I have shopped at Lowes for years. Their garden center is my go-to place for beautifying my yard with healthy shrubs, trees, and flowers. They treat me kindly, and have even gone out of their way to let me know they appreciate me as a customer. I have also purchased area rugs, window coverings, and tools from this store, and three large electric fireplaces. It is a joy to shop at this store. read more

In March 2025, we purchased a Samsung refrigerator from the Lowe's in Hollister, MO. In November 2025--still well within the warranty period--the refrigerator stopped working. We soon discovered that there were no authorized Samsung repair technicians in our area, making it impossible to get the appliance serviced under warranty. I contacted the Lowe's appliance manager, Mitch, multiple times. During our first conversation, he appeared willing to assist. However, after that initial call, I received no follow-up whatsoever despite leaving several messages requesting a callback. To this day, we have not received a refund, a replacement, a service visit, or even a courtesy check‑in from Lowe's. Samsung has also been awful to deal with throughout this process. We will never purchase a Samsung refrigerator again. A company should not be selling products in major retailers if they cannot properly support or service them. If I could give a half‑star rating, I would. TERRIBLE customer service from both Lowe's and Samsung. read more

I am belated in giving this review. For that, I apologize. The employees at Lowes who helped me through a disastrous situation deserved immediate thanks and recognition. I hope to correct that error now. A shower in my house had been leaking behind a wall for months. I had no idea. when I found out, just before Thanksgiving, much damage had already been done, a total remodel had to be done, like right now. I wish I could say that I made all the right decisions, but no. I made a lot of mistakes. The Lowes employees whom I would like to recognize who were key factors in helping get me through this mess are: Carol, Candi, Frankie, Michelle, Anna B, Anna M, MJ, Jesus, Jane, Ted, Chris, and Chelsea. They helped me correct errors I made when I ordered wrong supplies, and or the right item but the wrong size. they helped me find screws, tile, paint, supplies to rebuild my shower, faucets, cabinets and much more. I paid for the initial supplies with a wrong account. Carol and Chelsea spent pains taking hours correcting my mistake so that I could pay with the correct account, which saved me a tremendous financial headache. My order was put through the bid room, which saved me $603.24. That does not account for many other discounts I received on supplies I bought latter. To all of you wonderful people named above, thank you for helping me in the damage repair and rebuild of my bathroom and for helping me correct the errors I made in the prosses. you guys are awesome! The absolute worst to deal with but I'm sure you already knew that. Fridge arrived scratched and someone was supposed to call me to replace it per the delivery crew. I called every day and waited on hold 40 minutes day after day just to get transferred. Also, this fridge was delayed for 2 months straight and looks nothing like the picture. read more

Lowes needs to start firing some employees. I'm sick of this crap. They advertise a sale on appliances stating exactly what the discount is, and how much the appliance cost. The employees don't know there is a sale, they argue about the sale price when I'm showing it to their face. They try to charge the full price and they don't even know how to operate the registers. The manager was the only person who knew how to actually ring the item up correctly. I asked for the manager for 20 minutes before the employee would get them, and I had to specifically ask for them to quit wasting my time. The manager was not friendly at all, ignored everything I was trying to say, and could care less. At least after about 45 minutes I was able to actually pay the price that was advertised. From now on, I will never set foot in any Lowes. Order everything offline, it only takes 3 seconds and you are done. Worthless service and it is completely obvious the upper management could care less. read more

Got estimates for a fence job from Lowe's met yo sign contract. Surprise they wanted paid in full first. Never heard of that before. Now he says work to start in 3 weeks. I said that was not stated at estimate he said it was I said I'd remImagine everyone across this country employing them to do a job. that's pretty good interest on our money. My 77 year old disabled mother bought a refrigerator from lowes which is no more than 2 miles from her home. She paid in full and scheduled delivery for today. My mothers property manager and maintenance man have been working for day to prep for an easy delievery. The delivery driver called at 11 am saying he was 30-40 minutes away, because delivery comes from Joplin instead of the store 3 minutes down the road. So the property manager and maintenace man came to remove her none working fridge out. The delivery driver came, the maintenace guy told him to drive around to the back door. Well the driver just drove off without delivery and back to joplin. He said the maintenance guy wouldnt allow him on property, which is not the truth at all, especially after days of prep work. The driver didnt even call to tell my mother, so she was just left sitting in a room full of spoiling food waiting. No calls to her, nothing. My mother became concerned for the driver at that point, thinking something happened to him, but he would not answer her call or return her voicemail. Then they send a text saying delivery rescheduled for 3 days away. Not acceptable! I called the store manager, "nothing we can do, call this number" 980-231-4843 which is the delivery service from Joplin. I talked 3 different people there who only said "sorry nothing we can do, you will have to wait 3 days" nobody can help meanwhile my 77 year old disabled mother now sits with spoiled food and no way to keep any of it at this point. I have no idea why there are negative reviews for Lowes. In fact, only negative one star reviews are suspicious. Lowes is a popular home improvement and hardware store in this area. Customer service is excellent. I have been shopping here for 16 years and been treated very well. I highly recommend this store as it is my favorite. read more

