Ordered a pool cover and chose to pick up in store. Leslie's emailed me a few days later and cancelled order with no reason. I went to the store, the discourteous attendant said they don't have the size I ordered even though it's in their inventory. I asked if they can get it from another store. With attitude, she called two stores, the second one had it in stock. She said she will call me once transfer is set. I got a call an hour later; voicemail said she ordered it and will call in about a week. After 10 days, I called the store attendant said he would look into it and call me back. He called back and I was told no order was placed. I was told they could order it and it would take a week but suggested I get it online. I asked for the manager to call me. While waiting, I ordered it online with one day delivery with no shipping fees. Manger called and said she is having someone drive it over from another store. I'm sorry, but that is the first response I should have received when the store realized their employee didn't do their job. Terrible customer service. I will not be returning, which is a bummer because I always prefer brick and mortar over internet shopping and I like supporting a local store. read more

It's happened about three times now that the hours are wrong on google (like today, closed at 5, Not six like it said online). Not only that but we arrived three minutes before FIVE and they refused to open the door. They do this at closing regularly- close up before it's actually time to. Didn't get to go in so, no good service. Gave it two stars for the times I have gone in and have been helped. They get the job done for the most part. Pool servicing is beyond horrible. Have had multiple attempts. Service has never showed up. They give you a 4 hour window but never make it. I cant sit and wait all day for them to show up. They provide a live tracking app, but the tech is always sitting somewhere where there isnt even a pool on the map. Support a local business that cares about taking care of customers. read more

Lady answered the phone then said that there were too many customers in the store and I would have to wait. No one ever came back to the phone, after an exceptionally long wait. I hung up. First timer at a pool store so I was a little bit intimidated. Right when I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly employee. Immediately asked me if I needed help. Been doing my research since I got a spa, but I missed a few things along the way. The employee knew exactly what I needed for my problem. Luckily, I already knew what was needed, but that reassured me that they weren't trying to upsell me anything. They have a wide range of pool, spa items even cool toys like blow ups and pool noodles. Been a loyal customer for 19 years. Bought new pool sweep which didn't work. Brought it back TWENTY FIVE DAYS after purchase - with receipt. They wouldn't allow me to return or EVEN exchange because I didn't have ALL of original packaging. Save yourself the hassle and buy online through different company. I believe we came when the not so friendly employees were working because the customer service was subpar. I agree with another reviewer that at least these 2 specific employees today do not know how l or simply don't care to multitask and truly help. I went in with my 3 kiddos after calling and being told they do water testing there. I had the 2 youngest contained in a stroller and it quickly became evident that these employees were not fans of kids or maybe just people with kids. I had literally just walked in and the woman at the register seemed instantly annoyed that I was in there to. I brushed it off and continued to ask for my pool water to be tested. She immediately said that it was done at the other counter with a hint of annoyance and went back to her conversation. As if I worked there and should somehow know this counter was only for purchases. After all the employees were both just standing at the counter I approached chit chatting while 2 Other customers were in the store. Anyway when I went to the register my son dropped his train and briefly got upset. Almost immediately the guy got annoyed and told me their water testing system was down. Yet somehow didn't bother to tell me as soon as I asked at the first counter before I wiggled and navigated with my stroller through the compact spaces (not the issue at hand but the runaround could have been avoided). Naturally I was irritated because they were being so rude without blatantly being rude so I told him that I literally just called to ask about the testing before heading over. His reply was a blatant eye roll followed by "it must've just happened." No apology for the inconvenience or explanation that this sometimes happens or even trying to reboot the system. He just stood there. I said ok and started to grab my water to leave and he said "you can fill out the paper so your information is in the system for when you return." I told him I wasn't coming back and signaled to my 3 kiddos, that is exactly why I called ahead." Anyway the 2 stars are because he did Offer to keep my water and test it then call me later. I of course declined because that would again require me to return with my kids and we were clearly not welcomed there because of their presence to begin with. So I would rather spend my money where my business is welcomed, even if it cost more. If management reads this, I know it's tough to find people who want to work post pandemic, but there definitely has to be better out there than these 2. I'm not saying people have to like you or kids even, but at least fake it till you make it or Just do your job. If you can't then don't work a customer service job. read more

