The delivery guy dropped off the 26 boxes of bamboo floors and the installer said he was supposed to remove them out of boxes not just drop them off. And the delivery guy wanted to drop them off in the garage. So the installer said the bamboo wood floors had to sit in the house for another 4 days...keep in mind I already had to WAIT A whole MONTH. Plus I had to take off work for the floors to be installed on July 14, 2021 and the installer said he can't do it... so I took off work for nothing I lost my 8 hours when I could of went to work and make money. Bought some fencing and returned it 5 days later - never got the refund. tried calling the sotre - got a mind-bending AI voice asking to solve my problem. Finally got Sue on the line and she said she, but put me on hold 10 minutes [before I hung up] because she could not see where ithe money actually went [not to my credit card]. After a 10-miute hold, I called back and got connected with a woman who would not identify herself and when i asked her a second time for her name, she hung up. Called corporate service - got the same silly AI run around when I asked for "customer service" kept saying she could help me no matter what I said. Finally got thru to Alton, explained my frustration abd he also disconnected my call. Called again and got Jennifer who gave me her name, listed, and did resolved the problem. But good grief their AI complete sucks and their personnel are incredibly rude. read more

I just bought a fixer-upper that needs EVERYTHING. It also has a pretty big yard, so I bought a heavily-discounted electric riding mower from the Amb Caffery Lowe's that was delivered two weeks ago. It was delivered with incorrect accessories and a few missing parts. No big deal, as that's what customer service is there for. Less than two weeks after taking delivery, I brought the 700W charger to the store, letting them know that the mower comes with a 1600W charger (this makes many hours of difference in charging the batteries). The assistant store manager, Tommy, was dismissive and was unwilling to offer any resolution. I later offered the idea of a discount, given that I could then buy the correct charger - Tommy said "no I'm not going to do that," and I think even tried to stare me down. His whole tone seemed to indicate that I was trying to take advantage of him or the store - I just wanted the correct items that were to be included in my purchase. The next day, I decided to just return the whole thing, given Tommy's personality towards me. Loaded up the mower, all parts that were delivered with it, and brought it to the store. I don't think Tommy was working, but then again, no manager ever did come to speak with me. They simply told the nice returns worker that my item was a clearance item and sold "as-is," with no ability to be returned (it's not listed that way on the receipt). Again, a manager never did actually show up, despite the returns worker calling and asking them to 2 or 3 times over the course of 20+ minutes. I called Lowe's corporate customer service from home about an hour later. They scheduled a delivery truck to handle the return for the next day. This place that I got is going to need everything - full re-pipe, windows, re-wiring, new bathrooms and kitchen... just everything. This is my second review I'm leaving here 2 days in a row about a weed eater that I purchased the day before. The weed eater would not work and my husband called the store and was told to return it. My husband went in today (next day) to return it and the lady that was helping him was interrupted by 2 unprofessional employees with attitudes saying that he couldn't return it. He explained to them the situation and that he was told he could return it by an employee on the phone. Another employee stepped in and asked the two employees why he can't return it and then asked my husband if there was any gas or oil in the weed eater and that if not he could return it. The original lady that was helping my husband kept apologizing for how the unprofessional employees were acting even tho it wasn't her fault and she was doing everything right. This Lowe's will not be seeing us again after dealing with employees that are unprofessional, rude, and have zero knowledge of anything two days in a row. read more