No employees in the plumbing section. Pushed the help button and waited. No one ever showed up. There are plenty home improvement stores in the area. Find yourself a different one and go to it. Geez, this is the worst Lowes experience ever. I'm new to the area and hope this is not the norm. Went in to purchase some wood/lumber and needed it to be cut. I asked three different guys who were back there who could help, and they all pointed to the other in a growly tone. A man with a red vest was walking toward that direction (way at the back of the store) when I mentioned to him, I needed someone to cut the wood. He actually had the nerve to point and tell me to go to the front of the store and ask them to page someone. I sternly said: No, you go up there and find someone. I'm not on Lowe's payroll and don't' work here, but you do!! The only person who was polite and helpful was the lady cashier by the name of JERI. Had it not been for her kindness, I would have dumped the wood on the floor and left. Thank goodness there was at least one polite staff member at the Hollister Lowes. read more

We started our small condo kitchen remodel the first part of September waiting three weeks and three measurements before finally getting an order placed. Always the same line..."I was just going to do yours next" or "we are going to get that done for you ASAP." Should have been finished before Thanksgiving and now it's not even going to get finished before Christmas. After coming three times for measurements the cabinets we wanted didn't fit so we had to return and reorder waiting for the new cabinets to get finished. One person tells us we can't add the backsplash we wanted so we redesigned and now the next guy says we can. Nobody knows what the other guy is doing. One story changes to a new story. Because of this setback we most likely will miss having Christmas with our kids in FL. Thanks Lowe's in Hollister, MO read more

I would have given a zero star rating if that was an option. This is the worst run store I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Do not do business here. I tried to get hardwood flooring and have it installed. They screwed up every step of the way. Three months later the wood flooring was getting installed and it was all bad. None of it was the same width. Turns out Lowe's buys trash from Bruce hardwood that they can't sell to reputable flooring stores. When they agreed to give me a full refund they even screwed that up. They refunded the installation fees but not the product fee. I had to go back again and get them to give me my money back. Will NEVER do business again at this Lowe's or any other Lowe's. read more

I bought a refrigerator from them for ~$2000, it was a special order. Both times it came damaged. I was pretty much forced to accept the damaged refrigerator or go without until they could actually deliver an undamaged one. But then they dropped one of the refrigerators as they were replacing it, onto my Red Oak Staircase. Put 2 great big gashes in the wood. It would cost between $15,000 and $20,000 to have the staircase built - but they are telling me the damage is only $271 and they are just going to "sand out" the gashes when they are deeper that 3/16" AND the gashes are on a rounded corner of the tip of the steps. IE, they don't care at all about my house or the damaged they caused. read more

We ordered a bathroom cabinet online on 11/28/18... On the 4th of Dec they emailed and said that our order was cancelled. So we called up there talked to a manager he said he could get one from Springfield with in 2 days... Had me over the phone give him my credit card again. Then on the 7th we went to go and pick it up. The cashier said that they had the cabinet but needed the card again due to the fact that it was cancelled again..... so reluctantly we gave it again to them. They at this time charged us full price for the cabinet. So we told them this and they fixed it. Then when I was looking online banking I noticed that the charge on 12/4 was still there plus the charge on 12/7. So on 12/10 I drove to Lowe's to have them fix this. They tried to tell me that it was the banks problem that they over charged me and I needed to take it up with them because it wasn't in their system even though I had all the transactions from my banking printed out for them to see. There is no way that this is the banks error I was charged on the day that I spoke to the manager and again when we went to go pick this up. Such a disappointment, if you don't know how to use the machine DONT..... so at this point I am out $162.00 and they don't care read more

