Had a tattoo done by Caleb on my arm. He's an incredible artist, very good at what he does. I came in with a nose ring that bothered me, and the lady that does piercings was friendly enough to take it out for me and unscrew it off my nose. She didn't even let me pay her for it! She's definitely my favorite part of my time here, besides the gorgeous tattoo! I'd give 5 stars, but Caleb was kinda taciturn. He was good with making conversation and was so focused and dedicated to his work, but when I asked if they had the wifi password, he legit was like "yeah, but it's very long and they have it downstairs so" then proceeded to do his work. Cool, thanks. I ended up using my phone data to watch youtube videos while he did his thing. He was kind enough to take a picture of my tattoo on my phone, ignored me when I asked for one with me actually in it and not just my arm. Maybe he just didn't hear me. Aside from that, talk about an incredible tattoo artist. You will literally regret nothing about getting a tattoo from him. So worth the money and time--and it's my favorite tattoo on my body. Sadly this place isn't what it's cracked up to be. My wife first came to The Quillian over a year ago to get me a birthday gift card! Super excited as there one of the shops in the Valley that has come highly recommended. Went in a couple months later and tried to set up an appointment with one of the artists. Came in prepared with pictures and very specific ideas and placement. I tried to make an appointment by was told to call later in the week to speak to the artist. Wouldn't let me or a deposit down to simply hold the time slot . Fast forward a year or so and decide I'm going to use the gift card as well as treat my best friend to a birthday tattoo! I decide I'm going into the shop again this time -- thinking if I speak FACE TO FACE with someone I can set up a double appointment and or back to back appointment. Go there this past week around 6:30pm and happily found the shop was filled-- proceeded to spend the next 15 mins talking to whoever was at the front desk -- he clearly could see I'm heavily tattooed . I was prepared! Brought pictures/ specific styles/ communicated clearly as to what we want --- First it was " well we need to know what it is you want " "how big & where" -- fine -- typical chit chat to be efficient I explained what we were looking for -- he then went in the back to the artist and reiterated everything I told him - I was then told to email a more precise idea to the email on the business card and someone would get back to me. He wouldn't book a time because we weren't clear on the idea -- I even said " I want to put money down to hold the spot for Saturday" -- and he refused!!!! So I took a deep breath and walked out TODAY I proceeded to email them with description/size/style/placement/ etc --- after emailing twice I got an email stating that the ARTIST would be OK to do the tattoo with some color and some of the items we requested but not the entire idea( included a banner and wording) I have NEVER HAD AN ARTIST decide it was 'OK' to do the work--- nor have I ever had such a problem trying to GIVE MY MONEY TO A BUSINESS FOR THIS DAMN LONG!!! --- unbelievably frustrating and honestly if their artists are ABOVE doing a tattoo (which is in memory) no matter what the design is -- then this is NO PLACE I want to give my hard earned money too! anybody wanna buy a gift card !? read more

Love this place. Felt welcomed the second I walked in the door, and I am pretty straight-laced. Usually I get sideways looks when I go into tattoo shops, but these guys are so friendly. The place is very clean, and the artists are very well-kept. No scruff in this place. Steve did my tattoo, it was a simple piece and he was more than happy to do it. On August 23, 2020 I contacted Quillian Tattooing & Piercing located at 614 N. 19th Street, Allentown, PA 18104 and requested a consultation for a tattoo. Around September 1, 2020 I went for my consultation with Mr. Caleb Gesicki (Mr. Gesicki had been my tattooist for two other tattoos on two separate occasions prior without any incident). On October 21, 2020 I arrived for my 4 P.M appointment. About 4:05 P.M a female arrived and waited outside as well. Soon after a male staff of Quillian invited her inside. I stood up to follow her inside for my appointment however, I was stopped abruptly and told that I had to wait outside and he'd tell Caleb I was there. I remained outside and listened to music on my phone, which was zipped away inside of a small pocket in my purse. Later, the receptionist told myself and two other people to come inside. In front of everyone I was told by the receptionist to shut my music (a love song by Usher) off. She said "We have our own music playing in the background." After my tattoo the receptionist asked if I needed to schedule another appointment. I told her that my next appointment was already scheduled. After I paid my bill she did not offer a receipt so I asked for one. She then asked me if I had a "problem" with her and became very combative with me. I told her that I don't have a problem with her and in the past I received receipts after paying for my tattoos. I also told her that I didn't know her to have a problem with her. She told me "I've heard other people have had problems with you" and continued to be rude and aggressive in tone. She told me that due to COVID-19 they only provide receipts upon request. I told her that the current interaction was unprofessional and unnecessary. I then told Caleb what happened,that I was unaware of the new receipt policy, collected my receipt and left. On October 26, 2020 I received a voice message from Steve Lemak the owner of Quillian. He asked that I return his call and stated, "We have an issue that's come up with your up coming appointment and Caleb's asked me to speak to you directly about it." I called Steve back he told me that my "November 4, 2020 appointment with Caleb was cancelled, I was no longer welcomed at the Quillian, Caleb no longer wished to work with me, I argued with and cursed at the receptionist and several of his staff." While trying to explain my side of what truly happened on October 21st during my appointment for which he was not present,I was dismissed by Steve. I tried to express the unfairness of what was currently being done to me as I now have an incomplete tattoo. I also tried to express my disappointment in the fact that I had completed several hours of research to find photos to create my desired tattoo. Steve held no regard to the dilemma I was faced with or the false allegations that were made against me by his staff. As he continued to dismiss me and rush me off the phone I asked him, "If there was a history of issues surrounding my time being a client of the Quillian then why would I be allowed to return for three tattoos?" There was no response to my question! I was never disrespectful to anyone throughout my time as a client at the Quillian. I had little to no interactions with anyone except with my tattooist. It's disheartening to find that after over a year of trying to build a rapport with Caleb that he did not have the decency to call me to discuss the events that took place and to resolve/clarify any misunderstandings in a professional manner. Moreover, if there were any validity to any accusations made by Steve then I don't believe that October 26, 2020 would be the first time any misconduct on my part would be brought to my or anyone's attention. With no regard for any of the concerns I mentioned, the possibility that my side could be valid, no consideration for any inconvenience I experienced at his establishment or am currently faced with having an incomplete tattoo, and the fact that he was not present on the day in question, Steve with no remorse told me to find another tattoo shop! I have never experienced such unprofessionalism by any tattooist or tattoo establishment in my many years of getting tattoos. This experience in my opinion definitely speaks to the lack of integrity at the Quillian. I hope that sharing my experience at the Quillian helps someone in the future to make an informed decision before giving their business to any establishment that would mistreat them in the way that I have been mistreated and slandered by the owner of Quillian Tattooing & Piercing and his staff. Never actually was able to get anything done here due to poor communication. I contacted them end of June looking to book a tattoo appointment with Caleb and was directed to contact him directly, providing his email. I sent an email to him soon after and never heard anything back. I waited a month, figuring he's extremely backed up because of the COVID-19 crisis. After not hearing anything I contacted the business email once again and they were super attentive and friendly- and then it dropped. I was excited because after sending ideas I had, they told me the honed in on a style and just needed a little more detail. I provided, and haven't heard from them since July 27. Bummed because from what I have seen they do beautiful work. I've been following their Instagram for an extremely long time and will continue because I do admire what they do, just wish I could've got the opportunity to have art from them. read more