This store might appear nicer and seem updated but their customer service sucks and the employees are completely useless. The employees are always on the phones and have attitudes. I see the negative reviews and I think we have all had them at some point early everywhere you shop. Overall, Lowes has a good selection and good pricing. There are better places for flooring, carpet and appliances but if you want to one stop shop they do everything fairly well including delivery and installation which is great for those who don't want to do it yourself. I went in this store today to buy a display cooktop that was marked on clearance for $159. The manager refused to sell it to me, claiming it was nonfunctional and a fire hazard/potential liability. Nowhere on the price tag's description did it mention the appliance's nonfunctional status. I called corporate and asked why are they displaying an item for sale when it in fact is not for sale and a potential liability? A Corporate representative informed me that any nonfunctional appliance display model is not for sale, even if it is marked for sale with a price tag, and they had the manager remove the tag. I am baffled that they would not sell this to us because I was under the impression that according to Louisiana law, if said item had a bar code and was marked for sale, a vendor had to sell said item to the customer, unless it is fraud. Either way, I spent almost an hour on the phone and came away with the following information: 1) a nonfunctional display model can have a Clearance price tag and not really be for sale... 2)it is up to the store manager whether or not a nonfunctional display model can be sold to a customer, even though it really is not for sale... 3)if you call corporate to try and explain why a clearance item is not for sale, they will state that any nonfunctional appliance is really not for sale, but it is up to the manager to sell it or not... Long story short, I plan on shopping elsewhere for appliances or anything else home and garden related. read more

Bad return policy - Lowe's does not accept returns under warranty for items that were bought more that 90 days prior. And let's face it: most items don't fail within 90 days. Worst customer service I ever seen. Closest store to me with a refrigerator in stock we wanted. I drive 45 minutes to pick it up since ours had went out on Sunday. They gave me the wrong one (I couldn't see with all the wrapping). They told me 4 times that they wouldn't come to switch it out after I told them I didn't have any help to load it back up anymore. I finally got help 2 days later and went return and wanted to know why I didn't call and get them to swap it out. I couldn't talk to a manager. I was left on hold for a hour on two different days. read more

This is a typical big box home improvement store. The plus here is that they have almost any common home improvement item you could need. The down side is that it may be difficult to find some items without help and the employees are not always knowledgeable about items you may need, so for more obscure items it may take a while. It is my go to place for light bulbs since they have almost every kind of bulb I've ever needed. They also are great for just general plants, flowers and greenery to make the yard look nice. If you have a green thumb you can usually get the neglected plants for next to nothing and revive them. read more

I came in to return a generator that was unused and just opened. Purchased approximately 13 days prior to this visit. The employees working the customer return desk said that they won't take it back because the box was open. So I proceeded to call their customer service and they got in contact with the manager of the store. Conclusion was that as long as the generator was unused, dials were all at zero, and box was in good condition, generator could be returned. Leaving 1 star because the generator was extremely heavy to transport, and it'd be greatly appreciate if the employees working the return counter actually knew the return policy. The girls that were working the counter were pretty adamant about not allowing me to return the generator. read more

Lowe's on Ambassador Caffrey in Lafayette, LA has long had the most shamefully maintained hardware department imaginable. Many of the slots are supposed to hold certain items may be total junk piles of miss matched items holding none of the items tagged on the shelf. Whomever at corporate level is responsible for ensuring the store is maintained as it should be is not doing their job. Store management, department management, and floor clerks all need direction that they are not getting. Home Depot across the street and Stine Lumber not far away are both light years ahead in the dependable accurate stocking of all nuts and screws. read more

