We were at the store at 10:10 am today needing a lot of material, lumber and concrete for fence building. We could not get any if it as the lumber associate was at lunch and would not be back for another 50 minutes. To not have a backup person and not be able to assist your customers on their schedule is a terrible customer service. We spend a lot of money in Lowe's, especially in this store and we are clearly not appreciated. read more

I had to buy a dryer. I went to Lowe's to see what they had available. I have purchased several appliances from Lowe's. Their customer service can't be beat! I found a dryer to purchase, bought it and scheduled delivery. My new dryer was delivered two days later. The delivery men hooked the dryer up, turned it on to make sure it heated up and left. Three days later, Saturday, I put a load of delicates in the dryer and lots of clanging and banging noise came out of the dryer. When I changed the fabric setting to "bulky" the noise wasn't as loud but it was still there. Sunday morning I went to Lowe's with my bill of sale and a video of the dryer making lots of noise. The lady at the Customer Service Desk was telling me since the dryer was new I needed to contact the manufacturer to get it repaired. I told her I wanted to swap the bad dryer for a new one. It made sense to me to swap. The discussion went back and forth about returning the dryer. If I could pick it up and return it to the store, I would have I pressed to call a manager to find out about swapping the bad dryer for a new one. The lady called a manager and he agreed I could swap the bad dryer for a new one. Yay! I scheduled the delivery and the next day another crew from Bessemer swapped out the dryers. This crew were born and raised in the USA. They understood what I was saying. It turns out Lowe's hires a third party contractor to deliver and set up appliances. These two men did a much better job of setting up the dryer. I was glad they came out for my delivery swap out versus the first two guys whose English wasn't good at all. The customer service from the two guys from the third party contractor was top notch. I am glad I purchased from Lowe's. I was treated very well. read more

I went in to get some help with the cooktop and it took a minute to get anyone's attention and then when I did, I spoke to Colleen, who did everything she could not to help me. She kept directing me to do additional work online or pay some additional fees when I had some very simple questions. I find the selection was OK and the value was OK but the service was surprisingly terrible today. I've had some good luck with a Joseph. I believe before, but this time I didn't get to speak with him, and this woman was not very helpful. read more

I like Lowe's! I love browsing Lowe's way more than the bright orange store nearby. Lowe's is my go-to store for garden flags. The quality is good and they are inexpensive. I love shopping here at Christmas time because they have a good selection of Christmas ornaments, poinsettias, Christmas cacti, and giftable plants such as African violets and orchids. I frequented this store when I lived a few miles away in SE Huntsville. Over the years, I've used this Lowe's for getting keys made, buying paint, buying cleaning supplies such as Bona floor cleaner and polish, light bulbs, appliances, and more. I always enjoy browsing the lighting department. I've found returns to be quick and easy, the restrooms are clean and for the most part, the employees are helpful. My best friend has military credentials and for years, we would shop together, and she would get, I believe, a 10% discount. Bought a garage door opener and paid for installation service, provided by Angi. Over the next 2+ weeks installer showed late (more than two hours outside three hour window), no-showed on the rescheduled time, rescheduled the reschedule to an unacceptable time slot. Will not buy anything requiring installation from Lowe's or any other business using Angi installation services. read more

Problems with an online order when calling the store. You'll get trapped in an automated system. When you do speak to a person, you'll be put on hold for a long time. You'll be on hold even longer if a Manager has to resolve the problem. Moral of the story... Pack a lunch if you need to call the store to get help. read more

