I found Lucas Special Services on the internet, and I called Mr. Earl Lucas the week prior to Thanksgiving to ask him to come out to clear my gutter of a bird's nest that was located 1 or 2 inches away from the down spout. On heavy rains, the water could not flow down the downspout and started backing up and dripping in between my exterior wall and my sheet rock. Mr. Lucas said that he was moving away from working on Saturdays, and he tried to accommodate me right away for that Tuesday, but I had to work. Also, he had plans for the next weekend; that was, Thanksgiving weekend. He asked that I give him a call after the Holiday. I reached back out to him, and he said that he would come out on a Saturday for me. He and his son, Robert, came out on December 17, 2022. They were on time, and the charge was the same as quoted to me on the phone, and they were both jovial and professional. Robert totally cleared that large bird's nest out of the gutter, and I no longer hear that drip in between the walls when it rain. I am so happy that I no longer have to be concerned about water damage to my home; therefore, I am grateful for the service rendered. I will absolutely use this company again. This duo works well together. I plan to use them to power wash my deck in the Spring. I look forward to doing business with them again. read more

Great experience with the Lucas family today! Called and got to speak with Earl, the owner, straight away. No hold, no automated system, straight to the owner. Needed a window shutter replaced on the 2nd floor of my house outside. They were out on a job a said they would swing by in 2 hours to do the job for me. Earl arrived with his son and another guy right on time after giving me an ETA via text. They were prepared, did great work at a fair price, worked efficiently but carefully, and were just good guys with great personalities that were also very respectful when it came to Covid safety. Earl and his son came out to install a new sink and reinstall a garbage disposal. It was wonderful that they were able to provide both services so we only had to call out one company. (This probably saved us multiple hundreds of dollars). They were very kind and respectful. I would definitely recommend them to others for home projects! There was a slight issue with the garbage disposal where the locking mechanism was not fully screwed on, but we were able to fix that without too much trouble. I had a cabinet hinge replaced. It had been replaced by Mr Handyman of Howard County previously. I told that rep that the screws were stripped. His fix lasted about 9 months which means he didn't address the stripped screws. Robert quickly fixed the hinge by using longer screws bypassing the stepped screws. Nice work! read more

I was happy with the quality of the work, the timeframe for completion, and the price. After they completed this work, I hired them to do some other repairs, including work on the chimney (which I already knew I was going to have to do eventually) and repairs to gutters with installation of gutter covers (another project I had been considering). Edit for follow-up: This company also spoke to my insurance adjuster and helped me get approval to proceed with repair without waiting. The insurance adjuster visited this morning, inspected the roof, and approved the claim in full (no adjustment except for the deductible).
