We are so incredibly grateful to the employees at Lowe's on US 41. Our experience could not have gone better. As interns for a non-profit church, there a couple more hurdles to go through when checking out and purchasing items. The entire Lowe's staff was extremely helpful and walked us through all the paperwork and checking out so patiently. We took up a large amount of their time, but everyone was so patient and helpful. Additionally, they reviewed the paint we were needing, and they found that we had not picked up the right paint we needed. Without these employees, we would have wasted a considerable amount of money on paint we did not need. We are so grateful to these employees and cannot recommend this Lowe's enough. About 4 employees helped us, and all were extremely helpful. We remember one of them was Blake, one was wearing a Valspar polo, and one had a military Lowe's vest on. read more

So a 1 star on Yelp equates to "Not Good." But not getting completely into the weeds of how bad my families experience was with this Lowe's location, I think they are getting off a bit unscathed by simply saying this Lowe's is "not good." I am the kind of person who is always anticipating the screw-up when it comes to the corporate giant. I come to the table with a little experience of screw-ups and I actually am very very very patient and understanding that "shit happens." I am. I am actually the perfect customer to have a screw up with, because I am normally very forgiving. I usually grin and bear it (because shit does happen), kill the corporate giant with kindness, and in the end, it all works out. A simple sink install. My dad and I go to Lowe's on August 19 to buy a kitchen sink. We are seeking to purchase a sink and pay for the Lowe's labor to have it installed. Seems easy, right? Harvey in the sink area and later Jesse, could actually not have been nicer, more patient or more knowledgeable, but a 1 Yelp review throws the baby out with the bathwater (in this example, Harvey and Jesse are the baby and the Lowe's corporate giant is the bathwater). I am writing this review today on October 12, because it was only in the last week that my dad's sink was installed and not by Lowe's. So the sink my dad wanted was not in stock at this location and I actually drove on my own to the location in Avon, Indiana to purchase myself. Not a problem. So the sink is physically at the home in Terre Haute where it is to be installed. And you know how it goes, Lowe's gets our labor order in their system and somebody will call you in a week or so and set up the install. This is the part that never got beyond this point. Let me paraphrase, starting with phone calls to their Central Production Office (which I now understand is the middle man between a local Lowe's and the installation teams they contract with), I began making calls to inquire on August 25 that lasted 35 minutes, August 26 that last 59 minutes, August 27 that last 1 hour and 1 min, August 31 that lasted 43 minutes...and after this I simply stopped keeping track of all the time I that I lost on this attempted install that actually never happened. As I said, I was kind of anticipating a screw up, thus why I noted the phone calls, who I spoke to and the duration. We paid for the labor, but it never happened and there was no mountain it appears that was going to be available to be moved to make this one little kitchen sink install happen. Some computer snag between our purchase from Lowe's Terre Haute and the installation operator selected (Handy Technologies) and after being told "someone will call you and reach out within 24-48 hours" at the end of the countless phone calls I made to the Central Production Office (877-505-4923). I don't care where the snag was, my father just needs to have his sink installed. Finally, after being patient as a kind customer who gives businesses the benefit of the doubt (especially during covid), my dad walked in to cancel the install last week and we simply used a local plumber (who came out about a week between phone call to install). This whole experience has exhausted and defeated me. Don't tell me repeatedly someone will call me in 24-48 hours and NEVER ACTUALLY CALL ME!!!!! My Yelp review does not actually articulate how much this Lowe's pissed me off. I cannot get the time back I spent being a nice customer who attempted to give Lowe's the benefit of the doubt. Lowe's failed me. I wanted to help my dad with a simple sink install. Lowe's failed me. I wanted to prove him wrong that service in these matters in the small rural spot of Terre Haute is possible through large established business like Lowe's. Lowe's failed me. I wanted to know that customer service to resolve a legit customer service does not get tangled in the large wheel of the corporate giant. Lowe's failed me. No phone call follow up or flagged account because it was over 10, 15, hell 30 days without an install being executed. Lowe's failed me. And in the end, no real apology from Lowe's with "hey, we are sorry." Lowe's failed me. As I mentioned before, the staff in this store were good and helpful as they could be. The problem was not at the local level, but in the levers of the Lowe's corporate giant often where customer service actually means less, for they are not face to face with the customer experience. At this Lowe's location, me nor my father are respected customers. This corporate giant does not care about us or this screw up that caused us significant time and exhaustion in our attempts to resolve. Do yourself a favor, skip Lowe's for install, hire local