I was desperately seeking a last minute groom for my pup and this place is 2mins from my house. After my normal groomer ended up cancelling I was able to get an appointment here with 20mins notice... Despite the lackluster reviews mostly on the appearance and the owner's personality, I thought... what's the worst that could happen... Well.... All the photos are correct.... The place looks like Fred Sanford's scrapyard. Luckily I'm old school GenX/Millennial cusp and have been to plenty of old mom and pop shops but usually like cobblers and utility store... This was shocking for a place that services actual living creatures. It's cluttered but I will say it didn't look 'dirty' aside from dust on the old leashes and doggy pillow cases for sale... I definitely felt like I was stepping into a 1970s sitcom. That said. They are GREAT ! Maybe I caught him on a good day but the guy seemed pretty charming to me and the lady who did the grooming was delightful. My baby looks amazing and they did a lot of extras like painted her toe nails to match the dye job. She is back to her old diva self! Pro tip- like a 70s mom and pop operation, the place only takes cash. Not the most convenient but for the price and service I didn't mind stopping by the bank on the way back to pick her up. read more

He asked "how much do you normally pay?" Then told me it's 80. I asked what does that include? He started going off on me that he's in his car on his way to work. I will definitely be returning here and will no longer be going to our previous groomers at petsmart. It is within walking distance from my place, fast service, and fairly priced for a bath/grooming/nail trimming. The owner was very friendly. He even allowed me to take my dog, Forest, to the back to select a blade size and discuss with the groomer how I wanted his hair cut. Forest came out looking great and exactly how I wanted! I have never written a review for a business and i had to download Yelp just for this. I came to Baltimore to see my sister last minute, and realized my little one was a little smelly and in need of a simple shampoo. Everywhere else was booked, so I called Dave. From the first phone call, he was extremely rude and made me feel awful about "keeping him open past close." It was 1:30 pm when i called. I arrived ten minutes later, and he was insistent I pay before he took my dog back, and in cash. He asked me to come to the back room with him so I could hold my dog still while his assistant cut her nails. I could not believe my eyes. This store was the most unsanitary, scary, and cluttered establishment i've ever seen. The entire time Dave's assistant was working on my dog, he was berating her, correcting her, and speaking to her like she wasn't human. Once they finished with my dog's nails (the platform on which they did so was covered with ANOTHER DOG's hair), Dave asked me to leave, but I said I would be staying to watch (because I was not about to leave my dog alone with him). He berated me for asking to stay, but then allowed it. Meanwhile, there was another little dog that seemed almost an afterthought. Dave would trim the dog a little, disappear into the front of the store for a bit, and then come back to work on the dog more. Once they hooked my dog up to a glorified ShopVac to dry, I told them I would be leaving. As I was walking toward the exit, Dave followed me out the door, telling me that he wasn't done and that I was being a "b*tch" I have never felt so disgusted and so shocked in a person or a business before. We've been taking our bichon poodle to Lucky 3 for over four years now and can not brag enough! Our sweet dogs always get the highest compliments on their haircuts and we always recommend Lucky 3! When we got our second dog, another bichon poodle, it was a no brainer for where to go. Unassuming from the outside, but so worth a walk through the doors for the best cut in town. I was really hoping that this small local shop would be what we needed. I was wrong. I have 2 short-hair chihuahuas that just needed a simple bath and nail trim. He said if I could bring them in at 1, that would be great. So I did. He said they would be done in 2 hours, so I set to return at 3. I was on work calls, but he phoned me 4TIMES in a few minutes, the last of which was as I was pulling up to the shop - at 2:52. I was nearly ten minutes early, and this guy was muttering about not wanting to "stay past closed - 5 or 6:00." Umm...no, buddy. Just no. The shop is unsanitary, unwelcoming, and this guy is a nut job who should not be in business. Rude, constantly trying to upsell, and just a terrible experience. They did an amazing job on my large cat who was heavily matted. Cat groomers had suddenly become scarce during covid and he had gone too long without grooming. The heavy matting made him ornery so he was not happy during the lengthy grooming process. Our groomer Beverly was gentle and great at keeping him calm. My boyfriend had taken our chow/shepherd mix here twice and it went fine. They charged $80 for a haircut for a 50lb dog, which is similar to nearby pet shops in the city. I brought our dog in for an appointment after calling around to some other groomers who were booked, because they said they could do her right away, which was nice. She has a LOT of fluff and fur, and we wanted it trimmed. When I walked in, the owner, who is a bit quirky but seemed nice, remembered my boyfriend and the dog, and told me he had cut her hair before so I felt comfortable leaving her. We discussed the haircut, trimming, etc., and then right before I left, he asked if it was okay if he trimmed her face. I said that was fine, just make it look even on the edges, as she has VERY long hair and it can get unruly. Then he asked if I wanted her to tail to look like a lion. I found this to be an odd question and told him no. To my surprise, about 45 minutes later (usually she takes WAY longer to be groomed), I got a call saying Lexi was ready. I came to get her and the owner had me pay before seeing her. They then let Lexi out and she was SHAVED. They shaved my long-haired, fluffy beauty in the below-freezing winter. The dog was so embarrassed she was acting strange and I honestly did not recognize her. I was in utter shock and could not speak. I was so confused and heartbroken. The owner said, "We have cut her like this a few other times." I couldn't speak because I was trying not to cry and also wondering if that was really my furry girl. I still did not answer and I left. I am unsure how you can misunderstand someone wanting to SHAVE their extremely fluffy dog. That, to me, is something you would confirm before doing something so drastic. I never used the words BALD, SHAVED, no hair, etc. It was also well below freezing, and any groomer with any knowledge of furry dogs should know that their undercoat protects them from unbearable temps in the winter and from sunburn in the summer. Before I left her, he'd asked me if she shed a lot, and I told him yes; I didnt mean I never wanted her to shed ever again. He also told me when I picked her up "Now she wont shed." Great..... Its been a month and her hair is slowly regrowing, but we will NEVER be back there. To top it off, my boyfriend called to express his disappointment and request a refund, and the owner told him that I had asked for that haircut. I paid $90 to have my dog shaved. That takes no skill and is completely unacceptable for below freezing temperatures in the winter, and for a dog that has a beautiful coat. Pros: Other people have had better experiences than me. Cons: Only accepts cash, store is dirty and not well lit, does not communicate well or admit mistakes, might shave your dog on accident and not admit to it being an accident. read more

