the product when I did not. The representative on the day I received my case number reassured me that I would get my refund and that I should see an email stating such in three business days. That never happened. During my call yesterday 8/23/25 from 12:14p to 1:39p I was told a number of things that were alarming because they were blatant lies. In addition to being told that I had refused delivery I was then told that I could not get my refund by the manager who called himself Tony. Who not only put my phone call on hold without explanation, but in the end, returned me to the main menu in order to avoid answering my questions. During our short time together in the call I asked him if our phone call was being recorded. He did say yes so I asked him for his name at that point and told him that I would like a corporate contact email or phone number in order to escalate above his head and he told me there were no such numbers or emails that I could use and that he was my last resort. During my time speaking with him, he told me that the FedEx people were going to call me at which time I explained to him that I did not have a tracking number the same as I had explained to the associate before speaking to him as again the email that provided the shipping label expired and sent me to my order refund status showing the processing only issue. The associate had actually told me that they have no record of sending a shipping label and that I couldn't have shipped it, to where I had told her I have an email with the shipping label (see below). That's when I went into that email to try to pull the tracking number and instead of pushing me through to the label I had printed it and placed to a page where my package showed it was processing (see below) also, stating that the return package had arrived at the processing center and was still in the processing status. Being told that FedEx would contact me had me asking how when they don't have my contact information. I asked for the tracking number from both the associate and the manager and they could not provide it, I asked that he, the manager bypass me having to wait for FedEx to call since they did not have my contact information and I could not call them because I did not have a tracking number to issue the refund. He told me he could not help me. It all seemed like a very elaborate ploy to stop me from getting my rightful refund. Is it because something nefarious happened with my refund? Why would a manager not try his best to make it right concerning a returned item? Why spin me in circles unless there was criminal intent? And so I am asking for a full investigation with San Diego DA's office and plan to file a complaint with the ftc as to why this turned out the way it has. Hoping my refund to be issued ASAP via a gift card as that was the form of payment used. Because not only does it seem criminal that I was lied to on multiple occasions concerning my return but to be basically hung up on in the end was even more concerning. The manager Tony has left me with a very uneasy feeling and now we are going to drop using lowes as our hardware go to. He had mentioned that I could go to a store to get my refund. I said ok, do I have to go to the store where my return was sent? He had told me yes, that I need to go to the store where they the refund item was sent to and then he couldn't tell me or wouldn't tell me what store that was. All of this is borderline criminal and so I am hoping for a resolution ASAP as I have time for this to go everywhere. read more

I really wanted to write 1 star for this review, but in the end our issue was resolved so I at least upgraded to 2 stars. I bought a table saw that ended up missing a bolt out of its hardware. I tried calling customer service about 8 times over the span of 25 minutes and no one ever answered. The phone would end up hanging up. I simply wanted to know if I needed to repackage the table saw just to get the one bolt that was needed. My husband and I even called a separate Lowe's location and received no answer as well. When I arrived at this store and approached customer service, I noticed the phone by the associate was continuously ringing while I described the situation to the guy. Even after he had us wait for an associate from hardware to assist, the phone was still ringing and he never answered the phone, whether he was "helping" someone or not. 2 other associates arrived to the customer service desk and neither of them answered the phone either. This completely defeated the purpose of customer service. Again, the only reason that they are not getting a 1 star is because the situation was resolved in the end. First, I'd like to say that Sarah who works in the appliance department was awesome! She personally deserves a five star. But, let's get to the meet of the problem. Your website says you have the item, I go there ask they check, they don't have it, really? But Sarah checks with two other local stores to see him inventory that might be convenient for me to drive to. She also said that I could order it but it would be March 7 before I would receive it. That's a couple of weeks so that's no good. Waiting on the phone for the people in Santee to check their stock. They finally get on the phone and say shows we have it but we don't. OK, call Otay Lakes store after 15 minutes the girl gets on the phone and they