By time I got there in person while still on the phone calling I found workers in both departments gossiping/chatting while phone was ringing next to them. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE! To start my "experience", we had to wait over an hour just to get acknowledged in appliances. Once we finally got "helped" I thought everything was going smoothly. The wife picked out her dream appliances for her dream house, all is well. Or so I thought. I made sure that the associate, Mr. Terry Holloway, knew we wanted the MAYTAG BRAVOS XL WITH STEAM WASHER AND MATCHING DRYER (Both Steam, and in white), and a Fridge. He told us that the color and everything we asked for wouldn't be a problem, and that they've got them IN STOCK. We paid (over $4000) and were told delivery and install would be in 2 days, except of the fridge, which SHOULD take 7-10 days. When the delivery came, the washer was the wrong model, no steam, and the dryer was a WHIRLPOOL! When I called and tried to get it straightened out, I was continually transferred (or hung up on) until they took my name and number about 10 times, from about 4 different people (some people took my name and number down multiple times, and had no memory of talking to me that SAME DAY) finally I got back to Terry, who said that the products that I wanted didn't even exist, and insisted that he was the "Specialist", so he HAD to be right. And then he placed the blame on the delivery guys and Maytag. So, I drove to the store, and again, could find no one to help me. (It wasn't busy at that time, there were just no employees to be found) Eventually I was helped by a guy from PLUMBING, who couldn't find me in their system under my name or phone number. He said Terry must have made some executive decisions about what appliances we would get. After about 3hrs of searching online, we finally found the washer and dryer I wanted. It needed to be special ordered, and we got the OK from The ASM, Billy. But, since it was now late, we would have to wait until July 5th to contact Maytag and get the items ordered to the store, because of the holiday. Understandable, yet frustrating nonetheless. I was told to expect a call back as soon as they are able to hear back from Maytag. I was assured that management was aware of the issue, and that they would get it handled with "priority". Days pass, and on July 5th I get a call from the guy in plumbing asking if I was able to get it all sorted out. Uh, no, I have had no attempts at contact from your store and have no idea what's going on. He assured me that he would call me again on The 7th, when he's back at work. Didn't happen. Finally, on the 10th or 11th, I got to the Assistant Store Manager, Billy, with whom I'd spoken with on the night of the 3rd in person. He had a vague recollection of our meeting, and told me that he meets 100s of people a day so I should forgive him for not remembering me (Seriously? is this a common occurrence?) and on top of that, he vehemently defended Terry! I told him that at this point, instead of paying the $400 difference in the cost of the steam vs no steam appliances (which apparently it should have been at least $600, according to them despite what the sign IN STORE said). I told him if it's too difficult to get fixed, to just send the matching NO STEAM dryer for the washer that apparently I had purchased (according to them, I CHOSE and PAID FOR the whirlpool dryer as well, not the matching set). He took my name and number (again) and told me to wait for a call back. Nothing. For days. Finally yesterday (the 13th) I get a call from a delivery guy saying he's on my way to my house with my dryer, with ABSOLUTELY NO NOTICE. Well, on this day I happened to be in BR. I was told that I'd have to wait until the 16th for delivery because they are booked solid. I guess "PRIORITY" means something else at Lowe's. Now it's the 14th and I called to get a status on my fridge, and according to their system it's ALREADY BEEN DELIVERED! I hope they didn't leave it under the doormat like FedEx! Apparently I should have been enjoying nice refrigerated food this whole time. Also, they didn't install the washer and dryer, or put the feet on the units to level them out. So now I'm sans fridge, and got a tilted steamless washer, and a whirlpool dryer. I've given up my STEAM dreams of fresh, wrinkle-free clothes, in order to just get this over with, without shelling out even more cash. DO NOT GO HERE! Oh, and I almost forgot, we also got the 5 year protection plan for our new appliances, so I'm sure that's going to be another headache if something breaks in the future. And despite the sign saying that if we got multiple appliances we would get money back, there has been no mention of anything like that to me. I'm going to need it so I can buy something to steam my clothing in the future. Can't I just get a HOME DEPOT gift card, instead? TLDR: 0/10 would not recommend. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I have never in my life treated anyone of color any different than I would my own family but yesterday my daughter whose 9 and I were treated with such disrespect by not only one but two employees of color. We walked up to ask for help and the guy in the paint section literally ignored me and then when I asked for his help again, he said I'll do it when I'm done here. All I needed was for him to call someone to pick up a huge item I couldn't do myself. He was changing the receipt tape on his machine and when the other person of color walked over to him they snickered and said "her white ass can wait!" I don't care what's going on in the world today, if I treat you with respect then I deserve the same in return. It's hard enough as a woman to get respect sometimes but to even speak like that with my 9 year old with me. I'm disgusted! I'll pass on ever stepping foot in these doors again. I have been a professional remodeler in the Lafayette area for over 20 years. This location is consistently and by far the worst customer service to be found in the Acadiana area. The apathy of the management and incompetency of many of the employees is almost like a tangible smell when walking in through the front doors. To be fair, there are a few stand out employees who are polite, helpful, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately they are few and far between. And they don't stick around for long. The store obviously runs a skeleton crew of cashiers and it's rare to find an employee working in a department in which they are experienced and competent. I've wasted countless hours waiting for any available employee to stop stocking the shelves and assist me in retrieving items from the top stock, the back warehouse, or to assist loading large orders. If you have any experience whatsoever with the "Contractors' Desk" you realize that they appear to have little to no interest in assisting you or earning your long-term business. They are usually sitting at their desks or are on the phone and act like you are an inconvenience, interrupting their work. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a manager on the floor, much less observed them helping a customer have a better shopping experience. More times than I care to remember I have literally walked through the tool section with an employee to point out what tools I was inquiring about and explain to them what they were called and what purpose they serve. I have waited over an hour at the returns desk in a line of more than 10 people while managers walked by and directly ignored appeals by customers to provide an additional employee to assist the single cashier. (No, it wasn't at Christmas time) During the recent flood period one of my customers complained to me that a Lowe's employee called her at home during the evening and was very rude to her, demanding that she pick up her special order items immediately. My customer was actually in tears. Of course no one knew who this employee was when I inquired the next day and I waited 2 hours at the special order desk for them to locate any available employee who could attempt to locate the bath fixtures in the warehouse and bring the items to the front. I was actually asked to go get lunch or run a errand to allow them time to complete the task. I did so, and then waited another hour afterward because they couldn't locate my order or the first employee who was supposed to pull the order and we started over again. Last week I wasted an hour with two employees in the flooring department attempting to find an in-stock item for which I had a picture, item number, quantity available, and bin location from online. The department manager then stepped in and told me it was unavailable and, after checking information on the computer, sent me to the Northside and New Iberia locations where we couldn't find the flooring either. Three hours of phone calls by me and my customer to customer service and the distribution center revealed several palettes in the warehouse of the Lafayette store - where I started in the first place. An entire work day wasted to pick up 300 square feet of tile. 20 years of these types of experiences causes me to cringe when I have no choice but to do business with this store. I only shop here when I can't find an item elsewhere (Doug Ashy or Home Depot), or my customers don't heed my advice when making their selections for our projects. After our recent experiences, the last three customers have promised me that they won't use Lowe's again. Take my advice, shop local suppliers or at least go across the street to the big orange store. read more

