I'll start with the good and reason I had to give them two stars. They do have a variety of items (although no Milwaukee is a big negative). I swore I would never go a couple of years ago after some very rude customer service. I've found myself back a couple times out of convenience. I was reminded again today that is a mistake. Any smaller store that was as unhelpful, then arrogant when they do have to help as the Columbia Lowe's, would be out of business. Home Deopt isn't far enough away for me to ever justify going to Lowe's again. And their employees are always happy to help when asked. read more

My family and I have always been avid lowes shoppers but after today I will never shop there again. I ordered a freezer for pickup and after receiving an email that it was ready my husband went to get it. He checked in online and let them know what spot he was in. He ended up waiting an HOUR and 45 minutes for them to bring it out. He went inside and tried to call them several times and said there were employees just standing around but said they didn't know how to help him. I eventually called and spoke to a very nice gentleman who had just arrived on shift and got the freezer out to him asap. An almost 2 hour wait for pickup is completely unreasonable. The item was ready for pickup so that was not a factor. Another reason we will no longer be a lowes family is their military discount changes. My husband is an army veteran and spends a considerable amount of money at lowes. Recently we learned that the military discount has changed to exclude lumber, electrical and appliances. The employee who told us this used the words "it was too expensive" for the company. My husbands life is pretty expensive too. I would rather shop at Home Depot or menards without a discount than shop at lowes again. read more

Here's the deal. My wife and I went to Lowe's to get a new washer because ours quit on us. We paid for it on On 8/10/2021 and paid for installation. On 8/11/2021 it was supposed to be delivered and set up at my house. Never showed up. So we called and found out that the delivery got canceled because at the time of delivery, our washer was nowhere to be found. They did not have the guts, nor the intestinal fortitude to call us to tell us delivery was cancelled because at the time, they could not find it. The only reason we found out it was cancelled was when we called wondering where the washing machine was. As we were talking on the phone, it was discovered that they did actually have it. So, fast forward to yesterday (8/12/2021, it shows up. Well, another problem arises. I bought the hookup lines at initial time of purchase with the machine, and I was told that I could either take them home, or they will send it with the shipment to my house. I told them to send them with the washing machine. Okay, the washing machine got here, so no hookups came with it (yeah, the ones I paid for). So this meant that I was just going to buy another set of hookups, so I could just finish the job myself. Now I got the washer and dryer hooked up now no thanks to the incompetent staff at Lowe's on Conley Rd. It seems giving the customer service my wife and I received one star seems generous at this point. Either way, if you buy something and sign up to have it delivered and set up as I did, buyer beware! Lowe's in Columbia, MO has to take the prize for the WORST store in the history of the company. I have tried for weeks to speak with someone regarding installing a walk-in shower & NO ONE is ever in the department. I have been transferred by phone time after time to every department in the store, cannot even reach "Eli", who is supposed to be a manager. What a joke. I ordered a washer and dryer and had a scheduled delivery date of 3/16/21. For whatever reason, they dropped my scheduled delivery. I called that evening to check on the status and was told that my delivery date was rescheduled for the next day (3/17/21). My order did not arrive the next day. I called again in the morning on 3/19/21 and was told I would have to reschedule again. There was absolutely no effort to rectify the situation or to prioritize my overdue shipment. Canceled my order and will never do business with this Lowe's again. Good riddance. read more

Finding an associate on the floor is like looking for a golf ball in tall grass. I can find a cashier easily but they don't seem to know the layout of the store or the items sold by each department. Then when you call the store needing assistance with an online order they conveniently put you on hold for several minutes, and calling their 800 number has about the same waiting period. When ordering online they automatically ship the larger products to the store and then you have to find a way to get it to your home. Or you have to schedule a delivery which is another fee and their timeline for deliveries is about 2 weeks out. Why you can't order the product and then have it shipped directly to your house is beyond me. I'm beyond frustrated with Lowe's and it's probably why ordering on Amazon is a lot more convenient. read more