Ordered a washer from Lowes and I was told it would be delivered in 2 weeks. Waited all day on the delivery date and the delivery never showed up. I called the delivery department at 4:30 pm which was supposed to be open until 5:00 pm but no one picked up the phone after 3 attempts. Finally at 7:30 pm. I got a call from the delivery driver telling me he wasn't going to make it. Talked to a night manager who didn't seem to care. Cancelled the order and will never shop there again. read more

I ordered counter tops from Lowe's and was given the time frame for when they would be in, 28 days. After 35 days I went in to check on my order and found that sometime during the previous 4 weeks the Lowe's representative received an email from the counter top maker informing her that the color we chose was not in stock and would take an additional 4 weeks. I found this out after one employee at the pro desk checked into it and got back to me 2 days later. Since we were already four weeks into waiting for them we decided it would not be any faster to order from a different supplier and waited on our original order. We were told at that time we would receive a discount for having to wait. Four weeks later on a Friday evening after 6pm when all deliveries and pro desk personnel were gone for the weekend, they arrived at Lowe's. Thanks to the lady at the Pro desk she had made arrangements for them to be delivered the next day. They were delivered on Saturday afternoon and not surprisingly the were wrong!! They were the right color but were wrong in several different ways. I contacted the employee we had placed our order with and told her one top was missing and the others had backsplashes and were not supposed too the bar top had a scratch in it, also the sink hole we were to get at no additional charge had not been cut. She told me she would discount me and I said her offer was not enough since after waiting 8 weeks on a 4 week order they arrived and were incorrect. She asked me what I thought and I told her I did not believe after all of this that I should have to pay for them, she said "I will take care of it" and our conversation ended. A couple weeks later I found that this had not been taken care of so I inquired into it and found that she now was saying that she never said that to me. After working with the pro desk employee for a couple weeks she was able to get a little over 50% taken off of the price. I contacted the management today and they gave a little more discount but would not honor their employees original statement. If she would have told me this the day they delivered I would have refused to take them and would have made my own, which after this I wish I would have and will next time. My company shops here because we have an account with them. Every time I call the store, I am on the phone getting sent to multiple departments because each one that picks up the phone says "that is not my department". When I finally talk to someone, they are rude 90 % of the time and could care less that they are helping me. I try to avoid shopping here but sometimes they are our only choice. read more

have bought washer,dryer,stove,refridgerator,dishwasher,microwave, all at different times. also have purchased numerous other products from them, only had problems with 2 purchases, 1 no fault of the store. that one was a stove, a Samsung was supposed to be here in 30 days special order, stopped in on 32 days asked about it, they called Samsungs customer service,samsung was very rude, the folks at lowes shot back at them and said they needed an answer to where my stove was at. finally they said the stove was on backorder and diddnt know when it would be in. the folks at lowes were very good when I told them to cancel the order and I bought a different brand. it was delivered in less than 2 days, the delivery guys put old stove in garage. the 2nd problem was a toilet seat that cracked in half, it had a year warrenty and it was only six mo. old , had to talk to manufacturer, the church folks said no problem and sent me a new seat don't know if that particular department mgr is there or not anymore, as I have not seen the person since, also church told me they (lowes) should have taken care of it. all in all I have had many good experiences with lowes and continue to do business with them. one more thing lowes does give a military(active,retired,or vets discount of 10% on purchases made weather on sale or not, thanks lowes. read more

We used the contractor provided through Lowe's for some flooring and bathroom upgrades. The project did not turn out as well as we had planned. The contractor did a sloppy job and we still have some issues with the work completed. If you use Lowe's you have to pay up front for the total cost and then they come out and "inspect" the work. This is a total joke........if there is a problem it is not dealt with and Lowe's want to send the contractor who didn't do the work correct in the first place back out to your project. I would not recommend Lowes or their contractors to anyone. There is no support there if there are problems. You just either fix it yourself and you have to call in another contractor who can correct the issues. It is not right to have to pay the full balance before the work even begins. Not pleased with Lowe's or the customer service at all. Regrets using Lowe's for our project. read more