have it. They asked for my name and said to come to the appliance desk for it when I arrive. I drive down there takes 30 minutes to get there and I go to the appliance desk where I have to wait because there's only two people working there ones on the phone. The other is helping other clients,. Then when they ask, do I need help? I tell them that just called from the Mission Valley store And that they were supposedly holding the microwave there for me. Immediately, I was told no that I would have to go to the customer service department back at the front of the store. More time wasted. I wait in line there to get assistance, they look, they don't have it up there And the girl says let me go back to the appliance department. I'll bet you can imagine what she comes back with. That's right, she comes up, pushing a cart with the microwave on it! Now I give that a basic average level of service, but to spend almost 2 hours of my day to purchase a microwave through modern in inventory and phones and personnel you need to get your system fixed. Delivery driver told me not to worry about opening boxes of appliances. That he delivers to flippers all the time who don't open boxes for a month or two. Then if there's a problem they'll come back and pick them up. No problem. Except that's not true. He lied. Why? Don't know. Maybe thought I wanted him to open boxes? Maybe they give better/different service to flippers? Just wanted the policy. He either lied to me or doesn't know the policy of the store he delivers for. I've been hung up on, they've been rude. I've passed through here throughout the years. It appears the items here are slightly priced higher than Home Depot. The last stop I made here with my mom we needed a specific paint for a home project. The staff who attempted to help us at first made an effort to find the staff who covered the paint area. That staff looked real quick for the paint we needed and said they didn't have it. I purchased a door in this store in May for cash and after leaving the store my purse was stolen from my car while I was putting my food in back of SUV. I am handicapped and use a walker so could not see them steal the purse from the rear of car. I didnt miss my purse until I got in the vehicle to go home. I had a spare key so sis return home. I went back to store after I found that the door they sold me wasn't the right sone or size I asked for so tried to return it but Had no ID...the man asked me if I remembered my drivers license and I said yes because I got it when I was 16 and its the same and I was 80 years so he asked for the number so I agreed and left the store. I was lied to several times when I called and twice the person said they had mailed a card for use in the store however I never received anything. So I filed a complaint with YELP at least.There is a happy ending to this and there are good people working on returns who believe in CUSTOMER SERVICE and her name is ISABEL. She is a wonderful person and listens and checks out everything I told her and after I called when I got my purse back from Walmart (who had it there for more than a month and never called me that it had been found in the parking lot . This store is terrible. It is a self checkout only store no matter how many customers are in line and you cannot purchase plastic or paper bags for small items. When you ask to get something behind a locked cabinet or need propane, be prepared to wait at least 30 - 45 minutes if you can find anyone who is actually willing to help and most of the time if you ask you will get an attitude from the employees. Overall this store does offer more insulation Foam options and insulation tape that's extra durable. I found the location to be easy to access and fully stocked for the items I seek. I give it 4 stars because I couldn't find no staff on the floors to assist with bringing down the insulation Foam from the high racks. I eventually got creative and got it down myself and had to cut the boards outside myself so they could fit in my vehicle. I found it inconvenient that there was no extended carts no where to be found and the store looked empty. I had to carry the insulation boards myself with the risk of knocking some items over or a customer. The check out lady was very friendly but didn't offer any assistance. I give it 4 stars because I found everything I needed after searching other warehouse locations. read more

Regarding Service of a Whirlpool Washer... At noon on Saturday August 10th, our Whirlpool washer made a loud noise and stopped working. After a basic inspection, I found my receipt with the warranty plan. On the Lowe's website, I created a service request. I was surprised to receive a confirmation for service on the following Monday the 12th. It seemed to good to be true, so I called the service provider YOTA appliance and sure enough no one was coming Monday. In fact, Mary did not find I had a work order. At that point a work request was created and the technician came on Wednesday the 14th. I was expecting a typical service vehicle, instead of two young me arrived in a black Tesla. Carrying a small bag, I asked if he had parts with him for repair. He said he had some. They came inside to troubleshoot the washer and determined it needed a washer drain pump. Daniel the technician did not have one. And it had to be special ordered. I asked Daniel for the