Lowe's has gone downhill so quickly and just horrible. I've had bad experiences in three different locations. You can never get any help. They never have in store what their website says. I ordered a jacket at one location. I went in to pick it up and they were like sorry we don't have what you ordered online. They could have sent me an email saying it was canceled instead of me making a special trip for nothing. I went into another location waited 20 minutes for help so I went to the service desk and found 6 employees standing there just talking. I will only go to Home Depot from now on! We went in with the intention of ordering a new (and needed) garage door. We found the doors and had questions so I pushed the call button and as always, heard the familiar "customer needs assistance in garage doors' over the intercom. We waited, saw at least 4 clerks pass by that aisle at the end of it, never glancing down that aisle. We pushed the call button at least 4 times and no one showed up. I called the front desk on my phone and told them I was in the store and waiting to be helped in garage doors. "We will get someone back there right away. Still no one. We jokingly gave that store 3 minutes to help us or we were headed to Home Depot. Finally we saw Ken and Troy stroll by chatting and I went after them. When I explained we had been waiting and the intercom calling, their reply was that they were in an other part of the store and didn't hear it. Really, that stupid voice can be heard throughout the store. They just didn't want to help us because garage doors weren't their expertise. The garage door guy was at lunch. When they finally started helping us and we went to the computer to get down to ordering, they were helpful and informative. Turns out the door was less expensive from that particular vender to come home and order it online. They even suggested it to save us the 215 delivery fee which they could not waive. All in all, I was pleased with the service when I finally was helped. It just irritated me that 4 employees ignored the intercom telling them someone needed help in garage doors and I had to run them down for help. They apologized but there's really no excuse for wasting 15 minutes of my time trying to get help. read more

This store has the worst customer service of any home improvement store in Huntsville. I've shopped there for the last thirty years... but no more. I made a point to order a screen door online so I could reduce my time in the store and contact with employees. It turns out that they don't actually keep their orders near the customer service desk, and if you're a single day late, your order is cancelled and they can't find it. The employee (Marcus) sent to hunt down my order spent a half hour looking for it. Most infuriating: he refused to wear his mask because "it was too hot". Well, it wasn't too hot to wear mine. Of course he wore his mask around his neck, I suppose so he could pull it up quickly when his supervisor came by. None of his coworkers cared. I guess the store manager doesn't either. Sadly, politics probably plays a role and they all need to prove their support for their party by ignoring the evidence that wearing masks reduces transmission. So what if they spread the virus to their customers? That's why I will never set foot in there again. read more

I am truly disappointed at my local Lowe's store (#411). I bought a last minute decoration for Halloween. Unbeknownst to me, the item had previously been returned (evident by the dirt that was on the stake in the box) and placed back on the shelf. I buy the item unaware that it was returned because it was defective. I've tried to return this item to the Lowe's I purchased from but Dianne would not allow me to return it 1)because it was defective and 2) because it was 1 day pass an unknown return policy that even the associates were not aware of. Dianne made it a point to ensure that no other associate would help me with this matter. I am quite disappointed with the service I received today as Lowes has always been my preferred place to by appliances and home items. read more

I just wanted to praise Bobby Smith for Helping me with an appliance purchase. I tried to order it online with a lot of difficulty and I was on the phone with customer care for over an hour. They claimed the financing was an error when it was clearly advertised in store and online and made up a bunch of other excuses for the other issues. I went into the Lowe's on north memorial and had issues with ordering the item at the price shown online and was left with "just keep calling us". They also gave me some other confusing info about if they ordered me the fridge they could sell it to another customer since it wouldn't be marked it was mine (WTF?!??) However, I thought I'd try a different store and am so glad I did. Bobby helped me order the fridge and solved the pricing discounts and financing flawlessly. He had me in and out within around 15 minutes or so with no issues. It's lovely to have employees that know how to do their job and that treat customers with kindness. Absolutely terrible experience with flooring dept. Today is12/26. We've been trying to get carpet installed no later than 12/28. We started the process 11/19. For over a week Lowe's didn't know where the measurements were. After several calls, visits to the store, and emails the measurements appeared. Next Lowe's lost the carpet. I was told it was not in stock. I knew it was in stock; I'd had the floor person cut off a remnant for me to send out of town to confirm the nap. After a few more days they confirmed, yes it was in stock. Great! Well no not really. Though Lowe's screwed up every part of the process they say they can't expedite the process any faster. I probably won't even hear from installers to make an appt. before the evening of the deadline I need it in. Now I have to delay moving furniture out of the pod that came yesterday. I have to reschedule movers that were to unload the pod and risk paying storage charges on the pod. I have to find other accommodations for a family and 2 Rottweiler until the carpet is in. It's been more stressful, more time consuming, more costly than it should have been. They were not proactive. Lowe's did not communicate as they lead customers to believe in writing. A mistake even at my expense, chalk it up to human error. Mistakes at every twist and turn? To me managerial incompetence. This is the Lowe's, 3505 N. Very unorganized, unprofessional, and lack of customer service. I came to pick up my order of 4 small plumbing things. When I got to Lowes, I called the store because my order was still processing after a few hours. A woman named Rachel picked up and didn't seem to understand my issue that my order wasn't ready. I was on hold and kept getting transferred to different departments before I was finally asked how far away are you? Ma'am, like I said earlier, I am here at the store waiting in the parking lot. She asked me to come inside to sign. I went to the pick up area and a woman said she would have to go in the store to pull my order. After a few minutes Salem came over and said sorry, I should have told you to come pick up at customer service. While she was processing things (don't understand why that took almost another 10 minutes-I already paid and they had my order right there) Salem and the woman Rachel where laughing about customers on the phone right in front of me. I was thinking, y'all are so rude, just please figure your stuff out and let me go. This service was TERRIBLE and I gave two stars instead of one because they actually had the items at the counter for me when I got inside. Get it together Lowes. read more

