I've been to many Lowe's locations over the years so this is yet another one. On this visit my task was to exchange wrong size lights with right size lights with no additional needed information. So after my psychic powers failed at finding what I was instructed to find I eventually found a staff person to confirm that what I was searching for literally didn't exist but there was a possible substitute which I acquired. On checkout I paid with cash for the first time ever in a Lowe's and for some reason I got no receipt as part of that process? Overall this was a VERY different experience than my past Lowe's experience in many other places as I had no good data on what I was expected to find and then a very odd checkout time with no receipt. Awful management. Everyone was wonderful throughout our shopping experience and checking out. What really was awful was after we purchased over $500 worth of landscaping timbers, mulch, and flowers we had to maneuver each 8' timber through a small crack in the gate because no one would open it for us. We do not mind loading our own things after purchasing, but it's a real pain in the ass waiting 20 minutes and then they won't even open a nearby gate or offer to lend a helping hand on top of that. I will say that the nice young lady that checked us out had call over the intercom multiple times to try and help us. Very piss poor experience here, but I guess it's just the norm now it seems. I enjoy going to Lowes because of the wide selection of items. As usual I picked up a few things I didn't plan on buying this trip. Well after having to track down an associate to find my primary purchase, who was very helpful and customer service focused. I proceeded to checkout. Now don't get too upset but I am old fashioned and will not self check out. I am not an employee and no discount is offered for self check out. After several moments standing at the self checkout counter an associate standing three feet away finished gossiping and asked if I needed help. I replied that I did not work here and do not self check out. I had already placed two hundred dollars on the counter. She proceed to place the money in a slot and put my items in a bag while mumbling about how simple it was. This associate then left stating that she was going on brake. I then stood there patiently waiting. Ater a few more minutes another associate asked if I needed help, I stated that I was waiting on my change and explained that I was attempting to save someone's job. She stated that she was not worried about her job and grabbed my change placing it on the counter and started to walk off when I asked where was my receipt.... I always try to buy local and support home town businesses, however all items purchased could have been obtained from other sources on the internet and at a cheaper price which I will do from now on. I know this is only one customer but this customer is a lost one and will obtain my products from elsewhere. I'm glad their employees are not worried about their jobs and wish them well. read more

I went in to get 80' of schedule 40 1.5" pvc pipe and two toilets. They put the pipe on an aisle that you can't get a cart out of if you tried. They have the small stuff on the door aisle. I couldn't even get my purchase to a register with all the trash they have in the aisles. We went to Lowe's Hattiesburg during early Black Friday sale. I saw 3 dryers for sale in stock, called to confirm that one was availabl to purchase and drove to get it. When I arrived the website was still showing one available the young lady in appliances was not helpful nor enthusiastic about helping me locate the remaining dryer. She would not look in the back or help me search for the dryer I wanted. I was about to leave but the nicest man named Ray came to ask if I needed help looked in the back storage area and walked the floor to see if availabl. When it was obvious it was not available he looked at the computer saw one in Petal and called that store and had it held under my nam. Purchased a deep freezer at Lowes Hattiesburg MS. Went back several days later. The same freezer was 100 dollars cheeper. I asked the Assistant manger Drake to price match and I would by another Freezer from him. He would not even consider it. Went to Home Depot down the road from Lowes in Hattiesburg. I really want to give a better rating because people like Todd and the gentleman with the pony tail in the outdoor section (don't recall his name) obviously care about the customer and their store. However, just too many others don't. Stood next to a register and four employees walking side by side parted like the Red Sea and didn't ask if I needed any help, which I clearly did. I wish I could rate this store with no stars no stars or something similar. This is absolutely the WORST Lowe's store I have ever been in. My sister and I needed to purchase a new refrigerator. We called the store that morning to inquire about methods of payment that were acceptable and we were told that checks were fine. We showed up at the store and as we were completing the transaction, the sales person mentioned that checks were fine but it might be "rejected." She told us we could try. Because we had driven close to an hour to go to the store, we decided to give it a try. The check was rejected (I KNOW there was enough money in our account to cover the check as I had made the needed deposit the day before). We had to drive all the way home (again, close to an hour) to get the necessary money to pay for the appliance. We drove all the way back, and did purchase the refrigerator. We made arrangements for the item to be delivered and installed and were told it would be Tuesday, March 5th (our store receipt even says March 5th on it). Now we are being told that we had been put on the list for delivery/installation on March 12th instead. DO NOT go to this store if you don't need to-too many problems to mention. Bought 2 sets of 12 fluorescent T38 bulbs and other bulbs spending $150. One bulb in box is not working, rush back to exchange @8:51PM and saw employee locking the door (decal states store closes at 9:00PM). Rude guy says to come back tomorrow cause no one can do exchange. Asked if I could just buy another one (since cashier and self check out still open) so I can install the light and return the broken one tomorrow. Employee argue that all registers are closed (obviously saw couple people still using self check out). Worst customer service. Will never go back. We bought a refrigerator from Lowes and are having difficulty with the water filter replacements. We have a warranty -- so called. We couldn't schedule a repair person until 4 WEEKS after we called. I am sitting here today - 4 weeks later - and the repair person is not here. They NEVER called and I am thinking might never come. DO NOT PURCHASE PRODUCTS FROM LOWES. IF YOU DO -- DO NOT -- I REPEAT -- DO NOT purchase additional warranty coverage. It's a pain in the ass and you will be on hold FOREVER!!!! I had to call and talk to someone in the appliance department and I was fortunate enough to speak with someone knowledgeable and strait forward. I got the information I needed and though it took some time to make sure every question was answered, the associate I spoke with made sure I had the time and patience to see it through! I came in to return a part for my grille, at the return counter Carla (who checked me out) was extremely rude from the beginning. She socialized with co workers and had no interest in speaking to me. I then politely asked to receive the return back on my card, she "accidentally" gave me cash back. Not to mention $5 in quarters. I then went to look at rugs for my living room, purchased one when I got home there were SEVERAL razor cuts and HOLES in the rug. I then took it back again and Carla was there, I asked to return the rug unless discounted. She said she'd have to call management. She called Miranda (store manager) and told her there were only cuts. I interuppted "there's holes in the rug as well". She told me they could discount it 10%. Came in to purchase a washer, dryer and fridge all in one day. and the guy working in appliances was very new he let me know it was only his 4th day and that he was going to go get someone to help. 10 minutes pass by and no one is there, and then when the guy does arrive he does not help the new guy he stood around and talked to another coworker. So me and the new guy are just walking around everywhere, when we get to the register the two ladies were very rude to him and I, they questioned me on my dryer being gas or electric, and then looked at me like I didn't know what I was doing, I felt very humiliated, and unhelped, I walked right out from there and did not purchase anything. They are great from opening until about 5:00, but after 5:00 there are no people in the different departments to help you. The service level dropped about 3 months ago. If you need help after 5:00 head to Home Depot, I guess. (Probably management laying off people decision. Go somewhere they have enough people to help you.) I had a communication fiasco there. Nobody did a damn thing no matter how much I tried to follow up. In the end everything fell through. I tried to schedule carpet installation with Hattiesburg Lowes. They didn't bother telling me they didn't have the carpet I picked till it was to late. I picked another. They told me they'd have it Monday then it was Thursday. Make up your mind!! I planned to have this done during my vacation. It would have been easy. I gave them a 5 day installation window. Started planning with them a month in advance of that 5 day window. They f***ed up my vacation. Apparently I can't plan anything with this lowe's.