and directly. You will pay more, but you will probably get what you paid for and avoid the gigantic let-down experience we did. On Friday May 26 I stop by Lowe's for a few items I need for some Memorial Day weekend projects. Apparently other people had the same idea as the parking lot was packed. Being a frequent customer at Lowe's I readily found what I needed. I then headed for the checkout. That's when things went wrong. There was one cash register open. There was a little old frail looking man doing his best to ring customers up. What should have been a line had degenerated into a crowd milling around, trying to keep track of who was next. The self checkout was just as bad. I left my cart and walked out. On the 12th of June I went back again. The crowd was smaller, but it was just as bad as the little old guy wasn't there and no cash registers were open. The self checkout was a cluster ****. This time I waited. Call-to-action!! Lowe's Boycott!! Please read and share!!! Biggest bunch of fuckin bullshit I've ever fucking encountered in my adult life involving try to get a new washer and dryer delivered!!! COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNACCEPTABLE TO ME!!!! So, I contracted with Lowe's, Terre Haute, IN about two weeks ago for a new GE washer and dryer...I was really looking forward to having them delivered this morning, as scheduled. Don, their 3rd party (JB Hunt) deliveryman arrived on time with two assistants...none were wearing masks or facial coverings!!! Don, approached within 6 foot of me as we entered the back of my property. Now the deck on the backside of my home is rotten in sections and he refused to deliver, stating that the "structural integrity" of my deck prevented him from rolling his dolly accross it. I suggested he and his two assistants pick the machines up and carry them across the bad section of my deck...long story short, he refused and left with my machines!! I immediately drove from Clinton, IN to the Terre Haute, IN store where I bought the machines. Spoke with their Delivery Manager (Holly, very nice)...initially she offered to refund me my money, but what I explained to her is that what I really needed was a washer and dryer that functioned. She agreed to deliver the machines first thing in the morning. I then left the store and drove home, but I'm still LIVID because of the VERY UNPROFESSIONAL interaction with their delivery driver this morning, so I called JB Hunt to complain about this Don, JB Hunt Delivery Driver...was on hold forever with a very understanding young lady and was told that she was going to have Don's immediate supervisor call me back... Tyler, JB Hunt Supervisor (Don's Immediate Supervisor) called be back from 317-379-8904, and stated that they would be delivering my machines "first thing in the morning"...apologized profusely for Don's entourage showing up at my home without masks or facial coverings and leaving with my machines....then, I stated that I was considering filing a Criminal Complaint of Theft by Unlawful Taking against Don the Delivery Driver, he stated that I was Threatenening his driver with Arrest, he would have to speak with his Legal Department...and then HUNG UP ON ME!!! By the way, Don the JB Hunt Delivery Driver's cell phone number is 812-841-2711. He called me when he was 15 minutes away from my home this morning. I kept his number in my call log. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME!!! I have done business with Lowe's for years, have a Lowe's Card with TONS of available credit...GET THIS!!!...I called back to the store to speak with Holly and was told she was gone for the day. I was transferred to a man who identified himself as Patrick. I asked to speak to the Store Manager and was told that the Store Manager was out until morning. I identified myself to Patrick and asked if he had heard about my situation. Patrick stated that he had and that he had been instructed to issue me a full refund and stated that Lowe's would not be doing business with me in the future because I had "threatened their delivery driver", which is abjectly false! This Lowes is GREAT!!! Every time I go here they help me with what I need or help me find it. Kudos to Adam & Top Notch Employees for making this a place I & many more others want to go to and buy our materials from. I have only stepped into the other material place in town cause I have to. This Lowes plumbing and window/door department is top notch always ready to help. The only department I don't know about is.................................. Lowe's hires a third party to deliver. The delivery driver hit our mailbox and tried to argue with me about it. Everything is on camera. He continued to talk to me like garbage. We paid to have the old garage fridge taken back and they refused. They also refused to unload the fridge because of a couple of steps. I believe they wanted us to drop the issue that the mailbox was hit. We have shopped with Lowe's for years. After what happened today at our home and being treated and talked to so unprofessionally we are done with Lowe's. It's not worth dealing with crazy people. when I ordered my refrigerator, the salesman said they had plenty of them at the warehouse. we scheduled the delivery for the next weekend-- today, July 23, 2022. I received a confirmation voicemail on July 22, 2022 staying the appliance would be delivered between 9-1. I made a special 2 hour trip this morning, wasting my time and gas, I am not a rich person. 