Poor customer service. We needed help in the flooring department and waited 30 minutes with the overhead calling out "assistance needed in the flooring dept." No one came. Walked up to the front and workers were just shitting around doing nothing and when asked they told us, "oh yea, we don't have anyone for flooring." My questions was why couldn't one person come and inform us and make it right? It's just not right to neglect customers like that. At least ONE person should acknowledge you. I had a bad experience. I hope it is isolated to this location but it might be Lowe's policy. I was medically retired from the Military and have used the military discount in the past. You show your ID, they enter the discount and you move on with your day. I tried that yesterday and was told I would need to go to customer service to register for their military program. It would take 15 minutes. I said I don't want to register for any services. I just want to buy my purchase and be on my way. The clerk proceeded to tell me that if I register I can combine my account with a Lowe's card. I said I don't want to register for an account or a card. She said it can be tied with any card but it is great because that way Lowe's can track my purchases. I said I don't want to be tracked. She said it is for my convenience. I said nothing about this seems to be convenient. I asked is I could just show my ID and receive the discount without having to go through such a process. She said no. I asked why so many hoops to jump through. She said t wasn't that bad and it is what will be needed if I want the discount. I said I could drive to Home Depot and receive the exact same discount without a fraction of the hassle. She looked completely surprised and I left with the discount. Most Military retirees and veterans don't like the idea of being forced to register for a program and be tracked. Good luck with that. I went through the process to register and I will agree t is simple. I also think it is the most pathetic method of trying to trick people into creating an account in my life. There is no validation of proving military service. You create an account and then you input branch of service, date of separation and current military status. There is no reason why this is a more preferred method of validation over being shown a government issued retiree ID card except for the fact that forcing everyone to have an account allows Lowe's to track them and spam them with emails. read more

This has to be the worse Lowe's in MO... Getting ready for a diy project over the holiday weekend, went to Lowe's to get 6 cuts on a piece of 4x8 plywood and was told they "don't do project cuts, only a couple cuts are acceptable" So I left my cart in the isle and called Jeff city to ask the same help. They were more than happy to accommodate me... Just had to drive 45 min down the road. . Way to go Jeff city! Only thing keeping up the Lowe's name! If it was up to Columbia standards then I'm sure the company would be having a going out of business sale real soon! read more

From the moment we purchased a freezer throughout the miss pricing and delayed delivery and damaged product upon delivery plus trying to get a new one redelivered and waiting an hour for someone to answer the phone well, you get the picture. read more

This is a store you want to stay away from! They have the absolute WORSE customer service in all the Lowe's chain. I have been shopping exclusively at Lowe's for over 10 years and this store is rapidly pushing me towards Home Depot. The whole management chain at this store lacks any knowledge of customer service and clearly believes that anything that can be done for a customer today would be better if it was pushed out for 2 or 3 weeks, why rush it's only for a customer and if the customer does not like it, let them go elsewhere. I put in a large order I needed delivered, the 'delivery manager' called me told me, even though everything was in stock, it would be 3 (THREE) weeks for them to deliver, because they were "really" busy, but if I needed it sooner I could pick it up myself. Really? If I could pick it up myself I would not have ordered it delivered. Morons. A call to Customer Care and it was delivered the next day. Through Lowes.com, I scheduled a fencing consultant to come out for an estimate, I had a CONFIRMED appointment. Day of the appointment Lowe's calls and says he is overbooked and he can not make it out until next week. I guess a CONFIRMED appointment means nothing to Lowe's. Talked to both the store's general manager Rob and the area's district ("marketing") manager Ben. Both took the attitude that yes it was Lowe's fault, but screw you mr. customer, we do not care and you will just have to live with it. Really to bad for Lowe's, I had a $3000 order sitting in my shopping cart that is now going to go to Home Depot or Menard's. Purchased a refrigerator on Saturday. Delivery was scheduled for the following Friday. Up early and moved old fridge out. 1:30 and no word from lowes(I did not capitalize because they don't deserve the respect) I call and after about 10 rings get connected to customer service. I ask if we are on the list for delivery. Why yes, yes you are but, it might be as late as 8 pm. Ok so I guess we wait. 3pm,4pm,5pm you get the picture. Around 6:30 my wife calls lowes. First attempt there is no answer. She hangs up and tries again, SUCCESS!! Someone answered the damned phone at a place of business, WOW!! Well they are probably running late because they start farthest away from the store then work their way back. Yeah, heard that at 1:30, old news. It is now 9:30 in the PM and no refrigerator and not a single call from lowes to explain why or ask to reschedule. No sorry for the inconvenience. In fact not a single call from lowes at all. You know that might require some effort at customer service and we wouldn't want to do that. So I have lost wages from work. Supposed to be off anyway but, could of gone in and made a few bucks in overtime. No, no I said we have a fridge coming tomorrow. Shoved the old fridge back in and filled it back up. The thing looks like hell but, after 30 years, is still running. Had I of purchased it at Columbia lowes I would still be waiting on delivery. Beware of shopping here. read more

