What a Rip-Off! I had been warned about Sully's new management, that they sure were not Wallys,…read morebut didn't want to believe it. I had to have a single window pane in an old garage window replaced. I was thinking about just going to Lowe's and getting a piece of plexiglax for $11 and replacing it myself but I thought I'd give Sully's a call and see what it would cost to get it re-glazed with glass. I told her the size and she said with the glazing it would be about $20. So, I decided to go with it. When I got to the store with the wood frame I told one of the guys behind the service desk that I was told on the phone it would cost about $20 and he said that was about right. Well, when I went to pick it up today ,some joker behind the checkout, I guess it was some kind of manager in a dress shirt, fumbled around for a while saying he's not ususally at the checkout and finally told me it was $42! I told him I was told by two separate employees it would be about $20. Then he acted like I was lying, saying WHO SAID THAT! WHO'D YOU TALK TO! I was planning on buying a new riding lawn mower there this year since that is where I bought my last one a few years ago when it was Wally's. Also, all my chain saws and blowers. I had been told to be careful, they're not like Wally's used to be. So, if I need a hardware store I'll just go to Town & Country Tru-value in Bourbon, they're friendly and honest management. If you go to Sullys you better get any estimates in writing!!

What more could you ask for? It's located right off hwy 21 in Desoto, so it's easy to find. When I arrived I was looking for a dusk to dawn light, that honestly I wasn't sure if they would have. As I was walking around looking a bit puzzled, I was approached and guided to the proper area to find what I needed. It seems that whatever I need, even as odd as it can be they seem to have it and this location always has a very friendly staff.

As for service - it's hit or miss. I find the folks there to assist with loading, etc., to be very helpful and willing. I find the management to also be willing to help resolve issues, find stock, order things, etc. However, I've generally found the cashier folks to be somewhat less than helpful and often don't seem very well trained. I've had one tell me I couldn't order something off an upcoming truck when I know for a fact I can because I have. As for price - I think this place is pretty competitive. Their base 11 and 12% feed is priced great and is cleaner than most at that price. Their name brand feed and bagged alfalfa is also reasonable. I also found their heated water buckets to be FAR cheaper (for the same model) than on Amazon. Their bulk bird seed is also reasonable and great quality. Lots of selection - We've bought horse feed, chicken feed, dog and cat food, combo panels, Priefert gates, nuts, bolts, dog kennel panels, electric fencing parts, horse halters, lead ropes, tools, work gloves and much more here. They have just about everything you need around the farm. If you're in the area, I'd say stop by and have a look around! Oh, and they also sell clothing and hunting supplies.

If you desire to be viciously discriminated by employees for a disability, then "Ace is the place!"…read morefor you to experience such a disgusting show of human apathy and disrepect. Being treated as less than human by the staff there, because of my disability is infuriating. I have a service dog. She has been by my side 24/7 for more than 10 consecutive years. I know the rules. I am to be prepared to clean up any messes that she may ever make. That is the law. I have a medical bag, which contains medications along with support materials for my service dog, including things like a water bottle, collapsible water bowl, paper towels, hand sanitizer, poo bags, etc. Being stripped of my bag by staff, even after explaining that this is an ADA bag, is enough to make my blood boil. The bag is even labeled properly. Nobody asks to have a disability. The ADA laws exist to protect people from this kind of treatment. As a side note, all winnings in court are tax free, and it takes 3 people filing the same thing against the same entity to form a "class action lawsuit." The staff at Ace Hardware clearly fit the description of their pay far exceeding their tooth count. I seriously hope they go out of business. By the time they are treating me this way, they have done it to countless others, and will continue to do such until they are FORCED to stop, by court, by cops, or by someone who's probably had enough of being treated this way and snaps, making their own Dateline News segment. I do not recommend ever shopping here. Please: Do not support a business that viciously discriminates against people who have disabilities. You should be horribly ashamed of yourself for the way you treat members of the community. One day, karma may possibly make you disabled, and you will be forced to face the horrors of being treated the way you treated me.