Never again. Apparently now you don't get a military discount by showing your ID at the register. I was told to go online and get this Lowes card thing and they can verify your service online and it will be loaded to the card. I did all the steps and then it asks me to bring my DD214 to the customer service to load it on my card. This is a total waste of time. I even emailed them about it while I was on their site, basically people abused the system and employees were giving the discounts to their family and friends and it became excessive, so now its the veteran's problem. I will go to Home Depot. Get some new employees if they are costing you that much. The store on North Parkway (not on yelp) has the rudest employees and they can never help you or are never around.. read more

Visited the South Pkwy HSV store to find quick connects for small pressure washer. Walked around for 10 minutes looking for an associate. No luck. Walked to front checkout area and asked them to call someone to help. Waited another 5 minutes and the guy they sent stopped to help another customer. When he finally did arrive, he had no understanding of the parts I needed. (Not his fault, Lowes should have sufficient trained/informed employees working especially on weekends) He tried to find someone who did understand the parts. Another 5-10 minutes, the one guy "who knows" is either on break or at lunch, or somewhere ? In short, don't waste your time. If you want to save money, figure it out yourself and order from Amazon. If you want customer service, go to Lewter Hardware downtown. The quality of customer service at Lowes and its "orange" competitor are near zero. Unless of course you enjoy spending your day standing around in huge box stores talking to poorly trained/informed sales associates. read more

I have recently been disappointed with this Lowe's. They once had superior customer service, but haven't kept up their standards. On my last 2 trips, I have received VERY poor service. For one of the trips, the Garden Associated watched me load my cart with bags of river rock, then greeted me when I was through. No offer to help or even to assist me taking my load to my car. This was a failure of Management. The other trip, there was only check-out lane open with multiple people in line. Then the door alarm went off for a security tag on a package, and the lone cashier had to stop and help. I was so disgusted, I left my purchase on the cart and walked out mad. The biggest difference between Lowes and that other home improvement chain is the staff, and unlike Wal-Mart, their products are high quality and they are not an "evil empire". North Huntsville store cannot seem to get it together! This store has such high turnover I can NEVER GET HELP OR THE PROPER service !!! I ordered tile on line then could not return the ones I didn't need and the ones . I've returned the rest of the tile not needed And the ones broken in the box. I complained about this to online customer service then only got a form letter back. I've asked about inventory at the store by phone, only to WAIT AND WAIT, lied to about amounts then had to travel to another store!! Why is this??? Shopping for new appliances for my kitchen, we walked around the appliance section for several minutes while they guy in the blue vest did his best not to make eye contact with us. When we finally answered our own questions by looking at the dismal selection they had we finally approached him to ask where the double ovens were..he took us to stoves! We had to explain to him what a double oven was. I love this store here in south Huntsville. I live in Florida now. But am having a complete remodel of my mother's home that I am paying for. I have contractors constantly in and out buying stuff on my behalf. I always get a courteous phone call, the store gives me a discount, emails a receipt and provides a receipt to the contractor. So painless. Been working with them on a constant basis for a month now on not insignificant purchases. Have even made returns via third party, absolutely no issues. I enjoy picking material out here in my local store and having my contractor pick it up there. read more
