Talk about something for everyone! I think this is such a great way to learn. It is different from "regular" adult ed classes that I have taken elsewhere. I think this is in part because you are not in some random high school/fire department/ Elks Club etc. These are all fine places, but here you are in a college type environment. Which means you have a better infrastructure. When you take a cooking class - you are in a PROFESSIONAL kitchen that is used during the day for the culinary program.And the teachers go from professional chefs (yay, Lee!) to home cooks with a passion. Take a computer class - you are in a lab with up to date computers, a fully functional network and projection capabilities for the instructors. Speaking of instructors - the computer classes are taught by people who teach there during the day for the computer certificate programs (go, Christella!). Great breadth of knowledge and a comfort in teaching people who have never seen a computer before - and also people who are very computer literate, but have questions. We (my husband and I) have already taken a bunch of CEC classes and hunger for more. Fortunately, we have barely made a dent in the catalog!

I signed up for one of Etenesh's cooking classes through CMC and was hooked. Her simple recipes, mixed with her authentic Ethiopian spices sent my palette into an epicurean delight :). We've had her come out to share her delicious food on several occasions at various mixers and gatherings. I'd truly recommend her services for any occasion where you want some authentic Ethiopian food. Her No Tea Tea beverage, lentils, chicken, and homemade bread is a meal I'd never turn down. I'd also pay any price to have her homemade baklava any time of the day!!

Jose James was a talented young artist and very warm, everyone enjoyed it so much! This place is so beautiful and I'm glad that they collaborate with the Jas Cafe. So far the staffs were very kind and professional. If you order food or drinks here, they will add 20% service charge on your bill, so don't get confuse meaning you don't need to add more tips because it's already added. If you are feeling very generous than you can add on top of the 20 %. We didn't order any food here because we came here for the late show 9:15pm, so we only ordered drinks. I assume the food it's good here because it's the Cooking School of Aspen right?

The problem was the chef was snarky and really didn't have much interest in demonstrating anything. Thus, it was really just a dinner, not that unusual. The appetizers were great and the food was very good other than the service was very poor and it took forever to get served. This is not an experience but rather just a nice meal. Also, there were a bunch of unanticipated surcharges that were ridiculous and made the evening very expensive. Ask about each line-item charge before signing up for an event there. They charge an additional cost for renting their facility, hiring their chef, doing the cooking and then they add a huge service fee/tip.

Did a tremendous job creating dinner and entrees for our children (2-5yrs old) allowing them to eat earlier in the evening, and then separately created a much more complex meal for the adults. His wine pairings were fantastic. Even more amazing, was that he created such amazing meals with our condo's relatively simple kitchen appliances; completely putting my own culinary skills to shame. I really wish I could give a better review, because we were genuinely excited to work with Blue…read moreRibbon Barbecue for our wedding. This review reflects our experience with them as a caterer. The food itself was decent--definitely not Texas-level barbecue, but for Montrose, it's what you'd expect. We ordered 90 plates with the intention of having leftovers (74 mouths fed), but there were none. When our coordinator reached out, Tyler (the owner) explained that he always brings extra food so guests can have seconds. That didn't quite add up--why would a caterer bring extra food beyond what was paid for? It left us wondering whether the portions were simply miscalculated. Another issue was the food temperature. The small burners used during setup weren't effective at all. We were among the first to eat, and our food was already cold. I can only imagine how it was for guests at the later tables. One of the biggest disappointments was the trailer. We had a lot of family traveling in from Texas and were thrilled about the idea of Tyler's trailer, which has a big Texas graphic on the side. We mentioned this during our initial meeting and were quoted for 80 plates. Later, when we increased to 90 and asked about the trailer again, Tyler told us he doesn't bring it for larger catering events. That was a real letdown--not just aesthetically, but practically. We suspect the food would've stayed much warmer had the trailer been used instead of the burner setup. Overall, while the barbecue was okay, the experience didn't meet expectations--especially given the excitement and planning that went into it.
