The shop itself is beautifully decorated, but it was the "homey" feeling that made it so special. Kamie was so welcoming and warm. The boutique has an incredible selection in a quaint, comfortable space. High end, excellent quality apparel at fair prices. I, nearly exclusively, shop Lula Belle. Kamie makes my shopping experiences so personal. Even living 1400 miles away, she packages all my treasures with TLC. (And the clothing smells amazing! It's an extra special touch she makes.). She thinks of every detail! Kamie is not only an awesome small business owner, she is a huge community supporter. I'm naturally attracted to merchandise that can be used to store stuff. At the same time, Gayle would advise that I buy less "stuff", thus minimizing any further container purchases. So here I was in West Des Moines, primarily to look for luggage at REI. And much to my pleasant surprise was this Container Store, just an easy stroll away. The fabrics are sturdy, hardy and hold up to endless rough wear, hiking, getting soaked by unexpected ocean waves, rain, harsh sun, all elements all the time! Far better fabrics than higher priced clothes we've found elsewhere. But I had such a bad experience trying to return some socks at the Ankeny store I was mad enough to leave a review. The check who waited on me,I wish I had thought to get her name, was rude and condescending to me right from the start. When she heard I was making a return she seemed to have it already decided not to accept it. We're talking $20 socks with a receipt and the original pkg. I left the store so disgusted I vowed to cut up my card and do my future shopping elsewhere. Now for the flip side of this. I decided one clerk would not have won this and decided to try a different location. I went to the Merle Hay Mall location and got the pleasant customer experience I'm used to getting at SC. I wish I had got her name also. She was pleasant and efficient and I was in and out in less time than at the Ankeny store and actually got something accomplished. So 5 stars for the Merle Hay store zero stars for Ankeny. I have decided to keep my card and just avoid Ankeny SC. Thanks for letting me vent. I guess I had to give it 1 star but that isn't my opinion

I really wish they had a Rainbow store here like they have in Chicago but I see this is the…read moresubstitution store for Rainbow...I do find nice women's dresses here but not very often...about 1 out of every 3 times I come here I do find a dress that fits and is pretty...either they are too small or too big in size...but it is worth to come here...hit or miss...the dressing rooms are always locked and it does take about 3 minutes to get a worker to open a dressing room.
