Unless you're already a client at this tattoo shop and have a relationship with the artist(s) there, I would STRONGLY go elsewhere for tattooing. Two times I sent tattoo design ideas to these folks and both times got shot down as they had no interest in tattooing me. I know one person doesn't make or break a business (but word of month spreads like wildfire, good or bad), but are you trying to make money or not. read more

I got two piercings done there. The first one was simple just a flat piercing and the second one was a helix piercing. I noticed for my flat piercing they put in a very short jewelry. so when it git irritated when i slept on it the jewelry started making an imprint in my skin for how tight it was. The helix piercing was done all wrong it was crocket and when it was somewhat healed the holes were all most toughing. The front hole to the back. Well... I have been going here for the last 5/6 years now. Between my tattoos and piercings. Never had an issue until today. I ran out on my lunch hour from work as my gauge fell out because I lost my rubber backing. I thought I could run over quickly get a replacement and get back to work. I walked in and asked about a back. The receptionist went and asked the piercer (whom had done all my piercings) who was getting ready for a customer (I get it) and I was told they don't sell the backing that I needed. Ok fine. I asked him to ask the piecer what he recommended so that I didn't lose my gauge (I was told I needed an apt). He came back and told me that I could buy another gauge (which would mean set) and I said ok, I just need to get this taken care of so my hole doesn't close. I'll buy one right now. I was told I needed an appt. I said I just want to buy a set now, he went back again and asked the piercer who still WAS NOT with the client yet he was still in his back room. The poor guy comes back again and says, I'm sorry we can't do that as we don't know your size. At this point I'm getting annoyed. I said here take this one and show him, I was told that he (receptionist) couldn't touch it, I said put it in a tissue, was still told no. There was nothing they were going to do to help me as a customer at a place that did all my piercings and the place I purchased all my jewelry and tattoos from over the years. Let me tell you when the piercer came out to get his client he couldn't even look at me and kept his back towards me. Wouldn't even acknowledge me and COULD NOT even take the literal 2 min it would have taken him to point out which gauge size I needed. I would have bought it and been on my way. I have never felt so undervalued as a customer. The fact that he refused to talk to me, or look at me when he came out is beyond incomprehensible. I was willing to buy a whole new set when all i needed was the rubber stopper (which is a little tiny round rubber loop). I appreciate the need for an appt. Of course! However, he was not in with a client when I came in, and the amount of times this poor receptionist had to go back and forth is awful, when all he had to do is come out and talk to me for less then 5 min. Probably more like 2 to Just point to me the size I needed. After talking to other people about my experience, it seems as if they lack in customer service. As a small college town community I'm sure losing me as a customer means nothing, but they sure did lose a long standing one who has spent a lot of money there over the years as well as family members. read more

Great place. At age 61 got my first tattoo this week at Lucky 13. Place is clean and staff is very friendly and welcoming. My friend and I went in together (her second tat, first she got somewhere else years ago and wasn't happy). We had Tabby do our tattoos. She was wonderful. A young college art student who really loves tattooing. She showed us several options for our designs. She made sure we were happy with placement. All equipment was sealed and opened in front of us. She seemed interested in the story behind the tattoo we wanted. Offered to stop and give me a break if I needed one since it was my first. Hardly felt anything. She went over aftercare several times with us. Plus they offer touch ups within 3 months if needed. They also play great music. Busy place so best to make an appointment. Already have my next tattoo picked out and will be requesting Tabby again. read more

Lucky 13 will forever be my favorite place to get any tattoos or piercings. I've had two tattoos done there, one simple handwriting and then a much larger piece on my thigh. Kyle is an amazingly talented artist. I came in with a picture of a cacao bean and he transformed it into something 1000x better than I could've imagined. I've also had two piercings done here, one by Kyle and the other by Brandon. Both were placed in the exact spots I wanted them and healed perfectly. I came in recently to have my tongue web pierced while I'm home from college. After getting it pierced I noticed my piercing was sideways and had a lot of swelling. I went to have it removed at Mike's in Reading and I was told that in fact my piercing was sideways and that the Lucky 13 piercer had pierced the wrong part of my tongue web. It was pierced into more of the tissue than the actual skinny part of the web causing pain and swelling. I am not happy with this experience at all especially after paying $60 for it. I would not ever recommend getting a piercing here to anyone especially tongue web. I did not even get to keep this piercing in for a full week. read more