1 pm comes and goes. I call, have to ask for a manager because the girl had no clue what she was doing and wasn't friendly. manager named Brian was even worse. he told me they had it and then he didn't , took forever to call me back and was rude and wouldn't take responsibility for their mistake. told me I should reconsider my purchase. The store's employees at the Terre Haute store couldn't be nicer. That being said, customer service is the worst I've ever had. My refrigerator has not worked for over four weeks. Been given the runaround. The warranty department said the initial service would be the next day. It wasn't. Never received a call when it would be fixed. The Local repair service attitude was don't call us we'll call you. This is who Lowe's contracted with. I called last week and was told by the local store to ask for a throwaway and they will replace it. Well that did not happen. Call today and I got the same attitude. The warranty people are not cooperative and do not agree with what the local store says. was promised a food reimbursement and now they want receipts or an itemize list from food that was over four weeks ago. Who keeps receipts that long or a list of what you threw away four weeks ago? Very, very, very disappointed in the service I received on the refrigerator that is not three years old. I know they don't make them like they used to but this is ridiculous. I will find some other store to purchase from from now onAnd I have purchased several things from the store over the years my deep freeze my washer and all major appliances besides my refrigerator. I usually have trouble finding someone to help me or spend a long time waiting for them to finish with someone else. They either don't maintain enough staff or they need to do some training. Today there were 6 people in line for paint and one person mixing. Really? No one else in the whole store can help mix paint? There were three guys in appliances goofing off. Very frustrating. The indoor lumber is nice if you aren't sure what you need. It gives you time to look around, but then you have to load it on a cart, wheel it to the checkout, then load it in your truck. For larger orders, go to Menard's. Other than those two items, you will probably find what you are looking for. read more

Just bought a $3000 zero turn lawn mower. Tommy in garden Dept had to have a assembler put it together out of crate and start up to check it out. Waited almost a hour for it. Got it home , would not start. Called Tommy back and he assured me they started machine. After looking the Battery wasn't hooked up. Still had plastic covers on Battery for shipping. Spent 30 minutes in plumbing between 2 trips to the gas logs. No one offered to hep? 2 Lowes employees standing in the aisle talking about personal issues. Second trip back to plumbing and now 3 are standing near a computer discussing the same personal issues! Planned to purchase a couple of hundred dollars worth of materials. I shop a lot at Lowes. Its a nice store and they carry a wide assortment of products. Their prices tend to be higher that most other big box stores. One example of a high price is their wood pellets. They carry a quality brand and they charge $5.99. I can get the same pellet brand down the road for $3.49. I have also had a few problems with their customer service. Menards is a better option in my opinion. read more

Lowes saleman came out to give us an estimate on windows. After his full presentation, we decided to purchase a more expensive window than originally looked at. He took our measurements, told us we would hear back from him in a couple days, was going to talk to another contractor who we were going to use to put the windows in. Today it's been 4 months. I used Lowe's to remodel my kitchen, and discovered that they are not a good choice for major projects. They have a design person who can work with you (this experience was great), and the contractor was outstanding, and did great work. However, you have to pay in full for the job before your job is placed on the list. I paid for my kitchen in full in October, and work didn't start in earnest until January! Because I had paid in full, I had no recourse except to get crabby and call and e-mail the store frequently. Because I liked the contractor, I paid Lowe's in full to do a floor in June; as of today I have not heard from them. Gearing up to get crabby again. We have been visiting Lowes (among other similar stores) a lot over the past couple of years while re-doing an old farm house. It doesn't matter what we order, they never have it in stock. Bathroom fixtures... whatever we picked, not in stock. Toilets... nope, not in stock. Just yesterday, we went to purchase flooring. While the lady in that department was super friendly and knowledgeable, she noted that our top 3 picks were not in stock and we'd be waiting more than a week for them. So we lower our expectations and go with one we can live with (versus love) because it is "in stock". After we get everything ordered, I find out that "in stock" means it's in a warehouse far enough away that it will take 7 days to get in. Excuse me?? Doesn't "in stock" mean it is literally in stock at your location? So now our flooring guy is miffed because he is set back a week minimum for our "in stock" flooring to get here. I'm heading somewhere else and if I find they have something comparable, I'll just order it there. I think the thing that makes me the most mad is they aren't apologetic or worried about not being competitive. It just is what it is. I guess the good news is the floors are always clean because I can always find someone in stock and sweeping. read more
