Wide range of genres and some fairly obscure finds too. Reasonable prices and very kind and helpful staff. Highly recommended for all music collecting nerds like myself. If you're in Victoria and love vinyl, you owe it to yourself to stop in and see his selections, some of which are quite rare! I picked up two super obscure Pink Floyd variants from him, and if it wasn't for Supreme Echo, I'd have never even known they existed! I did pretty good with the exchange rate, coming from the US - we even made a deal on some 8-track tapes that he just happened to have on hand! Well worth the price and the time spent.

It's a tiny little place that's packed with a diverse selection--from '80s new wave to jazz, from metal to country classics, from Bowie to Branigan and back again, and pretty much everything in between. I was particularly tickled to find a bunch of Polish pop and garage rock from the '60s and '70s there in the bins, a lot of neat stuff I'd never seen before. The selection is great, the prices fair, and the guys working the shop are friendly and fun to chat with about music. If you're in Victoria and you're into vinyl, it's definitely worth venturing a few blocks north of the downtown core to check this little place out.

They seemed to have a great selection of music that most people have never heard of. Good niche but it should be in addition to what is considered mainstream music. I have mostly interacted with the young woman there who is incredibly knowledgeable about some local and underground music. It is important to note that The Business is not a dusty-crate style record store. Almost all of their vinyl is new or in tremendously good shape. Prices reflect this, but are not unreasonable. Also, this isn't a shop to go hunting for classic rock or bargain bin grails. Their selection is mainly newer artists but with a wide range of genres to be found. Seriously, their bins are bulging with new artists waiting to be heard. They also buy and trade. However, I wouldn't advise bringing in moldy Christmas/Polka/Slim Whitman LPs expecting to leave a penny richer...

Plus they have DVD, Blu-ray and even laserdisc. Counter gent was an old school movie geek like myself and was super fun to chat movies and the like with. I even headed off to the new sales Videomatica store afterwards and since I bought very little, went back to purchase more including a lessor-seen but reasonably priced Atom Egoyan collection of early films. (They covet the greats!) This store has it all in both rentals and sales - both of which are reasonable. LOVE THIS STORE!!!!!

On-street parking is always available for a quarter, with grocery and liquor store on same block plus quick eats across the street. Browsing with friends is priceless. There is no icebreaker like proposing and then having to defend the potential awesomeness of "Krull" from 1983. Staff are fittingly knowledgeable and casually geek about the films. Price is high. Late charge (over 7 days for regular titles) is just 50¢/day.
