Then when they get a promised delivery date there is no proactive follow up to ensure the delivery takes place. I was promised my mother's headstone would finally be installed on August 1, 2025. We purchased it in October 2024 yet as of August 17, 2025 there is no grave marker. There has never once been proactive communication or follow up from the this company. Basically my mother has been in an unmarked grave. I insisted months ago that they at least put a temporary grave marker on the stone took forever to get that also. Burying my mother was so absolutely expensive from this funeral home and this cemetery. They say one is separate from the other but clearly they work together since the funeral home took my check payable to them for my my mother's grave marker. I do not recommend this place at all for anyone and I am so disappointed my parents chose this place to be buried. I am now convinced they do not care about the dead. They do not care about our loved ones. If they did care, I would not be waiting 10 months for a headstone that I paid $6000 for and not once received proactive communication no nor have I seen any demonstrated effort to ensure that my mother is not in an unmarked grave! Don't go here for your loved one

Twice it was intended for my brother and I both to possess the POA with the first one being done incorrectly. At the time of my mother's passing, we learned that Len notarized yet another POA with just my brother's (Dawn husband) signature. He has since refused to provide us with a death certificate after he took over our mother's funeral arrangement (in doing so, it went against her written will). My family and I are seeking further action against this funeral home, etc. I would never recommend this funeral home to anyone given his unprofessionalism, abuse of authority, and other conflicts of interest.

The special touches they provided made the service memorable and meaningful. We kept receiving calls days later on how beautiful the service was. We visited other funeral homes however, they did not provide the same type of service as Houck and Gofus. We were told on several of our requests that the family would have to provide. For example, military honors. We were told we would have to arrange. Tyler and Kelsey made all of the arrangements, we did not have to make one phone call. We even stopped by in the evening without an appointment. Tyler, without hesitation, stopped what he was doing and invited us in and reviewed the information and answered all of our questions. This was great customer service at its best! The very next morning we met with Kelsey and the arrangements were made. Living in Phila, this was extremely helpful. We did not have to go back and forth, Tyler and Kelsey arranged everything for us from the flowers, military honors, death certificates, a pastor and pictures for both the obituary and slide show. We did not have a repass, Kelsey provided a local caterer who provided the delicious box lunches. Grumpy's was able to cater the event, the ordering was done over one phone call; it was all very hassle free. I cannot stress that enough! I would definitely recommend Houck and Gofus.