part number. I excused Daniel and I proceeded to remove the 30 gallons in the washer tub which filled during troubleshooting. On Monday August 19th I received a text message that the part had been ordered and expected to arrive August 26th. On Tuesday August 27th, fifteen days later after the washer stopped working, Daniel arrived this time to actually repair the washer. Of course I would have been extremely upset and gone to Lowe's in person to raise Cain but, I didn't. Because on the 14th I acquired the pet number from Daniel and ordered it from Amazon for a total of $44.01 and received it Thursday the 15th. I watched some YouTube videos, repaired the washer myself and spared Lowe's of my wrath. In conclusion, buying a warranty repair can be a good investment. But, waiting 2+ weeks for actual repair is not. I expect Lowe's will not care enough to offer an apology much less revisit their partnership with 3rd part YOTA Appliance repair but, they should. read more

This Lowe's is nice, and the employees are always helpful. In particular on Sunday 1/28 around noon , Joe in the garden department helped me find the right weed killer for a persistent yucca. He approached offering help and even went to the back to get a better item for my needs. Joe, you saved the day and my front yard is looking better than ever. Our HOA is happy again, lol. WARNING!!! I learned the hard way that Lowe's will not accept a return of any appliances ( including range hoods) after 48 hours!!! There is nothing on the receipt that states that and I was told that I should have been informed when I paid for appliances. How do you prove you weren't informed??? Please for anyone who plans to order any appliances such as that of a washing machine, save your time and money. They don't let the customer know that they only deliver and do half the work of installation. We ordered a washer to be delivered and installed. Upon delivery their excuse as to why the installation couldn't happen includes that of them not knowing how to install the drain pan (which we had to buy before they could install) and pipe of the washer (per their legal words it's a liability). Like dummies we do what they say get a new pan and still they can't install. They rely on the home owners to have everything set up for them, making their job only consist of dropping off. This is not a true installation. It is a scam and a huge waste of money and energy. I recommend for major appliances to go through NEX or Home Depot. read more

There is this guy Vince who works there. A few days ago he was working the garden section, dude was the most friendly and helpful guy I've met at a construction department store in 30 years. Dude not only dropped everything to help us find our topsoil but he helped us load up our flat, was knowledgeable about all we needed, he suggested we get some of the mulch on sale since it was a good deal and we ended up buying ten bags. He had max flair on the employee jacket, was so friendly and fun. My dad as with me and he said he remembers that dude being the nicest dude every time he goes. My dad doesn't know how to use Yelp so count this as a double recommendation for Vince. When I asked some other dude where the flat carts were he said like "over by lumber" but Vince was the man! Ask for a manager, Cynthia in customer service her team and herself will do the bare minimum to make you feel better after keeping you on hold for hours only to send you to people that don't exist. You're better off talking to an automated robot as the robot actually wants to help you. One star goes to a manager for installations who at least made an effort to help in the end. Sorry Cynthia took away your other 4 stars, as customer service ended up wasting the time I needed to get an earlier install in the end, when it was their fault in the first place! Over three years ago, my wife and I had a bad experience with the customer service at Eastlake Lowe's. I swore that I would never shop there again. Unfortunately, there was some laminate flooring that my wife wanted and apparently, Lowe's had it. We went to Eastlake Lowe's and they did not have enough and said go to Poway. I asked why can't we just order it here and ley Lowe's figure it out my entire order. They said we do not do that. I ordered online using Poway as the main store and then I receive a cryptic voice that we only have 60, not 80 but you can come here and pick it up! What? I ordered 80 and it was for delivery! I called Poway and they said the order went to Eastlake Lowe's! I explained the voice mail and they said I had to talk to Eastlake Lowe's. See how confusing this is!!! I called Lowe's Corporate and Customer Service on the 10th of FEB and seems to have all the answers. They said all 80 will be provided and it will be delivered this Friday, 11 FEB 2022! I was elated but that was short-lived! I was now told, the delivery will be next FRIDAY, 18 FEB 2022! I called today to try to get some sense of what was happening. Lain could only tell be the current status! As a result of all this confusion, I had to cancel and reschedule all my contractors! I am a Lean Six-Sigma Process Improvement Consultant and this is a textbook example of poor customer service and is a candidate for liquidation. I am afraid that after all these years, improvement is beyond Lowe's reach and will continue to lose customers and money!
