My boyfriend and I received a tattoo on Friday the 13th of 2023, I understand Chris was the only one there and wasn't originally going to do Halloween tattoos but my boyfriend paid $100 for our tattoos .. and mine looks extremely rushed. I definitely have to go get a touch up and this is my first tattoo. My boyfriend's tattoo is low quality for the price and there's a couple blow outs in it, near Gengar's feet, with it being so basic it shouldn't have been that hard. I will include pictures, plus the artist Chris chose the easiest part of the hand. The vibe of the shop was ok, he kept going out for smoke breaks and he never washed his hands after the smoke breaks. He was rushing anyone who called the store he said "if no one is here by the time I'm done, I'm gone because I've been here since 10 am." And same for people who walked in. read more

I wasn't planning on writing this review. Normally I don't write bad reviews. Actually I don't write reviews at all, but it's been well over a week and I cannot stop thinking about this. I've finally decided that unfortunately my first review on yelp is going to be a bad one, and only because I want to prevent this from happening to someone else. Sometime in May 2020 I came into the lucky prick tattoo shop and met an artist named Tork, I believe. After discussing some ideas of what I would want tork drew up a beautiful peonies flower for me. Obviously flowers are a pretty common request in the tattoo industry but this piece was costum and every flower is different in real life. My point being is if another girl asked to have a peonies tattooed the chances of her getting the exact peonies flower (line work, leaf placement, pedals, additional flowers surrounding the peonies) are pretty low. Especially because like I said I was paying for a custom piece. Well to my surprise Tork recently had a costumer approach him saying she liked my tattoo. In my experience with artists they will not tattoo the same tattoo that is already on someone else they will infact tattoo something similar though. Not in this case though. Tork happily agreed to tattoo my exact custom stencil that I paid him for generiously onto another arm 7 months later... MY ARTIST. I can understand another artist stealing my piece and tattooing it on another exactly, it's still fucked up but it is more common, but for my artist to take a piece I bought from him and tattoo it again? Am I fucking misunderstanding something? I feel like I should be refunded. This I feel lacks any respect for the industry. I reached out to tork about the situation and was met with a bullshit response let me tell you. I'll attach pictures for reference. I just want to make clear that just because he did an entire sleeve of flowers does not justify recycling my exact stencil for the piece. Maybe he was lacking originality that day, or maybe he was feeling a bit lazy and just thought ohh well it's what she wants and it saves me time trying to draw up a new stencil. Normally I don't do reviews, let alone bad reviews but I feel this one is warranted. I recently got a tattoo by Chris Evans at Lucky Prick Tattoo on 32nd St and Bell Rd. Let me start by saying, I have gotten a previous tattoo by Chris and it's one of my absolute favorite ones. Fast forward to this past Saturday I went back to have him do more work on the same arm and same area as the first one he did. By Monday my arm had been in so much pain. I can barely bend it and it is on fire. I decided to remove the wrap that he had originally put on around 5pm monday because it was full of what I thought was sweat and figured that wasn't good for the tattoos healing process. After removing the wrap and washing it with Dial soap, I was shocked at what I saw. (See Pictures) I honestly don't know how to even put it into words, what I thought was sweat was actually puss.I contacted Chris right away as well as sent the pictures I'm posting to him. I called the shop and asked him to look at the pictures I sent him. His overall response was 1) Absolutely no money back and 2) let it heal , come see him and he'll "fix" it. As if I'd let the person who originally destroyed my arm try to "fix it", and that's praying that it's even fixable. It's as if he thought my arm was a piece of wood and carved the tattoo into it. Look, I could on for days about how wrong this is but the bottom line is he's not willing to make it right. And "fixing it" isn't making it right in my eyes. My arm is in excruciating pain and I wouldn't wish this on anyone. BE CAREFUL who you let tattoo you. #scarredforlife UPDATE: The shop owner reached out to me and said that this happened because I took the wrap off too "early". 1) I wasn't given a time frame on how long to leave it on for 2) the rose I previously had done by Chris (the rose in the pictures posted) I took the wrap off "too early" and it's perfectly fine. I also mentioned to the shop owner about previous reviews they have with people having similar issues. I specifically brought up the finger tattoo review where it was just a scab and no ink. His response to that was "finger tattoos are a waste of money in my opinion". So Dave , the owner of Lucky Prick tattoo, seems to think that everything is the clients fault. Ultimately he seems to think that I went into his shop, sat my ass down and tattooed my self. I paid Chris 1000$ so I could tattoo myself and carve shit into my arm. ‍ I will be getting a lawyer involved at this point. read more

Came in to the shop about two weeks ago for a small red matching butterfly tattoo with my friend. Was told my artist was the best at hand tattoos and was more than capable. Instead two weeks go by and I literally don't even have a tattoo on my finger he cut open my finger with the tattoo gun. I have multiple tattoos and know what a tattoo should look like once it's done and during the healing period but because I got my tattoo in red ink it just looked like it was tattooed but it was all just blood and scabbed over read more

Super unprofessional. I came in to get a small line drawing tattoo in red ink and the artist took it upon himself to do the line work in black and white then color in the whole tattoo without clarifying what he was doing. I don't have many tattoos so I didn't notice what he was doing and trusted that it would have been what I asked for. After he was done he proceeded to tell me the design he did was better then what I asked for and still charged me even though the final tattoo looked nothing like the reference photo I showed. The guy who did my tattoo never gave me his name but I am extremely disappointed with my experience here and would definitely not recommend this shop/artist. read more