I don't know why anyone would give this business anything lower than a 5 star rating. It's a store of odd products that not many ppl are looking to buy, yet they are able to stay open for us few that do. They saved my hot tub. I tried doing it myself bcuz I only have a hot tub and live as south as I could in SD so no pool maintenance company wanted to help me out. I spend a few hundred dollars on amazon and still could not make the hot tub safe for use. It spoiled on me. I finally realized I had previously seen this odd store once and gave them a try. John, best customer service I've ever had, gave me a step by step solution on paper and patiently explained each step to me. I bought a solar cover for my swimming pool but I had problems with it. I went back and brought it up to the manager, in which he was able to replace since it was under warranty. He was very nice about it which made the whole process smooth and easy. The new one is 10x better. The staff at Leslies are very knowledgeable and helpful. Adriana and the manager John are great. I'm a regular at Leslie's and always super pleased with the customer service at the Chula Vista location, I went in friday and seen some new faces so I asked for Andrea and they told me Andrea is the new General manager WOOOW I WAS SO PLEASED to hear this. It's been one year since I've moved into my house and I was determined to learn how to maintain my own pool without having to call a pool guy. I have been successful in doing so and I owe a lot of it to Leslie's Pool staff. I have purchased all my pool maintenance items from Leslie. They have it all. From chlorine, shock, clarifier, muriatic acid, nets, gaskets, poles, solar covers, solar reels, toys and D.E., I've purchased all of it from Leslie's. The best part, they're right down the street from my house. They have a rewards program so if you spend a certain amount, you get a $5 reward towards a future purchase. They also test your pool water however often you want. I try to bring my water in for tests 2-3 times a month. I purchased a large 35lb of Leslie's 3" chlorine tablets that are not chlorinating my pool. The previous different brand was terrific. After speaking with John this AM he stated there is something wrong with the pool water. Every test checks out good. Ph level is good. He refused to assist only to say hire someone to check the pool. I can only say that he was awful!!!! Don't recommend his assistance because it will be your fault. read more

This was just a place we were going to pick up things for our Hot Tub however when we got in there we found so much more. My boys who are 10 and 11 were shopping like they enjoyed it which they hate by the way. So to see them shopping in excitement over their pool accessories was a great surprise. Also the prices were less than I would have paid anywhere else for the things that they got including fog resistant goggles. The customer service was great too. read more

I've been coming here since 1995. I went into the store and John made a service appointment for me with Leslie's service department on July 15. On July 22, the repairman determined that the seal was leaking and I'd need a new impeller. He'd order the parts. Repairman came out on July 31 to do the repairs. Unfortunately, he fried the Hayward motor. I appreciated his honesty. A new Hayward motor would be ordered. Motor finally came in August 30 and was told service would contact me. After waiting a day or 2 to hear from service, I called and set up a repair date for Sept 11 as the earliest available date was Sept. 10 & I had other plans for that day. Repairman came Sept 10 ( wrong day) without a call ahead of coming ( I was told they would call 1/2 hour before arriving). Fortunately wife was home. I emailed Leslie's service and expressed my displeasure with having no pool for 2 hot summer months and asked why it took so long to get a Hayward motor. I got no response. Can't wait 2 months for repairs especially in the summer. read more

Nice people, but I wish they would get their act together. It takes so long to get an evaluation (on multiple occasions), then repair takes even longer. Too many things gone wrong and cover-up when wrong item was ordered. Mgmt needs to keep it professional and not have a scheduling dispute with employee in front of the customers. read more

Left a pump with them on Saturday. They were to estimate a repair or replace that day but haven't called back as of Thursday. I called, no answer, no machine. Went there at 9:30 as hours are from 9:00. No one there. Waited until 10:00. Called the corporate office who would call the district manager and call me back. No return call. My pump is hostage in a closed shop. These people have more than 3 strikes against them. read more

Called again at 9:45am and young man told me that they don't carry any inground swimming pool light assemblies. If there are any other customers in the store ahead of you, just walk out and come back later, you'll be waiting 30 plus minutes just to get rung up.