I went to The Quillian for the first time in 2012 on my twenty-third birthday. As soon as I walked in the door, I felt instantly comfortable and welcomed! The studio is spotless; the artists are polite and very well-kept. My intention going there was to have my septum pierced.. which lead me to meet Desiree. SO laid-back, friendly, and just a cool girl! For a moment, I felt like I was reuniting with a long lost friend. She did a great job answering any questions I had going in, and also did a great job with my piercing. Desiree's the real deal! Planning on going back to The Quillian REAL soon for more piercings. My first trip to The Quillian was well over 13 years ago. The only thing that has changed is they moved up to the second floor. Listen, if you want a professional staff with a clean studio and talented artists then this has to be your first stop. Don't get discouraged if you need to wait. There is a reason you may have to wait - they're that good. Sometimes I wait weeks; months. Its worth it. Best advice is if you have a project or multiple pieces try to book in advance as many as you can. read more

I have only been to Quillian once, but it was a very good experience. I had to wait 3 days for an appointment, but that isn't nearly as long as some shops will make you wait, and it was well worth it. The artists are polite and friendly. My tattoo was very reasonably priced, and Jay executed it exactly as I wanted. The shop is clean, bright and well-maintained. My only qualm is that I was told to moisturize my healing tattoo with regular hand moisturizer, which you should never do because it draws the color right out. After that I was slightly skeptical of their knowledge, but I got a bangin tattoo out of it, so I'm not too mad at it. read more

just now The first time I visited this place was to get the top of a dermal piercing replaced because the one I had was too big. I definitely praise the piecer she was fantastic and she was going to replace it for free since I purchased a replacement myself but it ended up not fitting so I purchased one from Quillian that cost me $20, no big deal. Couple weeks later the stone fell out and I was quite shocked since I just had it redone. I called the shop on Weds. Sept 25th around 5 pm and a woman answered the phone. I told her the issue and she was so friggin rude and short with me. She told me that they would replace it but it would cost me another $20 are you frigging kidding me? She said "well we don't know what you did with it since you had it put in" what??? What I did with it? Wow ! She said abruptly and nasty " " well the lady that does the piercing is not in till tomorrow and you could ask her then but I'm just telling you what our rules are" I will NEVER go back again! Forget the other piercings and the tats I wanted to get from Quillian thanks to her! A little bit of courtesy will take you a long way. Wow! If it wasn't for this obnoxious, rude, nasty receptionist I definitely would have been back to this store no question. The lady that does the piercing is phenomenal once again, so kind and friendly. You need to change the receptionist and that way you will not lose customers. So disappointed. read more

I have only ever gotten piercings here (no tattoos), but Desiree is a godsend. She's the best. She makes you feel very comfortable and makes the whole experience pleasant. I've had several piercings from her that I have never had issues with. She also picks the best, proper-fitting jewelry that is comfortable and appropriate for healing. I got pierced elsewhere one time and I kick myself for it because Desiree would have done a better job without a doubt. When my piercing from that different artist got infected, I went to see Desiree and she gave me advice and genuinely cared about my well-being and my piercings. read more

I've gotten many piercings before at others places, but I really felt comfortable here, and the piercer really helped to work with me to figure out the placement of my piercing.