Last July I built a new deck on my home. It was, I say, WAS beautiful until I made the mistake of putting Lowes paint on my deck. I wanted the good stuff. So I asked the paint department at Lowes and was told to buy the deck paint called Rescue It. This paint is suppose to be very durable. I stated noticing this past winter that a few small places looked like the paint was coming off. As the winter months moved on, more and more paint was pealing. Now it's horrible. Lowes has ruined my deck! I called the Lowes store. They store manager called me and said not to worry. They would send one of their guys out to see it. The guy showed up, was very nice, took pictures and pictures of the paint bucket I still had. He said "yep, it's our paint". The store manager told me they would have an insurance adjuster come out and look at it and just write me a check to fix or replace the deck. The adjuster never showed up. Today I received a phone call from the legal department at Lowes corporate department. Accused me of being lying about the paint. She said I have to prove I bought it at their store. And was rude, insulting and nasty. She emailed me a map showing where this same paint could have been purchased at two other stores that are 3 times as far from my home than where the Lowes is at. That's crazy! Why would I drive to another city 3 times as far for PAINT? I have had to hire an attorney now to make them take care of their responsibility and make them uphold their promises. I have also reported them to the BBB........ Stay away from Lowes as much as possible. Luckily, Menards and Home Depot is right around the corner. This is usually my go to home improvement store in the area. But this weekend we stopped by to pick out carpet and the wait was incredible. It seemed like the two employees at the desk were more interested in talking about personal matters than helping customers. Normal Lowes. They have anything and everything you want. The store is a little older. The workers here are very nice. They love to help and know exactly where everything is in the store. Even though the building is older doesn't mean it's dirty. The workers do a good job of keeping this place nice and clean. This isn't the number one hardware store in Columbia but it is one of the best. Overall good hardware store. read more

I was not aware of the Dog Friendly policy until a visit to your Columbia store on 1/26/2020. There were numerous dogs present and a fight between two dogs had the whole place reverberating with dog howls. I thought we where in a kennel. I had to walk around aisles with dog people talking and blocking the paths. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars at Lowe's over the years and are in a remodel project now. Sorry hope this policy works for you. There are limits to where dogs should be allowed. We will shop elsewhere. PS We have been dog and cat owners in the past so we are not anti-pet. Just want owners to be responsible in where they take them. read more

Worst delivery service. I was given a time frame from 10:30-12:30 for delivery. I sat at a house that I was doing work on for for 3 hours waiting. At 1:30 I finally call the store and they said my delivery was returned to the store because the driver, Brandon, said no one was home. Nobody came to the house or tried to call me. Their drivers are lazy worthless liars and the delivery coordinator backs their incompetence. read more

Of course, my dishwasher died at the worst possible time. I researched online and discovered our local Lowe's had the brand and model I wanted. They are very short handed, but we were patient. A manager finally showed up to take our order. He said our dishwasher would arrive on March 2 but was uncomfortable arranging for delivery and installation until March 4th. We agreed. We figured we could do without a dishwasher for a week no problem. Once the order was completed and paid for, the manager said the installer would contact us for a delivery time. We assumed that date would be the date he told us--March 4th. When the installer called us, we were told the earliest they could install was March 15th!! This is clearly an issue. My spouse had to cancel a week full of meetings with his customers so he could be here. We had absolutely no recourse because Lowe's only works with one contracted installer. So not happy!!!! We probably won't be purchasing any appliances from Lowe's in the future. The way they do business, and the clarity of their sales is completely fubar. read more

WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!! I waited in line forever to do an exchange. When it was finally my turn the cashier Vicki didn't listen to what I said and instead of doing an exchange she did a return putting the money back on my card when I specifically said I wanted to do an exchange since the items were equal in cost and I was using a different card. She assumed I was trying to return all of the items I had and said "they aren't all on the receipt" two seconds after I explained that I wanted to EXCHANGE one item for the other. She went ahead and RETURNED one item then charged me for the other two. It took over ten minutes. She kept stopping the transaction to answer the phone. She took at least four calls the entire transaction. She didn't seem to care about what I was asking for. She held the receipt in her hand and talked for at least two minutes to someone else on the phone instead of just handing me the receipt and ending the transaction to let me go. I felt disrespected and ignored. And spent over ten mins total waiting from the time I got in line (she took forever with the person before me too) to the time I was given my bag. Not Ok. The other two customer service people that were there working helped multiple people in the time I stood waiting on Vicki. read more

I was excited by a good price for a dishwasher. The price on the sticker was $399 on sale and mentioned two options (black and stainless steel) but did not say anything about a difference in price. I assumed they were the same, because the sign did not mention any extra charge. They printed out a contract, but I had forgotten to mention that I wanted stainless steel. When I did, the new price was over $100 extra. Avoid buying at Lowe's if you can. They are great at bait and switch. I walked out completely disgusted. read more

Their prices are pretty good, but they must have medical doctors doing the scheduling, because a promise to deliver between 8 and 10 AM has a way of turning into 4:45 and eating up the entire day waiting for 'Godot appliances'.