I had took it off the shelf and was asking for assistance to cut it when they flat out told me that they could not assist me because the saw could not cut the piece of 4x4. What kind of saw cant cut a 4x4? That I thought it was a lie and I believe they just did not feel like cutting the wood and were taking advantage that I was a young woman in a hardware store. There should be minus star ratings because Lowe's does not deserve even one star. Try going without countertops and a sink for 3 months because Lowe's ordered the wrong cabinet piece. That and many more frustrations. You can never get through to any department, and if you are lucky to get someone to answer, they need to transfer you at which time you are disconnected. Everything that could go wrong with my kitchen redo did, and all because of Lowe's terrible customer service. I finally got a manager to call me after I called the Home Office in North Carolina to complain. And each time I would tell the "assistant manager" or whatever person I was talking to - to go without a sink and countertops they did not seem to care. The Lowes at 3726 Ambassador Caffrey Parkway is a place I will never enter this store again !!!! What a terrible experience. I went in for a simple water filter for my refrigerator. This was mid-morning on a thursday. As I walked in to the store the automated storewide speaker was calling for customer assistance in the hardware department. Since I had previously purchased this type of filter from other Lowes stores I knew the filter location was at the back portion of the store near the appliances. Speaker still calling for assistance in hardware. I found my filter and took it to the front for check out. Speaker still calling for assistance in hardware. There was one register open with a line. I only had two people in front of me. The "person" at the register had an attitude and was outright rude the guest she was ringing up. When she got to the next customer she gave no greeting, no good morning, no nothing. He had only one item, a pressure washer, she scanned it and stuck out her hand for payment. Nothing verbal at all. While this was happening she yawned in his face!! Didn't cover her mouth at all, you could see her tonsils! My turn, no greeting at all...scanned my item and stuck out her hand for payment. Didn't get her name because it was one of those names that have a lot of extra letters. I told her I wanted my military discount, she informed me I would have to register at customer service. What a crock. I'm standing there with my ID card and now I have get out of line and go register somewhere else. I left. By the way, the speaker is still calling for assistance in hardware. When I got to my vehicle I called the store and asked for the manager.. got a runaround--you would think I was asking to speak to the president. Didn't get his name because after he had repeated it 3 times I still couldn't understand him. Maybe Lowes should teach their managers how to speak. The requirements to be a manager should be more than having a pulse, what a dolt. Won't go in Lowes again. When Lowes goes out of business maybe they'll read comments like these. Home depot here we come. By the way, I bought the filter on line for 5.00 less and free shipping. Joke of a store. Wonder if the person ever got help in hardware. read more