I had made an appointment for my 5lb maltese. I was charged DOUBLE($80) what Hair Of the dog charges($40). Kai had nicks all over his body from the chop job and the following week had to be taken to the doctor TWICE. One for an eye infection followed by a second visit for an ear infection caused by one of the nicks on his ear. The shop, of that's what you want to call it, is unorganized and chaotic. I had been using Pet Smart dog grooming for a while. But last week I went to make a online appointment and received a message that I had to call a 800 number to book the appointment. I then called and was advised that my senior Schnauzer Bandit was to hard to groom because he would not stay standing up and PetSmart could no longer groom him. I then contacted Lucky-3. I spoke to the owner who was very friendly and had no problem cutting Bandit. I took him in the following morning and his groomer took very good care of my boy and did a excellent job. No cuts no burns and he was very happy when I picked him up. Guess who just lost all of my business. I will no longer spend any money at PetSmart. My cat just got bathed and a cut. I'm very pleased, he looks great and his groomer Beverly was excellent. She was quick, which was especially important since as many people know cats aren't the most sedate when getting groomed. I'll admit, I see why many places don't groom cats anymore. I'm very pleased with the service. I will be honest and say that the place is a little rough around the edges, and the owner is a little quirky but very nice! As someone mentioned before, this is not a frou frou place but I would definitely recommend it. PS. They did a nice job grooming my friend's Yorkshire Terrier and trimming her nails. The dog is high strung but they were able to trim her nails and groom her very well. They were able to fit me in on a Saturday with very little notice which was also a great benefit. The only drawback is the shop is cluttered and dimly lit (otherwise 5 stars). The dog didn't mind and the grooming results were great. That was what was most important. read more

I have tried the so called "best" in the County. Before I found Lucky3, they all nicked and cut my pooch. NOT so with Dave and his co-worker Beverly. These 2 are actual specialists and in the 4 or 5 years I have been coming here I have never, EVER been less than satisfied! They are meticulous, caring and professional. It's a very small corner shop and Dave the owner is a real fun character! Pros: Prices: are in line, and even less expensive than others. Service: many times you can get same day appts Dave and Beverly: would not trust anyone else, anywhere, with my dog. Cons: None really. I've never had any issues, my babies are always cut the way I've asked and they are treated very well. They are gentle with my seniors and do the lifting when they don't/can't walk up the steps. We called to see if they were open today because we knew many places are shut on Easter. When asked if they were open, they replied in a rude tone "No, don't you think we deserve the day off?". Perfectly fine to be closed, however, either leave a message on your machine if you don't want to talk to people or be polite when someone asks "Are you open today?". I called at 11:30am and was told to bring my TWO Brussels Griffon on in and they would be seen immediately. We have been going to Petsmart for a couple years now and you never know what you are in for. The owner and his assistant really know what they are doing. They ask you exactly what you want and work very quickly!!! My husband and I went to lunch and came back to the store front and they were both done. They looked wonderful!!! My dogs did not seem anxious and ready to fly into my arms as usual. I will be back again and again. This is not your fru fru doggie boutique everyone this is an old school groomer who has been doing this for many years and truly knows what he is doing! I can honestly say I love Dave and respect his work as a groomer. I have a rescue cat who was turned away by 3 other groomers for not being able to get her nails cut. I tried and failed many times myself. I found Dave and he does it in 10 minutes, with me standing right there watching. He is truly a cat whisperer. I have been going to this groomer well over 20 yrs. They were always able to accommodate on a same day call- for me that was a an automatic plus. As far as some previous negative comments, it's a small, local business and though may not have the big luxury overhead- they handled all my dogs, past and present with total care. We have a very skittish little rescued part yorkie, part we don't know what. Another groomer said she couldn't do the job because our dog became so upset. Dave has groomed our dog twice and done a good job both times. You do have to listen to a sales pitch for the products in the store, but it's worth the results of the grooming. I have taken my toy poodle to this guy a few times and he always does a good job. However, he's very rude and disrespectful. Although i always like to tip, he asks for one before i can even get the money out. That makes me uncomfortable and i dont think that customers should feel pressured to tip, it should be voluntary. He also keeps polishing my male dogs nails after i contuously tell him not to. Even with these issues, i still took my dog there since he did do a good job on his lamb cut. And then today I called him to take my dog in for a cut, he told me he needed to up the price from $70 to $90-100 because I left my dog there til 5:45 pm last time. I have NEVER left my dog there, I even stay in the neighborhood while he gets cut and picks him up as soon as he's done. I tried to explain to him on the phone that he had me confused with someone else and tried to give him my name and details that would help him realize who i was and he cut me off before i could say much and said "I know who you are, call me if you want the appointment" I am very disgusted and he has lost a very good customer. He should be more respectful when speaking to customers and more careful when making accusations which were COMPLETELY FALSE!!