I wish I didn't have to give this store a single star. The day before we were due to move into our first home, we needed a refrigerator, washer and dryer. I went online under this exact store location to see what was in stock since most people need these appliances quite soon--especially a fridge. I picked out an LG fridge but when we went in store to have it ordered, they said it wasn't in stock. When I asked why it said online that it was, we were told that they usually had it but for some reason they didn't send any new ones because of a fiscal year--yada yada". Going back, I was told that the fridge wouldn't be in for a week and a half to two weeks. Stupidly, I decided to bite the bullet and buy it anyway. Oh how I wish I could go back in time so that I could slap some sense into my brain and say that we would look elsewhere. This was on January 31st. It is now February 10th and I still don't have a fridge. Any time I call for updates, I get passed on to the next person. First it was supposed to be delivered the 16th, then, the 8th, now it's the 11th(tomorrow, God willing) I want to scream. Where on earth is the fridge shipping from, Iceland?! To tell my second story on the washer/dryer--that was thankfully delivered two days after purchase. I discovered over the weekend that this washer isn't what I expected so I went in to ask if we could do an exchange. This was Sunday, the 7th. My fridge was 'Supposed" to be delivered the following day. I picked out a different, more user friendly washer and asked if there was any chance they could deliver the washer with the fridge and pick up the one I had now. I didn't get my hopes up since it was pushing it close but I was okay with it being a couple days. I got a "Oh yes, of course! I'll just put it in the system--"Suddenly, I get.."Uh...it shows here your fridge hasn't even shipped, it's still in processing so it definitely won't be delivered tomorrow." I know that it wasn't the kids fault and that is the only reason why I didn't explode. He wrote down my name and number so that the same man who sold us the appliances from the beginning could give me a call to discuss about switching the washing machines. He never did. Never did I receive a call. So, my fridge may be here tomorrow, or it may not. I called this morning to get a time since my husband and I both work and to see if they would also do a washer swap. The lady said that it was only showing a fridge delivery but that I could talk to someone in appliances. After letting it ring for a full two minutes, they did not answer. I plan on returning this washer and buying the one I want elsewhere. I'm absolutely finished being lied to and passed around. Please know that I'm in no way saying that all who work here are incompetent. The times where I did go in to try and resolve this issue--I was always greeted by a worker in a different department and always asked if I needed in help. I'm also not saying that all who work in appliances are all terrible either. The customer service is what is terrible which is highly disappointing considering I have always heard high praise for the way people are treated if there are any appliance problems. Terrible service! I went in to purchase patio furniture today and left the store empty handed and mad as hell. I knew exactly what I wanted and the Lowes website confirmed that the items were in stock. The first employee I asked for help told me that "if there was any patio furniture, it would be near the front of the store or in the garden center." He was clueless. Nice, but clueless. Then, after looking all around the garden center (the patio furniture was all there), I decided to seek out another employee for assistance because the items I was looking for were nowhere to be found. I asked for help and was told that someone would be paged to help me. I was then told to go wait in the green house area, because someone would be waiting for me there. I did so and waited for no less than 10 minutes. No one ever came.
